So the morning after being anxious I wouldn’t ovulate this month I get a solid smiley 😄 My automatic reaction? I wish I’d tested last night as we didn’t DTD last night and it might’ve been posivite then 🙄 There’s always anxiety there isn’t there?! We’re following the SMEP so every 2nd day til the positive OPK.

Fuckallthetories · 21/10/2022 08:02

OMG!! Got a little smiley face this morning! Gonna DTD tonight, I pray this is my month, we’ve been trying for like 6 months since MC in April. Period is meant to be coming on Tuesday 🤞

HalWin2221 · 21/10/2022 08:20

@Fuckallthetories @RainbowSearching good luck with DTD ladies! Keeping everything crossed & sending lots of baby dust ✨

Mariabombia · 21/10/2022 08:31

Welcome @Fuckallthetories & @Aprilsunnyday sorry that you have found yourselves here ♥️ best of luck this cycle if you've started ttc again.

@bunnykins123 sorry to hear you are feeling poop :( it must be so hard taking those meds and getting poorly all the time. Where are you in your cycle now?

Sailawaygirl · 21/10/2022 08:55

Hi ladies. Been reading thread for support. I've just finished bleeding after a medical miscarriage. ( well hope so been a bit on and of for the last 4 days. 8 days post MC ) Was first attempt at TTC fingers crossed for next round. Feeling ticking of clock and feeling old for the first time ( I'm 35). I'm just hoping that period starts soon again so I can get back on track with cycles. Fingers crossed 🤞 🌈

bunnykins123 · 21/10/2022 08:56

@Aprilsunnyday I agree with that! The internet is both a blessing and a curse as it's so easy to find information without knowing how accurate it is! I also know someone who conceived with incredibly low AMH and I read online that AMH alone isn't a barrier to conceiving (it's mainly about ivf egg stimulation as you know).

@RainbowSearching @Fuckallthetories yay to the static smilies! Have fun over the next few days 🙃 fingers crossed this is your successful month!

@Mariabombia thank you! Honestly, I haven't felt think rank in years. I'm 14dpo now. No sign of AF but breasts are no longer sore plus I can't imagine any bean managing to bypass this killer of a bug even if I did conceive this cycle!

RainbowSearching · 21/10/2022 09:39

Thank you @HalWin2221 @bunnykins123 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Mariabombia · 21/10/2022 09:39

@lizziecat1 That's exactly it , I'm glad you understand what I mean. One step at a time. Hope you're doing well 💕

@bunnykins123 you never know!! I don't think my boobs were sore at all until after I'd missed AF. When are you due on? Once you conceive how long do you have to stay on the suppressant? Keeping everything crossed for you. Xx

TheBirdintheCave · 21/10/2022 09:59

@Sailawaygirl Welcome! Sorry you've found yourself here. I hope your stay is short :) I'm 36 and there a few other "older" ladies on here so you're not alone.

Sailawaygirl · 21/10/2022 10:25

@TheBirdintheCave . Thank you. Online support has been so vital. Even though I've just been stalking message boards. Just reading that others going through same things has given me a sense of normality in this craziness.

I'm going back to work on Monday. Took 2 weeks off but seriously anxious today about it. I work in health care so have a list of patients that I feel like I have 'abandoned ' and might be angry that I haven't been able to follow up. I've met up with a friend and been shopping so feel able to 'do people in public'. I can normally put my professional 'mask on' quite well but worried it might slip a bit especially if I get the expected and total understandable angry patients .

Anyone got any tips for going back to work? Some people know but I feel that everyone will be staring at me or wondering what ' mystery illness' i have had for 2 weeks. I'm happy to be open about MC but....... also would feel awkward knowing other people know I am TTC.

TheBirdintheCave · 21/10/2022 10:32

@Sailawaygirl I took about three days off when I had my MMC but I work from home so it's slightly different I think. When I came back I sent an email to my colleagues explaining what had happened. Everyone was really supportive and I even got some stories from people who had experienced the same.

I don't think your patients will be angry at you if you explain you were ill (no need to tell them more than that unless you want to).

Sailawaygirl · 21/10/2022 10:44

@TheBirdintheCave
I can work from home but it gets very intense and is very involved in other people lives , supporting listening, caring. Plus the never ending waiting list and constant feeling of failure as not able to help everyone as quickly as we should be able too. I've been near burn out for last 2 years ( like most ppl in NHS). ( sorry NHS worker rant).

I knew I needed 2 weeks just to fully step back from work. But then stepping back in is hard. I'm sure I will open my emails on Monday and it won't be as bad as it fear. Plus hopefully anything urgent should have been dealt with by colleagues.

I've thought about an email. I think I feel comfortable letting people know face to face. I'm not always the best a wording emails. It's a hard email to write. But I will think about it after your suggestion.

We are almost an all female team so I can't be the only one to have had a MC. And then I worry that I have taken 2 weeks off when maybe others didn't and they think I'm 'milking it'. I'm not normally a worrier and my team is lovely....just really in my head this morning.

Fuckallthetories · 21/10/2022 10:47

Hi@Sailawaygirl when I had my mc, it took 2 weeks off, and thought it would be extremely awkward going back to work (I also work in healthcare, surgeon) but it wasn’t, my team where extremely understanding when I told them and didn’t bat an eyelid. I get what you mean about feeling you are ‘abandoning’ your patients, I felt like this to, particularly about this girl who had been waiting for a heart transplant for 5 years but you know these things happen, and one of the other specialists in my team did the operation. I also went out with my friends, just to feel more ‘normal’. I hope this is useful to you, it’s hard my love xxx

bunnykins123 · 21/10/2022 11:07

@Mariabombia thank you for your optimism 😘 unfortunately, I get bad pms now so I've had sore breasts for about a week now. Usually they stay sore until AF arrives but today they have stopped hurting and I have light brown spotting so I am 99.9% sure AF is around the corner! If I wasn't so I'll, I'd probably be really upset!

@Sailawaygirl I didn't take any time off but in hindsight that was a big mistake. I did tell my colleagues and was actually surprised at how helpful it was to talk and how supportive everyone was. I didn't get any silly comments like 'well at least you know you can get pregnant' and actually had people come forward regarding losses they had or their parents had which was reassuring. I think do what feels right for you. I wouldn't assume people would be thinking about what illness you had either - people get sick and take time off work for many reasons 💕

Mariabombia · 21/10/2022 11:17

@bunnykins123 well 🤞🏻 anyway love, & hope you feel better soon. Sending you a big cuddle.

@Sailawaygirl welcome to the group ♥️ I took 2 weeks off , I needed the first week as I was in so much physical pain & needed the second week as I was just so emotional, crying all the time. I'm so appreciative I was able to have that time to recover as if I had tried to oppress it all I think my mental health would have really taken a knock.

Sailawaygirl · 21/10/2022 11:37

@bunnykins123 @Fuckallthetories really nice to hear stories of supportive colleagues. I do feel a little more confident about Monday and telling people.

@Mariabombia yhank you. I also defo needed more than a week off due to pain and bleeding ++. I've only had a few tears but I tend to think I've delt with things and then it affects me a few months down the line.

ChloeN · 21/10/2022 12:01

Anyone else in the tww at the mo? I’m 8dpo, just got back from holiday so now nothing to distract me😭🤣 I’m not testing unless I miss a period (I hope) which is next weekend, feel like this will be the longest week ever 🤣

TheBirdintheCave · 21/10/2022 12:10

@ChloeN Good luck :D I made it til 12dpo without testing last month but now I have a fresh box of cheapies so I know I won't have that willpower this time around 😅

Luna57 · 21/10/2022 14:13

@Sailawaygirl sorry to hear about your Mc! You do need time off but also too much time off gets your brain ticking over time too. I haven’t been in work all of October because I can’t work while pregnant and they normally sort another job for you after your 12 week scan. I haven’t told my work I’ve had a Mc yet but hoping to go back to work start of November. I feel so nervous going back. Where I work they love the gossip so it’s been going around someone is pregnant I’ve even had a couple people (who I wouldn’t call friends) text me to try to get it out of me that I’m the pregnant one. Not sure what people gain from trying to find out who’s pregnant or not. I never told anyone in my work of my last mc but I feel like I might tell them this time if I get continuous “would you not have anymore kids” well I’m trying but my body is just rejecting it 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

bleeding is nearly over it’s more cm with some blood just I haven’t tested but I’d say I’m probably very nearly negative now if not negative. Premom is trying to say I’ll O in 6 days but I don’t use it to track ovulation I use it to log af so I never forget when I actually have one 😂 I haven’t had a proper menstrual period since June my bleeds have been Mc bleeding wondering should I try and have a proper af before dtd without caution?

Sailawaygirl · 21/10/2022 14:21

@Luna57 that sounds difficult, especially the texts to get you to reveal more info. Some people can be so nosey and seemingly without true caring. How long post MC are you? My bleeding / spotting ended 3 days ago but I am still a faint positive on tests. ( im 2 weeks post next Monday and they asked me to come back to hospital if still positive by then, but hopefully go going down).
Im sorry to read that you have had such a difficult journey since june. The advise to me was to have a natural period before TTC again , which I might follow but I do hope AF comes sooner so we can start TTC again. Also I'm desperate to have sex with OH! Just to connect on physical level again. I'm hoping it's OK now I'm 3 days no more spotting.
Never thought I would wanting a negative test !

mummatara · 21/10/2022 14:22

Welcome to all the new ladies sorry you're here❤️

@ChloeN oooh I hate 8dpo because it's so tempting 🙈 have you got any tests in the house?

@Luna57 I think people just like to feel they know something other people don't. Everyone in my office knows about both of mine but I am a small office with 5 other ladies so it's hard to hide anything and tbh it was nice to have the support esp as I've been in and out the office back and forth to the hospital 🙄

3rd blood test today hopefully will get results in about an hour. I checked weds level when I was there it was 1851 so nowhere near half of 2109 😂 but it's going down so that's all we care about

RaliaMusca · 21/10/2022 14:28

@Luna57 Regarding whether to wait for a period before ttc again, I think it's up to you. The docs normally advise to wait simply so the can date the pregnancy more easily. I wanted to get pregnant again asap and managed to catch the very first egg after my MMC. Plus I know when I conceived so the dating is fairly easy. But I've had all this stupid bleeding and wonder if I'd given my body the chance to "recalibrate" and have a proper clear-out, I might not have had any bleeding in the next pregnancy. But who knows, all these things are guessing games.

lizziecat1 · 21/10/2022 15:02

Flashing smiley face at last! Off we go......

@Sailawaygirl you are not old. I'm 45!!! Hope your return to work goes smoothly.

ChloeN · 21/10/2022 15:14

@TheBirdintheCave oooo you did so well!! It’s so hard to hold out 🤣

@mummatara yep I’ve got sooo many tests but I’m just trying to stop myself doing them for as long as poss. Let us know how your blood results go!

@Luna57 why are people so bloody nosey, that must be so annoying 😡

@lizziecat1 yipeee🤞🏻🥳🥳

FfayeN · 21/10/2022 17:17

I've had a quick catch up read, happy DTD for those of you with your fertile weeks on the way!!

I can't remember here who had spotting in early pregnancy but I have had the worst back ache today and I have very pale pink CM now. I am 20dpo now and panicking 😩😩😩. @RaliaMusca did yours do this?
I knew this would happen as soon as I sent the referral email and updated the doctors. 😣 xx
