@bunnykins123 tbh the doctor prescribed b12 low levels, folic acid is a necessity, vit d to help with covid (it did not work🙄) and q10 because of my ageing eggs so kind of a reason for each one ☺️ but I don't think I conceived this month. Gut feeling but I'll maybe test at 10dpo on Sunday to be sure x

FfayeN · 02/08/2022 06:11

@Aprilsunnyday any fertility clinic should be able to offer more comprehensive tests than just AMH. Where abouts are you in the country? No problem at all I know how frustrating it can be ☺️
@bunnykins123 I have tried both pregnacare and supermarket own prenatals and they have all made me feel really sick. Now I stick to folic acid, vitamin D, CoQ10, omega 3 😊. Having a longer LP is not a bad thing, even better if she doesn't show up at all this month 😉 xx

Skylark1990 · 02/08/2022 06:58

Hey all just want to jump on the vitamin chat. Pregnacare also messed with my stomach and actually the ingredients in it aren't great! I started taking a more naturally derived prenatal either from the brand Terra Nova or Cytoplan, both really good and very easily absorbed as from food sources. Ofc if you don't do well with multis they may also still not be great. In terms of isolated vitamins good for TTC, b6 can really help regulate luteal phase, vitamin c ditto, and omega 3 and vitamin e can also help build up lining and help with blood flow etc. Brazil nuts are also really good I think due to being high in selenium! I got obsessed with all this over the last few months 😅💗

Skylark1990 · 02/08/2022 06:59

Oh an maca is also great for regulating hormones. I'm sure many of you have tried all this already ofc!

Skylark1990 · 02/08/2022 07:07

Plus all the usual ones like folate , vitamin D and coq10 really good too as others have said.

I had a vitamin D test in march and they said it was normal but when I got my actual levels back a couple weeks ago I realised it was only 50nmol which is lower edge of normal and actually for fertility 100nmol is optimal. So I started taking a bit more vitamin D to top up Hopefully as it could definitely have been linked to my mcs. So can be worth getting actual levels of everything back even of tests or doctors say within normal range. Same with iron, it was "normal" but almost on threshold of too low and I think for TTC and Pregnancy we actually often need higher levels ideally. Just a thought!

I'm sorry to those that feel AF is approaching. I hope she stays away! This whole TTC thing is such a huge test of patience.

bunnykins123 · 02/08/2022 07:37

@Skylark1990 I think it's a bit of a minefield and a bit contradictory. On the one hand, you read that taking a multivitamin is good for fertility and then on the other, it's not really needed. I've been taking a whole range of vits (but only the multivits this cycle) so they obviously have done something whacky to my cycle 😂 how are you doing? Are your tests progressing nicely?

@MrsCristiano I was taking all that too (apart from last month 🙄) but switched b12 to zinc. Ahh is there any reason why you think you're out? Or just intuition?

@FfayeN my luteal phase is already 13/14 days which feels like a lifetime. For it to be extended further is just 🫠 I started spotting today so at least it looks like AF is coming!

@bunnykins123 we didn't DTD the day of peak or the day before peak or even after the peak. DH was too tired 😪 and then I got a bit pissed off 😤

FfayeN · 02/08/2022 07:50

@Skylark1990 I'm the same I became a bit of a Google wizard!
I also take selenium as it'll naturally help my thyroid (though I had to check my Iodine as to increase one without regulating the other can be risky with thyroid issues). I also was taking myo-inositol which is meant to really regulate cycles but after reading it wasn't recommended for low AMH I've knocked that on the head. We can only do what we have the capacity to do but I also recommend getting the exact figures from your GP (you can apply for these through the NHS app). Xx

LuckyMoonstone · 02/08/2022 08:26

@bunnykins123 just vit D, vit C (I heard it was good for ovulating but it hasn’t helped bring it forward this month, oh well) and folic acid

Skylark1990 · 02/08/2022 08:49

@bunnykins123 I'm doing ok thank you, still doesn't feel real in many ways as such early days. Trying not to jump ahead too much (I always work out key dates like the 12 week mark etc as soon as I'm pregnant). Hoping august is a good month with a few things planned to distract me. I just kinda want to forget I'm pregnant till I'm further along and feel more secure ... Ofc this is impossible!

And yes it's hard to know with the vitamins. It can stress us out which definitely isn't helpful. But equally I think unless we are super on it with healthy eating it's easy to get depleted these days with the modern lifestyle and diet, so some good quality vitamins and minerals can really help to supplement with. I think it's also about quality as if better quality more readily absorbed etc! I think vitamin D is especially important in the UK and has been directly linked to miscarriage if deficient. And the level they advise is piddly, loads of research suggesting for fertility and health we need a lot more.

@FfayeN so much googling 😅😅 I've actually heard that about inositol, I've heard it's good for pcos but can also badly affect fertility (I think) in other situations... Glad you have found a good balance for you now! When are you due to ovulate? X

mummatara · 02/08/2022 08:55

I've woken up with heartburn this morning which I never get not even in my first pregnancy 🙄 but feeling a lot better in the covid dept so that's good 🥳

curliegirlie · 02/08/2022 09:09

CD13 and looks like my cycle will be different this time - no positive OPKs or temp rises yet! I hate this bit waiting for ov (particularly when it means having to carry on DTD throughout the week when knackered with work), but we did quite a bit in the last few days so I'm hoping it'll be the next day or so 🤞🤞

@LuckyMoonstone great you got to ov this cycle! Which CD was it?

I can't believe how quickly time has gone this year, and I'm bang in the middle of cycle 6 already. It would have been nice, seeing as my last TTC journeys were so long, for things to be quicker this time round, but I honestly don't know I've we'll make it by our end of year deadline...

LuckyMoonstone · 02/08/2022 09:54

@curliegirlie it was CD29!! 😫

Indianna2006 · 02/08/2022 11:25

@curliegirlie mines doing the same!! Grrr. Should be today but nope…

@LuckyMoonstone cycle day 29!! Ugh. Altho mine is not following suit this month 😂😂

CD13 and always ovulate today usually. Opks still super low like 0.16. Hmph

😂 maybe later today or tomo see a rise.

i don’t like the dtd too much. Worry it depletes it. Anyone else worry about that.

curliegirlie · 02/08/2022 11:35

Ha, well DD2 was conceived on the cycle I ovulated on CD24! Thing is, I don't really care on which CD I ovulate, just would be nice if it wasn't completely random each damn cycle...

theblueflowers · 02/08/2022 12:17

@Indianna2006 if it helps, my consultation said that you can't dtd enough. It is not depleted enough to make a difference, as it only takes one! He said this advice is given more so there aren't any performance or fatigue issues.

FfayeN · 02/08/2022 12:18

@Skylark1990 that's it, meant to be great for PCOS. I used to O on day 13/14, but since my latest MC it's 17/18 so hopefully it will be next Thursday when I can get back home to see DH 🤣.
I do hope you find enough distraction this month, those first few weeks for us bring a lot of worry and if you can manage to get through a few moments not thinking about being pregnant all the better! 🤞🏼

Skylark1990 · 02/08/2022 14:19

@FfayeN and @bunnykins123 Just had my tests at the Coventry clinic, they are so nice! I told them about the pregnancy but that is very early days and that I haven't missed a period yet (it would be due tomorrow). She said it's fine and shouldn't throw them off if it's early on. So I was able to have them all. She also said they would book me for a 7 and 10 week scan, which is really lovely as don't think my local EPU does this. So I'm feeling the long drive there and back was worth it! Just hoping when I test again tomorrow there is some good progression and that AF doesn't arrive.

Thank you all so much for your support and best best best of luck and baby dust to you all. I hope I'm not back here again for obvious reasons but I'm glad to know there is a supportive bunch on here if the worst does happen... So thank you. And if you have had recurrent miscarriage and live anywhere near Coventry I highly recommend getting referred to the Tommy's clinic there ❤️💗 xxx

FfayeN · 02/08/2022 14:23

@Skylark1990 thanks so much for keeping us updated. I'm glad they were as good for you as they were for me, it's so encouraging 🥰. Sending you lots of positive vibes for tomorrow xx

LuckyMoonstone · 02/08/2022 15:23

@Skylark1990 ah I’m so glad you had a good experience with them!

I hope I don’t ever need to use it, but I’m not too far from there so it’s good to know :)

bunnykins123 · 02/08/2022 16:27

@Skylark1990 that's great news! Best of luck and hoping AF stays away for you tomorrow 🤞

@theblueflowers that's really interesting. I always thought it was better to do it every other day? Will defo change tactics next month and see if a change in frequency will help. I just worry that DH will be able to keep up though!

@Indianna2006 hopefully you'll get your peak asap! I worry about that too - and DH being able to keep up with so much bding!

@curliegirlie totally agree. It's the uncertainly that causes so much stress. Why can't we just O on the same day every month?!

@mummatara ooooo what CD day are you?! That's a promising symptom!

@MrsCristiano we didn't last month either, annoyingly my peak fell on the 40c day and I don't think either of us were up for it!! 🥵

OP posts:
Indianna2006 · 02/08/2022 17:14

The OPK was up this afternoon from 0.15 this morning to 0.39 so think we’re on the rise 🤞🏼

what’s weird is I haven’t ovulated on CD14 like hardly ever since I’ve been ttc.

And if I ovulate tomorrow. I will ovulate and have the due date if I fell pregnant on this cycle as I did with the first baby I lost 6 years ago.

exact same dates. Trying not to read into that. 🙈

Aprilsunnyday · 02/08/2022 17:26

Presently83 · 01/08/2022 11:06

Hi girls,

Hoping I can join: TTC my first after two MMCs, one in October one in June. Ignoring OPKs and just DTD every/every other day from CD9, now on CD16 so either have ovulated or will do soon. Had some left side twinges on Saturday (usually ovulate CD14/15) which is annoying as my left tube is blocked 😫

Really hoping it happens for us this month or next as I'm 39 so we've decided to do IVF in October if not pregnant by then.

Why is this all so laborious!?!

I am sorry for your loss but it is really great you are trying and hope the effort will be rewarded. It is not easy to go through one mc, let alone two or multiples. Life in ttc is just not that easy I feel and we can seem a bit obsessed to other people who experience things differently.
Good luck!! X

mummatara · 02/08/2022 17:32

@bunnykins123 only 6DPO I don't really know if it's too early for symptoms 🤔 I never had any with my others until about 6 weeks but it does seem very strange I've had it alllllll day too 🙄

MrsCristiano · 02/08/2022 19:58
