Hi all, I was on the last thread for a bit, hope you're all doing well ☺️

I have a post miscarriage cycle question I was hoping someone might be able to help with. Is it common for post miscarriage cycle madness to affect your basal temp raises?

My last two cycles (first two after miscarriage), I've had EWCM and static smiley (positive opk) quite early in my cycle and both times my temp has not risen. My app then seems to randomly put my ovulation around cycle day 20-24 because I have a slight temp bump then, but I'm sure I haven't ovulated then (no EWCM, no nothing). I used to have a 26 day cycle and ovulate around day 12/13 like clockwork.

It's driving me mad because the apps making it look like I didn't dtd at my fertile period but I'm sure I did because of the OPKs?? Any thoughts or advice grately appreciated :D

@Tor88 could you possible attach photos of your app and cycle? May be easier to look at 😊

dtd 3 days in a row and last night was a mission session to get DH to finish. But we got there.

So the first month (June/July) I'm pretty sure I actually ovulated on cycle day 16 but it's put it at cycle day 22. This month it's put it in the right place but that's only because it keep deleting recent temperatures because it keeps wanting to put it at a few days ago (cycle day 20), which im so sure isn't right!

@Indianna2006 thanks lovely! I'm okay, cd2 - AF arrives on time actually, just no signs she was coming which threw me. Not sure what I'm more annoyed about - the fact that AF arrives or that I wasted a FRER 😂 oh wowzers! Hopefully you didn't beat @MrsCristiano record of a 45minute session!

@Tor88 welcome back! Hmm I'm not a temp expert but comparing the tests it doesn't look like you have O'd yet. So you had EWCM and a static earlier in the cycle? You may get another surge a bit later on in your cycle (I don't think that's uncommon after a miscarriage as hormones can be a bit jumpy)

@Tor88 okay so before the mc how long were your cycles usually and what day did you usually ovulate as far as you’re aware?

the first chart I can see why it’s put it on CD22 as you do seem to have had a temp shift there but equally prior to CD16 you don’t really have any data for temperatures so makes it hard to see if ovulation could of been at CD16. But if it was you got you period like 14 days later like CD30 would would seem more accurate than only 8/9 luteal phase.

the chart for this month. Doesn’t seem like you have a shift in temperature at all. Have you been continuing opks after like CD 16 to see what they say or not?
from the current chart this month doesn’t look like you have yet ovulated. Those temps are all very much the same. Are you taking it consistently same time every day?

@Tor88 oh I just see about your cycle lengths before. Hmmm yes doesn’t seem to be the same as before does it. Maybe just a few off cycles for you. I’d keep taking opks while cycle to see if your get s further rise. It could be your body tried to ovulate. Get all the signs. But fails. An does it again later on.

@bunnykins123 oh that’s good. Yes once it comes you get your head round it. It took me almost all of my period to come out of my funky head space this time. It’s sucky.

yes I think we prob did beat @MrsCristiano session. Not even joking 🙈🙈 I was thinking just bloody hurry up. He was good tho an said we need this jizz don’t we. Yes Yes we do 😂😂 so we stopped for a bit and went at it again half hour later and bingo. Thank god.

but if I get opk positive later or tomo we gotta do more dtd. Fml!! Lol

@Indianna2006 pre miscarriage, my cycles were very regular - 26/27 days with ovulation consistently around day 11/12/13. I've had two miscarriages this year but both times caught pretty quickly using clear blue digital ovulation sticks, so I do trust them. The last two cycles ive had EWCM and static smiley on clearblue quite early on my cycle (day 9/10 this month - the month before was immediately post miscarriage so harder to tell but it was only 5/6 days after bleeding stopped), but as you say this hasn't been followed by a temp rise either time.

I do temp same time every morning, I'm a slightly erratic sleeper so this could impact things but I have been tracking this way for over a year and it's usually easy to see the temp rise pattern. So it's all very strange. Last month's 30 day cycle was the longest I've ever had, but it was the first one after my second miscarriage and of course the miscarriage sends things haywire. It's just odd that it's 2 months on the trot with positive OPK and no sustained temp rise until nearer the end of my cycle, I'm so sure the app is wrong about when I'm ovulating. Frustratingly natural cycles only takes temp into account, not CM or OPK...

@Indianna2006 ah thanks just seen your second reply. I did keep using OPKs for a few days after what I thought was ovulation this month and was getting negatives so I stopped. I guess next month I'll just use them all month regardless. It's just strange though coz if I am to believe the app then I'm not getting any EWCM at ovualtion which is very unusual for me. I basically think that I'm ovualting when I think I am but I'm just not seeing a temp rise for some reason... But it does seem very odd 2 months running. Ugh, the mysteries we have to untangle eh!? Thanks for your advice xxx

@Tor88 yes it is all very annoying!! Hmm sometimes our bodies can go haywire after as if it tried to ovulate and failed and did again. I have had cycles where EWCM doesn’t match up but my temps did to confirm it was then.

If it’s any help, as your cycles were like 26 days before with ovulation like CD12/13 seems to suggest you have like a 13/14 day luteal phase. And that shouldn’t really change. Ie miscarriage won’t if made they go haywire. Just when ovulation occurs even if it does.
max luteal phase is like 16 days. So whenever your period shows and your cycle ends. Take off 14 days from that and it’s likely when ovulation happened.

ie your last cycle of 30 days. You take 14 day off for your luteal phase length. Gives you your CD16 you think happened on which does make sense. But it won’t of been CD12 for example as that would be 18 day luteal phase which just wouldn’t happen. Hope that makes sense 😅 guess only time will tell as to when this AF arrive. Even if it does 🤞🏼👶🏼

@Indianna2006 yes that makes perfect sense, I was wondering if it could have affected my luteal phase or not. So looking back at June that adds up with the OPKs being correct about ovualtion and the temps/app being wrong. I guess it's also possible I'm just having a few anovulatory cycles.. thanks so much for your advice 🙏

@Tor88 yes it does seem to add up. But yes your also right could be a few cycles without ovulation. Hopefully after this cycle next one will be clearer for you 🤞🏼

In terms of apps I've always found Fertility Friend brilliant and very responsive to the actual data you input (something that doesn't seem to happen with PreMom, despite all its fancy assessing of OPKs).

CD14 and still like you @Indianna2006 - OPKs of below 0.2, despite having had odd bits of EWCM. No idea what's going on. When last TTC I actually ovulated on CD24 on the cycle I caught - I hope I haven't still got 10 days to go 😩

@curliegirlie ugh so annoying. I’ll check later about 2pm. I’ve deff had some EWCM for like 2/3 days so think it has to be soon.

but I’m worn out now 😂🍆

@curliegirlie I used Premom just for the opk pictures, ovusense for tracking my BBT, and fertility friend for all my actual notes and cycle tracking 😂 all lined up next to each other on my phone 🤣

@bunnykins123 🤣 well I haven't eaten curry for about a week so that theory is out 🙊 thankfully it's gone today!

@Tor88 welcome back, hope you're doing okay. I've personally never temped so don't really understand it. But I find the CB OPKs pretty reliable.

6DPO today, time is going slowww 😩 No symptoms yet. Just lots of creamy CM, but that could mean either way!

@Indianna2006 oh nooooo you have my deepest sympathy 😂 you handled it a lot better than me I just told him to get off me 😅 it was my peak day so I wasn't trying anytime soon after. I had a hateful day at work yesterday so sorry for the radio silence but 6dpo today I squished my boobs into a bodysuit and they hurt. And I have a little CM today. Not much else.

A HUGE temp drop followed by 3 rises and ovusense still doesn’t want to admit I’ve ovulated ffs. This is the biggest temp difference I’ve had by 3dpo. Usually takes until 5/6dpo to have one whole degree difference

@LuckyMoonstone that looks very promising! Surprised ovusense hasn't confirmed O as that's a pretty textbook temp shift there 🤷‍♀️

@MrsCristiano my sympathies, work was god awful for me too. In fact most days are like that at work at the moment and most days I just want to jack it all in. Hoping the boobie pain is hormonal and not from squishing!

@Astar21 cm is good I think! I didn't have much this cycle. I think it shows progesterone is on the up.

@curliegirlie how annoying! Did you start using opks quite early this cycle too? Always the way, just when you think you've cracked it.

@LuckyMoonstone do you also plug your temps into FF? What does that say?

@bunnykins123 why is it so god awful atm??!! I was for quitting last night too but decided I would sleep on it. I'm also too high maintenance for no money 😅 might test Sunday at 10dpo then leave it to AF. I have no self control

@bunnykins123 it did the same thing last month even when I ovulated much earlier so it’s not like it’s put off by the long cycle. For the money I’ve paid for it it’s a bit stupid. Although at least I know from my temps and other signs that I’ve definitely ovulated.
