I am actually on annual leave now so no work this week which is probably good..

Sorry to be overtaking this thread today with my messages but last food for thought - it is hitting very hard because children is something that is truly missing from our life. We live in a place where not much happens at all and is generally seen as a family place/place to raise kids. Plus we live in a suburb where, again, there is 0 action and people move there to raise kids. Our social life is not great and we mainly just 'exist' in the evenings/weekends after work. There is not much else happening and maybe if there was, it would be easier to keep ourselves distracted.
Transferred test photo to the PC but quality is so bad and everything is looking even more faint... Will not upload as it really looks like bad news due to PC quality :(

MrsCristiano · 18/08/2022 08:40

@Pancake92 sorry to hear this. There's nothing easy about losing any pregnancy. What @mummatara recommended about medicheks is spot on. They are accurate and it might help with the god awful limbo. Take care it isn't over yet ❤️

Indianna2006 · 18/08/2022 08:56

@Pancake92 sorry to read about this. It’s awful to get excited and almost have it snatched away again almost instantly. Look after yourself. None of this trying for babies business is easy at all. Constant anxiety!

FfayeN · 18/08/2022 09:32

@Pancake92 there's some great advice coming out. Is there anyway you could have a hobby? Nothing intense, but maybe baking, puzzles, any kind of craft you could start up? Nothing too intense but something to keep you distracted? I'm 36 and LOVED me a puzzle during lockdown 🤣.

I'm feeling very confused. Got yesterday wrong and I'm actually 12dpo today. Yesterday I had very very light brown CM and today I've got what feels like ovulation pains. I know it isn't that but could it be implantation? I've got a FRER for tomorrow morning so going to test then. X

Pancake92 · 18/08/2022 10:56

Thank you everyone for everything and for recommendations re blood draws.

I should be getting another box of easy@home tests from amazon today and will be trying them on FMU sample from this morning which I kept (yuck 😆) just to see if it was a faulty batch... Did an early clearblue so that was faint positive and tested with a 25miU/ml ASDA one - faint positive but not a squinter.

My DP is such a good person and he would be an amazing dad. So sad for him, too.

As for hobbies, oh dear, I had so many...! I used to bake lots, read every evening, cross stitch, paint, go for walks, you name it. I lost all joy in life though so now I am just in bed when not at work. There are some good days though!

Pancake92 · 18/08/2022 10:57

oh and @FfayeN good luck for tomorrow ❤ I was certainly feeling some tension in my uterus with the previous pregnancy so fingers crossed x

theblueflowers · 18/08/2022 11:31

Oh @Pancake92 I'm so sorry that you have been through such a time of it these past few days. I totally get how all consuming it is, especially when you are TTC no.1. We're not where we're meant to be, and that's hard, but we will get there.

Luna57 · 18/08/2022 11:38

@Pancake92 so sorry you’re having to go through this and for your doctor to be so insensitive as well. Fingers crossed for you and sending a virtual hug!

@FfayeN you could be implanting late, let us know tomorrow morning the verdict. Im 6dpo today and yesterday I had dull cramps and achy hips too. 5dpo would be too early for implantation surely? This cycle has been so different to any of my others because of the MC so I could be due AF without realising.

FfayeN · 18/08/2022 11:42

@Luna57 I've read implantation can be anytime from 6-12 days 🤞🏼. Here's hoping xx

Mariabombia · 18/08/2022 13:32

This thread moves so quickly ladies! It's not even that busy compared to some of the boards and I can't keep up 😅

3 weeks after mc and I've done my first test this morning and it's positive 😞 went for a scan 2 weeks ago and they told me they couldn't see any tissue left but I'm freaking out a bit that there's retained products and I'll have to have surgery!!

The nurse did tell us to not ttc until after my first period but maybe stupidly we have just been dtd as normal not really thinking about it. Not been ttc but not been using contraception either. Anyway it took us so long the first time I doubt this could be a new pregnancy and surely it wouldn't show this early. We first dtd about 11 days ago.

Going to wait for the weekend and retest as that's when the main part of the mc happened (3 weeks ago).

Thank you for your lovely msg @MrsCristiano I hope you are doing well? Is this your first cycle ttc since mc? Oh that's so sad you remember me from there , I remember feeling absolutely elated when I posted about it. All the best to you for this cycle ♥️

@Tor88 your msg was so lovely, thank you so much. How are you doing? I know how you must be feeling , each month when I was ttc was so difficult and you just feel like time is running out. I'm 32 and have the exact same panicked feeling as I also would like two children. Most of my friends already have children, most of their conversations are about children and sometimes I just feel so triggered even being around them, it's awful. No one can really understand until they have been through something like this, you are not alone ♥️

I just can't believe they don't do tests until a woman has had 3 mcs. It's just baffling.

@Pancake92 sending you all the love , please keep talking to us and telling us how you're doing xx

FfayeN · 18/08/2022 13:44

@Mariabombia I was still testing positive 5 weeks after my MC but I hope it is something new for you 🥰. They recommend a cycle inbetween purely to help with dating I believe xxx

Mariabombia · 18/08/2022 14:33

@FfayeN did they do any tests on you after 3 weeks to check you were okay ? I think most likely I just had high hcg levels so they're taking a while to go down.
Thanks for your response xx

Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Margo34 · 18/08/2022 14:37

@Mariabombia yes me 🙋‍♀️I went to EPAU for a scan to check for any retained product just in case (there wasn't, MC was complete).

AwayWeGo22 · 18/08/2022 14:43

Hi @Mariabombia, I’m sorry for your loss. If they’ve already scanned you and said nothing is left then I guess anything that is left will probably come away naturally with your next period and is likely to be very small. Definitely contact your epau if you haven’t already though to check they’re advice as they might want to scan again.
I hope you don’t mind me asking but are you still bleeding? I had retained products after my mmc and was still bleeding at 3 weeks after an MVA (removal under local anaesthetic) which is how I knew something was up. Bleeding wasn’t fading away like it should, it would be fine for a few hours then heavy again for a few minutes and repeat. Sorry if that’s tmi! Anyway they refused to scan me as it was “too early” since the loss then I had a haemorrhage and had to go to a&e! In summary, follow the advice of your epau but if your bleeding has settled and you don’t have any signs of infection (pain, high temperature, smelly discharge) I wouldn’t worry too much! That’s just my experience though so definitely talk to your doctors!!! Xxx

FfayeN · 18/08/2022 14:47

@Mariabombia no I had a D&C and they did say I could test positive up to 6 weeks. Luckily I then came on around that time and my levels dropped after that. Everyone is different so it can be a worry when you feel like it's dragging on. I did have some bleeding for about 3 weeks after though too. xx

Mariabombia · 18/08/2022 14:53

@AwayWeGo22 sorry to hear about your experience , that sounds so scary bless you, I'm shocked they didn't scan you again when you asked, that's really poor care.

I am starting to feel like woman's maternity care is seriously lacking. Hope you're okay now and thank you so much for the advice, I plan on calling epau after I've done another test if it's still positive but I just want to double check.

Its incredibly difficult dealing with a mc and I have been at least somewhat thankful that I've not had to have any medical or surgical management so I'm really hoping this doesn't amount to that 😫

Xx

Mariabombia · 18/08/2022 14:57

@AwayWeGo22 sorrry just realised I didn't answer you question. No I'm not bleeding, I only bled for a week. No weird smells, bit of a pinchy feeling in my left pelvic area the other day but I was thinking that could maybe be Ovulation or even gas or something 😅

@FfayeN ah okay, bless you ♥️ hope you're doing okay now . I just my hormone levels drop soon :/

Does anyone know if you can get pregnant with hcg still in your system ?
Xxx

AwayWeGo22 · 18/08/2022 14:58

Thanks @Mariabombia it wasn’t great but I’m absolutely fine now and so thankful to be healthy again! That sounds like a good plan to me, keep us updated with what they say. Might also be helpful to keep your tests to look for reverse line progression? Then at least you’ll know your levels are heading in the right direction. If you end up with medical or surgical management let me know if you have any questions, I had both so more than happy to offer my experience xx

FfayeN · 18/08/2022 15:02

@AwayWeGo22 @Mariabombia this was back in March so luckily back to normal (ish) now. Also happy to assist where I can as I've had both D&C and natural MC too 😘 xx

mummatara · 18/08/2022 15:06

@Mariabombia I tested positive for 6 weeks after mmc surgical procedure. I got my period 5 weeks after. I had a scan for retained products there were none it was just taking a while to go.

mummatara · 18/08/2022 15:10

@Mariabombia I don't know about getting pregnant with hcg in the system though @MrsCristiano might be able to help with this as I'm sure she spoke to me about it when I was waiting for mine to drop. But out of interest I tracked bbt and ovulation the whole time between procedure and my period and I did not ovulate at all maybe the hcg prevented it?

Tor88 · 18/08/2022 15:12

@Mariabombia 🧡🧡 a what a pain. I had a faint positive 3 weeks after my last miscarriage, scan was clear so I was absolutely convinced it was a new pregnancy as I was getting all sorts of weird cramps and AF was very late. But she came and I'll never know whether it was left over hormones or a very brief chemical, but I suspect it was the former and not a new pregnancy. It's all such a nightmare isn't it, you just need your cycle to reset

Pancake92 · 18/08/2022 15:15

Personally, I think it is possible to get pregnant with hCG in the system. So many stories from people who conceived again before they even got their first period, I was watching youtube as obsessed shortly after first miscarriage and remember finding multiple people who got pregnant after DTD once at like 2 weeks post m/c (and at that stage a lot of people would still have hCG I think!).

Tor88 · 18/08/2022 15:15

I wondered if anyone here has had any experience with baby aspirin when they haven't been under EPU care?? I did some private testing after my second MC and the Dr recommended I take aspirin from day 1 of my next pregnancy but ONLY if my pregnancy is monitored by an EPU and I can get a scan to check progress at 6 weeks etc. I was dubious but the dr seemed convinced I would get this support. Anyway I've tried my drs and no they won't give me monitoring until I've had a third miscarriage so what I'm wondering is - do I take the aspirin anyway, without the monitoring, just in case??

I'm not pregnant again yet, just trying to plan as best I can 🧡

Pancake92 · 18/08/2022 15:54

Officially out. Started cramping and spotting.
We will try again. One thing I need to do for sure is to stop obsessing over getting pregnant.
