Hey ladies I have been brave and started new thread.
Aquababe will not have to look at her thread opener again.

OP posts:
aquababe · 21/01/2008 11:42

albs so hoping for good news for you!

Kasha hope you are ok too

cricri thanks for that link most useful.

sorry to those who have joined us.

tjuice glad to hear your doing ok

so had cd1 on jan 5th now on day cd16 and still on off bleeding not so much really bleeding as little trickles every now and then, basically tailing off the same way as my mc did. it's driving me crazy as since end of nov I've only had ten days bleed free.
has anyone else had this don't know whether to worry or not

oh and husbands can say the silliest things

KashaSarrasin · 21/01/2008 13:56

albs hope you and your bean are OK ((hugs))

devon1 Sorry about your mc. I wanted to try again straight away after my first mc too. As long as there's no specific reason why you should wait (like ectopic/molar pg) it should be OK as soon as you're ready - I did a lot of reading about this and couldn't find any evidence that you're at higher risk of mc again if you get pg straight away.

splish and cricri some people need to engage their brains before opening their mouths!!!

I had my EPU scan this morning - miraculously little bean is still there and well and grown from 8.2mm last Wednesday to 11mm today! The sonographer couldn't find any obvious reason for the bleed. I was so relieved, both DH and I were convinced it was all over. I'm trying my hardest to stop worrying so much now, but it's still going to be a long slow journey through the 1st trimester.

Thank you so much for all of your support and wishes, it really has made me feel better!

ClairePO · 21/01/2008 14:13

That's great news Kasha

Emmsy1 · 21/01/2008 14:23

Kasha great news for you, really pleased all is ok X
cricri and splish I second what kasha said, people should engage their brains before opening their mouths.
Devon1 I'm not very good when it comes to advice about m/c, there are lots of people on this site that are though! lots of {{{{hugs}}} sent your way x

sfxmum · 21/01/2008 14:24

oh Kasha that is lovely so pleased for you

alittlebitshy · 21/01/2008 14:49

Kasha- that's fabulous!!!

Like you we were convinced it was over. I was sure I had cramping as well as the bleeding (which admittedly had slowed down).
Got to Fetal Medicine Centre, where nuchal scan was booked. said i didn't want the blood test unless i knew i had viable pg (well, i sobbed, dh translated).

waited ages, saw mums with bumps and mums with scan pics. wanted to throttle the lot of them.

then went in for scan and within second saw a HEARTBEAT and a perfectly ok 12+1 baby.

no idea on the bleed(s). Dr man type person said it is most likely the placenta attaching or a blood vessel bursting as i expand.....
Still worried, but for now .

And baby would not perforom for the bit where dr needed to see neck. sent us away for lunch.(and the bloods i'd refused earlier) then was about to send us away again to drink something sweet and have a walk when baby leapt over and obliged. phew.

Thanks for all the finger crossing etc.

Congratulations albs and kasha! Fabulous news!

sweetkitty · 21/01/2008 15:10

kasha and ALBS - great news for you both bit of good news on this bleak Monday is fantastic. ALBS - when are you due July or August you are only a few weeks behind me? I had bleeding at 10 weeks and thought it was all over too but little bean was hanging on in there, they like to make us worry. I am still stressing about this one and I felt him/her move last night again but I still worry. Don't think I will stop until he/she's here then I don't ever have to think about ttc or mcs again, feel like this pregnancy has been ruined in some ways, I think I will feel better after the 20 week scan and if all is well I will look forward to the second half.

devon1 - sorry to hear about your mc, you have come to the right place though lots of kindness and support here. I had my mc in August and got a BFP in October, we started ttc again straight away, I go with my body I had actually ovulated before my mc bleeding had stopped as I had a period a few weeks after the bleeding stopped. I thought well if I'm ovulating then my body is ready again so we went for it. Had one other period and then I was pregnant again. It's a very personal decision some women want to get pregnant again straight away (me I was a bit too obsessed) others wants to wait. There is absolutely no medical reason to wait maybe have a look on the miscarriage association's website get your DH to read it too maybe that will convince him a bit more, best of luck to you.

and at all the insensitive comments people eh?

cricri · 21/01/2008 15:18

Kasha and ALBS, brilliant news! I'm so pleased for you both and hope you can relax a little now (impossible, I know!).
Hope everybody else is OK on yet another wet and windy day here (will it ever end?!).

sfxmum · 21/01/2008 15:20

fantastic news ALBS did you feel like hugging everyone afterwards?

ClairePO · 21/01/2008 16:06

That is great news ALBS

cece · 21/01/2008 16:08

What lovely news to read on such a miserable day

aquababe · 21/01/2008 16:41

fab news albs and kasha

coolkat · 21/01/2008 17:30

Really pleased for you ALBS and Kasha. So nice to hear good news.

Hope your all ok. Sorry you have had to join us Devon.

Well ladies first AF since MC about stopped so on wth the BD again.

alittlebitshy · 21/01/2008 17:35

i wouldn't go so far as to say i felt like hugging the people i'd felt like throttling earlier, but i was at least able to hold my head up and even managed to read a trashy magazine while i waited. earlier i'd sat there feeling and prob looking miserable.

Cece - how's the infection? when do you have to go back to be re scanned to check what's going on in there?

splishsplosh · 21/01/2008 18:43

Kasha & ALBS, that is such great news, I'm so happy for you both.

Well, I was unable to resist the temptation of the spare test I had in the house, suddenly got a mad urge to know 1 way or other, though af only a day late, and although I hadn't bothered to read the instructions, so only dipped it in a pot of wee for 5 seconds instead of 20, i got a bfp!!!

Feel excited and happy in 1 way, but also have this feeling like it's just bound to go wrong.

It's all a bit crazy, relationship issues, and was meant to go back to uni in September....

alittlebitshy · 21/01/2008 18:45

YAY splishsplosh.
congrats!!!

mmm, the naivety and innocence of pregnancy = baby goes in an instant when you have a m/c. But it will most likely be all fine

ClairePO · 21/01/2008 19:13

oh wow splishsplosh that is great news, congratulations am wishing you lots of sticky healthy thoughts

aquababe · 21/01/2008 19:51

oh congrats on BFP

going back to uni probably did it

ronshar · 21/01/2008 20:04

Yipee the first BFP of the thread. Well done

OP posts:
KashaSarrasin · 21/01/2008 20:05

albs so glad to hear everything's OK with you too!

splishsplosh wow! Fantastic news! Congratulations, and ots and lots of sticky vibes!

KashaSarrasin · 21/01/2008 20:06

lots and lots of sticky vibes, obviously

cricri · 21/01/2008 20:27

Congrats Splishsplosh!
Today was meant to be the most miserable day of the year, but not on this thread!

splishsplosh · 21/01/2008 20:41

Thank you everyone for all your positive thoughts. I just hope I can actually hang on to this one.
Must have been the worry about how dd would take to full time childcare in September after having me all day for 2 years that did it!
