Clomid TTC

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone who is currently TTC with Clomid fancied joining a TTC thread? I've had a look and can't see a recent one.

My husband and I have been trying for approx 2 years. I have PCOS and also had a congenital uterine defect (complete septum) which was operated on and fixed in November 2021.

We paid for a private appointment with a gynaecologist yesterday who prescribed 6 months of Clomid. I'm starting off cycle 1 with 50mg and will have a transvaginal ultrasound around CD 10-14.

My period is due in about 3 weeks but ofc with PCOS this is approximate and it might be early/late. My consultant also prescribed norithesterone to bring on a period if it's delayed. I'm tempted to start it soon so I can get cracking with Clomid - patience isn't my strong point!

Would be great to hear from anyone else in a similar position and hopefully share our BFPs in the coming months. TTC can be a lonely time and I've decided to not tell my family/friends about Clomid as it upsets me too much when I have to tell them I'm still not pregnant.

Thanks @QueenBee22. I had mine today but didn't have any scans to confirm follicle size, was just told by my doctor to have the injection on CD12. Hopefully my follicle was the right size 🤞

@lucymc11 I have irregular periods and long cycles so I had to be scanned. It was as late as CD21 one month when I triggered! If you have a regular enough cycle CD12 would be fine though,

lucymc11 · 08/12/2022 15:12

Ladies today I took my first ever OPK where the test line is darker than the control line! It got a 1.08 on Premom and usually what I thought was my peak in the previous cycles was only getting around 0.8. Can't upload the photo on here for some reason but I'm hoping the trigger shot has worked its magic. 🤞

@lucymc11 thats exciting!!! There’s lots of ovulation happening ladies very positive. Everything crossed for you 🤞🤞

SusieNI · 08/12/2022 18:51

@lucymc11 oh* *amazing!!! Delighted for you :) there must be something to this trigger shot then😍

Harper02 · 08/12/2022 18:54

Yay fingers crossed @lucymc11! Was it an HCG trigger?

lucymc11 · 09/12/2022 09:38

Yes it was @Harper02 on CD12

I've taken another OPK this morning and it's even darker

If I really do ovulate this cycle it's making me think I've never ovulated before as they've never been this dark!

@lucymc11 I wouldn’t discount any previous OPK’s as the trigger could have something to do with how dark it’s gone this month x

Harper02 · 09/12/2022 14:55

Have you ladies noticed a change in cervical mucous while on clomid?

SusieNI · 09/12/2022 15:18

Wow @lucymc11 thats super dark! I dont know how it works but as @Jadeybabes86 it could be due to trigger and stronger LH levels?

@Harper02 i never really notice CM one way or another tbh 🙈

OM88 · 09/12/2022 18:08

Hi @Harper02 ! I was literally about to ask the same thing! I didnt notice anything different on 50mg or 100mg, had lots but didn't ovulate.... now I'm on 150mg and I have absolutely none.....🤷🏼‍♀️

QueenBee22 · 09/12/2022 19:56

@lucymc11 the trigger injection causes the very dark opk result.

lucymc11 · 09/12/2022 20:04

I'm the same I've not really noticed much CM on clomid. I did read that clomid can cause dryness downstairs so I've been using preseed this cycle.

Oh thanks for confirming the trigger shot causes high OPKs! Hoping I am/have ovulated too 🤞.

@Harper02 oh fab!! Imagine good news at Christmas 🙈

Qq ladies, for anyone that drinks, did you do so during the 2ww or not? My work Christmas do is tonight and have guilt about even thinking about having a couple of drinks...would love to hear your opinions! Xx

lucymc11 · 10/12/2022 10:15

Yay @Harper02! Finding out at Christmas is definitely the dream.

@SusieNI I always have the same dilemma but if I have a social event in the TWW I'll have a couple/few.

SusieNI · 10/12/2022 10:29

@lucymc11 it is an actual dilemma 🤣 if I dont drink all my work friends will think im pregnant which is highly insulting when your not and struggling to get there lol so i really dont want them to be talking about me and making wrong assumptions! We cant put our lives on hold either I guess? Xx

lucymc11 · 10/12/2022 18:06

Exactly we can't put our lives on hold and I don't think a couple of drinks in the very early stages
would cause any harm. Have an amazing night! X

Hope enjoyed your night out @SusieNI and I think it’s absolutely fine to enjoy a few drinks!

I’ve got my HSG today..have the total fear. Not sure why my fertility consultant thought it would be a good thing to do just now as i feel it’s a bit traumatic after a loss.. but I’m rolling with it 🫣🫣

Harper02 · 12/12/2022 08:02

Oh wow! Hope it goes well @TTCX2 🥰

SusieNI · 12/12/2022 20:45

@TTCX2 how did you get on? :) xx

TTCX2 · 12/12/2022 20:54

do you want the honest answer or the polite answer @SusieNI? 🫣🤣

SusieNI · 12/12/2022 22:50

@TTCX2 lol I'll let u make a judgement call on that one🙈

OM88 · 13/12/2022 07:22

Can I ask if anyone has ever had a good size follicle (20mm) but then went on to have too low a day 21 progesterone? (13mmol/l) I had a temp rise and really thought I ovulated, oh and the day 21 bloods were taken 7DPO...So I'm a bit puzzled🤔

lucymc11 · 13/12/2022 16:02

Oh no @TTCX2 hope it wasn't too awful! I've not heard good things about it 😢
