Clomid TTC

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone who is currently TTC with Clomid fancied joining a TTC thread? I've had a look and can't see a recent one.

My husband and I have been trying for approx 2 years. I have PCOS and also had a congenital uterine defect (complete septum) which was operated on and fixed in November 2021.

We paid for a private appointment with a gynaecologist yesterday who prescribed 6 months of Clomid. I'm starting off cycle 1 with 50mg and will have a transvaginal ultrasound around CD 10-14.

My period is due in about 3 weeks but ofc with PCOS this is approximate and it might be early/late. My consultant also prescribed norithesterone to bring on a period if it's delayed. I'm tempted to start it soon so I can get cracking with Clomid - patience isn't my strong point!

Would be great to hear from anyone else in a similar position and hopefully share our BFPs in the coming months. TTC can be a lonely time and I've decided to not tell my family/friends about Clomid as it upsets me too much when I have to tell them I'm still not pregnant.

I'm having a predicament now to take clomid today or not. Currently cycle day 2. Sorry to rant off topic but our landlord is an absolute arsehole. He wanted to come out today but i asked to rearrange for monday as i took really unwell during the night ( vomiting at 4am, runs all day 💩 😳, feeling faint , headache all night and morning and i also have a heavy bleed . I feel absolutely awful, I've been in bed whole day ) Anyway he phoned back and I've never had anyone speak so aggressively towards me and was extremely intimidating. He also threatened to give us our notice. I've honestly been left shook and feeling very depressed today. I can't even eat. I've had palpitations all day as a result of the conversation. Im dreading seeing the pig on monday. We have a home close to ohs family but it's not liveable at all right now , needs alot of work which we put on hold to save for fertility treatment otherwise i wouldn't put up with his shit he's subjected me to over the years. We did contemplate moving next year but just didnt want to persue anything because of the stress of moving right now and how that might have a negative impact on treatment. OH thinks we should wait until after Christmas now to see what happens with the house. He's not certain work will give him time off for a tracking scan anyway as days are already over from taking me to all these apps this year and they aren't happy . I think he also dosent want to see me upset over my birthday and christmas if clomid didn't work this month. What do you girls think ? Do you think the stress might have a negative effect ? Really can't decide to go ahead or wait until January

Yesterday and today I’ve had some mild cramping and very light pink/brown discharge when I wipe, not every wee just a few times. Really hoping everything is ok, it seems to be getting lighter

Oh @MK85 I’m so sorry you’ve been made to feel this way. It’s a completely unacceptable way to be spoken to, especially a landlord who is supposed to be professional. I hope you’ve been kind to yourself tonight. It’s such a tough one, I guess you just have to weigh up whether leaving it until the new year would make you anxious and then the symptoms and TTC this month with the house stress. Whatever you do will be the right thing for you, and I’m sure it’ll work out. Sending you lots of love!

@Desperatelyboredhousewife I had some spotting with my first pregnancy at this stage, it can be totally normal but I hope you’re ok! I should have stepped away from the tests because I’m analysing a FRER from yesterday and today convinced todays is lighter (although both blazingly positive). Wish I could just chill the f* out 🤣

@TTCX2 thank you, it seems to have cleared up now and it wasn’t heavy or concerning so keeping my fingers crossed. It’s all so worrying isn’t it! I did another test yesterday but making myself step away now, if you learn to chill out please let me know how 😂 you can always message me on here if you need to vent!

glad it’s stopped @Desperatelyboredhousewife I’ve got one digital weeks indicator left and I’m going to use it next week and hopefully I’ll have 3+ and then I’m done. I’ve got an early scan on the 19th, my fertility clinic offer everyone them if you get pregnant so I’m really hoping all will be well 🤞 feel free to message me as well 🥰

Had my scan this morning, have a wee 18mm dominant follicle so the 100mg seems to be working, am so pleased! Happy Sunday all!x

Does this mean I'm ovulating today..or will do in the next 24 hours...? 🤔 feel like texting my husband to comehome at lunchtime 🤣🤣

I think you should ovulate in 24-36 hours so probably tomorrow. They say you should DTD in the 3 days run up to and day of ovulation so I hope your husband doesn't come home tired from work this eve 🤣.

Hey ladies. Just thought I’d come back and update the thread- unfortunately I’ve had an early miscarriage 5+2. Started bleeding last night and a ‘not pregnant’ on a digital this morning. Completely gutted but accepting of it if that make sense! Will wait to hear from my consultant what that means for trying again but a few weeks off over Christmas I’m sure will do me some good 🥰 hope you’re all well and enjoying the BD’ing @SusieNI

Has anyone had a trigger shot with clomid? What CD did you have it?

I've never had a trigger shot @lucymc11 my doctor mentioned it on Sunday only because I asked was there anything else we could do (eager beaver I am! :P) but she said theres no need for it when it looks like ovulation is going to happen naturally? (which must have been based on my scan?) so i'm not sure how it works really!

I had three trigger shots over three clomid cycles. It was a different cycle day each cycle. It all depends on when the follicle grows big enough to give a trigger shot. The clinic would wait for a follicle to be 18mm and then give the trigger shot.

So sorry @TTCX2 - I can't imagine how you must be feeling. I will be sending good thoughts your way. Hoping you can enjoy this holiday season and get ready for a 2023 baby!! We are going to speak that into existence!
