Clomid TTC

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone who is currently TTC with Clomid fancied joining a TTC thread? I've had a look and can't see a recent one.

My husband and I have been trying for approx 2 years. I have PCOS and also had a congenital uterine defect (complete septum) which was operated on and fixed in November 2021.

We paid for a private appointment with a gynaecologist yesterday who prescribed 6 months of Clomid. I'm starting off cycle 1 with 50mg and will have a transvaginal ultrasound around CD 10-14.

My period is due in about 3 weeks but ofc with PCOS this is approximate and it might be early/late. My consultant also prescribed norithesterone to bring on a period if it's delayed. I'm tempted to start it soon so I can get cracking with Clomid - patience isn't my strong point!

Would be great to hear from anyone else in a similar position and hopefully share our BFPs in the coming months. TTC can be a lonely time and I've decided to not tell my family/friends about Clomid as it upsets me too much when I have to tell them I'm still not pregnant.

Hey all, how is everybody doing now? :)

My AF randomly has turned up naturally last night (CD 33 which is the earliest it has ever been usually I am 70-90 days!) so am taking this is a wee positive as means I can start cycle 2 on my double dose of Clomid way earlier than I thought I would be! Out of interest, is Clomid meant to help regulate your cycle...or maybe this is just a fluke!

lucymc11 · 23/11/2022 14:12

Sorry AF came @SusieNI but I agree I'd take the 33 day cycle as a good sign the clomid is working.

I'm 14 DPO today, no AF yet but I can feel she's on her way. I haven't taken a pg test but I have 0 symptoms and my cervix are really low so doesn't seem much point. I'd rather have AF show than see one line on a test.

Wishing you all the luck with cycle 2 on a higher dose!

@SusieNI if clomid has worked you should expect your period days 27-30 ish or a positive test so clomid has definitely worked and you have ovulated this cycle which is great news 😊

MK85 · 23/11/2022 15:13

How many days do I need between provera doses ? My last provera pill was on 3rd November , had took it for 10 days and I'm now 9 days post period.

TTCX2 · 23/11/2022 17:19

Oh @SusieNI thats very positive that you ovulated this cycle and everything is working as it should ❤️

@lucymc11 your willpower not to test is admirable! Still not out until AF arrives. Ill be thinking of you!

im 8dpo and anxiously waiting 🤞😬

TTCX2 · 23/11/2022 17:22

Sorry @MK85 im not sure what you mean? Provera would be used to induce a period but if you’ve not long finished AF this would be the time where you’d TTC. Are you taking clomid?

QueenBee22 · 23/11/2022 18:30

@MK85 thank you for your detailed message. It is great to know what to expect. I'm a complete whimp! I can't handle a smear so dreading this!

Best of luck with your fertility journey.

MK85 · 23/11/2022 19:39

@TTCX2
Sorry for the confusion. I took provera to induce a period but didnt take clomid this cycle as I was booked in for hsg so now have to wait until next cycle to start clomid.
What I was wondering was how many days after my last period do I wait before taking the next provera pill to start a period again. I know you need to wait a certain amount of time between doses but I'm not sure exactly how long that is.

I dont really have periods naturally on my own , once or twice a year at most so I'll likely be taking provera every month while on clomid. Im pretty certain the chances of getting pregnant this month are big fat zero so impatiently waiting to start a new cycle with clomid

TTCX2 · 23/11/2022 20:00

sorry @MK85 if I wasn’t following thanks for explaining. I haven’t had an HSG yet you sounded like a total powerhouse through yours- must have been very uncomfortable!

My Consultant had said to me previously that I had to wait 6 weeks from the first day of my last period before being able to take another round of Provera (I’m not sure why?) but that’s the guidance i followed. Maybe some of the other ladies will have some different advice. Do you have a consultant who can advise you?

Harper02 · 24/11/2022 07:55

Hey everyone :) been totally absent from this app for a little break, it really gets to you sometimes! How is everyone? I'm on clomid cycle 8, still not pregnant😵‍💫

SusieNI · 24/11/2022 08:14

@MK85 at my last scan my doctor told me to give it to week 5 do a test then start Provera again!**@Harper02 hey there :) aw sorry tor no good news with u you yet :( xxDo you think it means I did ovulate if my period started itself day 33? My last scan on day 18 the doc didnt think it had worked so am so confused 😐

lucymc11 · 24/11/2022 10:31

Hey @Harper02 hope you're keeping well! Best of luck for this cycle!

I caved last night and ended up taking a test just to put myself out of my misery. BFN and then was really upset but feeling better this morning. I've decided I'm not going to take clomid this cycle because December is my fav month and I just want to be able to enjoy Xmas and NY without stressing/getting upset about TTC. I'll still be keeping an eye on this thread to see how you're all doing and hopefully see some BFPs! Xx

@SusieNI did they do progesterone bloods? Sorry for not being caught up if you've said this before. Also did you test with OPKs? My first cycle of clomid didn't 'work', I did ovulate really late but the Dr said it was too late🫠 so confusing isn't it. It's defo a plus you've had a 33 day cycle!

@lucymc11 thanks! I'm also going to take a break after this cycle 😘 what dpo are you?

Desperatelyboredhousewife · 24/11/2022 11:04

It's interesting to see some of you mention taking a break next cycle, I'm also wondering about doing the same. Clomid gave me a strong positive OPK on CD14 (usually wouldn't get this until day 19-20 earliest) although that obviously doesn't mean I ovulated, I'm taking progesterone now until the 3rd December. If I get a BFN then I'm tempted to have a cycle off in December, I just want to enjoy Christmas and not worry!

OM88 · 24/11/2022 14:11

Hi everyone, sorry I took a break from here for a while.... just been to the hospital for review after my second round of clomid (first was 50mg no ovulation, second was 100mg and no ovulation) they want to keep me ok 100mg and I'm so confused why!! Has anyone else been kept on the same dose when it wasn't working?
Also....I had a scan which showed a follicle of 20mm this month....where did it go?!🤯

TTCX2 · 25/11/2022 11:00

Good luck to all you ladies taking a break over Christmas. Definitely a wise thing to do and hopefully means you can enjoy the festive period with any added stress. I was thinking of doing the same but decided I’d keep going as my period is due in 4 days and if I don’t take the clomid I can absolutely guarantee no period and I hate taking Provera it makes me an angryyyy woman 🫣

TTCX2 · 26/11/2022 19:53

What do we make of this ladies? 😫

Yup!!!!✨✨

TTCX2 · 27/11/2022 19:35

its been torture not doing a million tests but I’ve really restricted myself to just one FRER in the morning. The waiting is killing! I’ve been stung so many times with bad evaps as you’ll see earlier in the thread. Really hoping this is it 🤞😫🥺

SusieNI · 27/11/2022 19:40

Omg totally!! Ahhhh I'm so excited for u!!! Please god it gets darker!! Two in a row is not a evap line!🙈🥳

Isnt it mad how invested u can get in this forum and all the wonderdul ladies in it and none of us actually know eachother

Harper02 · 27/11/2022 19:41

@TTCX2 hope this is it for you 🥰🤞🏼

I'm confused with my cycle, didn't track but on clomid my cycles are 28/29 days. I worked out I'm on cd25 today and had one wipe of pink spotting yesterday with some cramps and today I've had the tiniest brown spotting and no cramps 😫😫😫
