Clomid TTC

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone who is currently TTC with Clomid fancied joining a TTC thread? I've had a look and can't see a recent one.

My husband and I have been trying for approx 2 years. I have PCOS and also had a congenital uterine defect (complete septum) which was operated on and fixed in November 2021.

We paid for a private appointment with a gynaecologist yesterday who prescribed 6 months of Clomid. I'm starting off cycle 1 with 50mg and will have a transvaginal ultrasound around CD 10-14.

My period is due in about 3 weeks but ofc with PCOS this is approximate and it might be early/late. My consultant also prescribed norithesterone to bring on a period if it's delayed. I'm tempted to start it soon so I can get cracking with Clomid - patience isn't my strong point!

Would be great to hear from anyone else in a similar position and hopefully share our BFPs in the coming months. TTC can be a lonely time and I've decided to not tell my family/friends about Clomid as it upsets me too much when I have to tell them I'm still not pregnant.

Hey so I just had my first scan on my first cycle of Clomid, am day 10 and doesnt look like things are growing the way they should yet :( biggest follicle was 9mm so booked in for another one on thursday so please god I'm just going to ovulate later and this little follicle will keep growing over the next few days. Disappointing think i was half expecting a wee mini miracle on this scan but will stay positive for now!

TTCX2 · 29/10/2022 10:25

@SusieNI don’t lose hope, my first scan on my first cycle with 50mg clomid wasn’t great and then by the next scan things were better and I ovulated! It can change so quickly, good luck!

SusieNI · 29/10/2022 10:37

@TTCX2 oh really? Do you know what day you normally ovulate in a clomid cycle? Thanks so much that adds a little hope! Its so lovely having this forum as I cant talk to any of my friends about this (we are keeping this to ourselves) and my huaband is brilliant but u need to speak to other women in the same boat about these things! 🤍
The drs who do the scans are quite cold and clinical about this all too sobbb, your in and out in 4 minutes its actually crazy lol

TTCX2 · 29/10/2022 13:19

@SusieNI i haven’t taken ovulation strips in the last two cycles as I’ve never had a positive on one and analyse it all too much. I had a scan day 10 and the nurse wasn’t seeing what she hoped to, then had a scan a week later and she thought I looked like I had just ovulated or was just about to and bloods confirmed I did ovulate. So quite late in my cycle, so I’ve now got 100mg to hopefully help me ovulate a bit earlier in my cycle! Glad to give you some hope, are you on 50?

SusieNI · 29/10/2022 15:03

Thanks so much @TTCX2 so nice to hear someone elses story! Yes am 50mg to start off. Also been on metformin for 5 months now but cant see it doing any good so far! Have u ever been offered a trigger shot?

OM88 · 29/10/2022 18:39

Hi @TTCX2 ! Can I ask what your day 21 blood results were?

TTCX2 · 29/10/2022 21:53

No @SusieNI i never have (yet). I’ve to do the clomid for three cycles (when my period arrives this’ll be my third!) and then I’ve to have an HSG to check my tubes! Maybe that’ll will be something I’m offered down the line, is that something you’ve been offered?

hi @OM88 now that you ask I strangely never got told my levels, I got a letter through just indicating my levels were high enough to suggest I ovulated and then I got a period so guess it was accurate but would be interested to know what they were too. How are you getting on?

TTCX2 · 31/10/2022 07:05

Hey ladies, did anyone take ages to get a period after Provera? When I took it in July I started bleeding just a few days later, this time, I took my last tablet last Tuesday before I went to bed and I just haven’t started my period yet. Starting to think my body just won’t respond to anything anymore 😭

Jadeybabes86 · 31/10/2022 10:16

@TTCX2 have you taken a pregnancy test? The only reason you wouldn’t bleed as far as I’m aware is if you were pregnant after taking provera xxx

Harper02 · 31/10/2022 11:30

Hey everyone, 13dpo here af due today 🫠🫠🫠 haven't tested yet! Happy Monday!

SusieNI · 31/10/2022 12:06

@TTCX2 I've only taken Provera once so far and my period started 2 days after the last tablet! Agree with @Jadeybabes86 maybe take a test if you havent already?

@TTCX2 and on the triggershot thing no this hasnt been offered to me I've just seen it mentioned a fair few times elsewhere so wondered at what stage this is offered!

@Harper02 fingers crossed for you AF stays well away!!💕xx

Jadeybabes86 · 31/10/2022 12:16

@Harper02 fingers crossed she stays away, and you get your BFP 😄

AF due for me tomorrow eager beaver tested this morning and was BFN 😥 but you never know I’m not out of the running yet 😊

waiting on 21 day results also which I’m hoping coincide with the OPK’s i took this cycle 🤞🏻

TTCX2 · 31/10/2022 12:18

Thanks ladies, naturally because I said it out loud AF arrived shortly after I wrote that message 🫣. Really glad as I’m keen to start cycle 3 on 100.

keeping my fingers crossed it stays away @Harper02 🙌🙌

Jadeybabes86 · 31/10/2022 13:24

@TTCX2 its like your body plays tricks, usually very soon after I take a pregnancy test AF decides to show 🤯

TTCX2 · 31/10/2022 15:53

Totally @Jadeybabes86 and it’s always after an expensive test too 🤣🤣

SusieNI · 31/10/2022 18:16

@TTCX2 @Jadeybabes86 it totally plays tricks! I have never had a cycle under 60 days since i was about 17 and the one and only time I have done since coming off the pill 18 months ago was when i was on my honeymoon and she showed up on cycle day 30 day 2 of us being there! Lol shes a boldie! You couldnt write it!

MK85 · 31/10/2022 23:48

Did any of you notice any spotting while taking provera? I started spotting last night little speckles of blood when I wipe. Currently on day 7 of 10 with the course

SusieNI · 01/11/2022 07:28

@MK85 yeah I had a little spotting whilst taking the tablets. I was only given a 5 day course though not 10?

Jadeybabes86 · 01/11/2022 09:41

so I’ve had my day 21 results back and im
really confused because as a lot of you have mentioned on here it has to be >30 to confirm ovulation but on the letter it says <16?

mine came back at 24 but according to OPK I ovulated 5 days previous so I’m thinking I took the blood test too early? As isn’t it meant to be 7 days PO not necessarily on day 21?

doc hasn’t given any explanation just asked the secretary to email me the results but maybe because I was chasing them and she did mention yesterday he’s off sick 🤒

anyone have any insight for me?

SusieNI · 01/11/2022 18:53

Sorry @Jadeybabes86 I javent got thay far yet as am cycle 1 atm but willclet you know when I do!

I've a random question....did anyone get weird symptoms the week after you finished your clomid tablets? This may be TMI but I cant stop peeing the last 24 hours and keep getting heavy pains in my tummy like I'm dying to go to the loo...wondering if clomid reated or am I getting a kidney infection 🤔 lol

Jadeybabes86 · 01/11/2022 19:03

@SusieNI weve all had weird symptoms since after taking the last pill personally cycle 1 I just didn’t feel right at all I had pulling pains down below that felt like they were vaginal and in my bottom 😂 on that cycle I didn’t ovulate and it really prolonged my period…. This cycle (2) I’ve felt so much better less weird symptoms just the normal-ish ones you’d expect and I ovulated (according to OPK) I haven’t heard anyone say about excessive peeing though sorry 😬

SusieNI · 01/11/2022 19:38

@Jadeybabes86 oh god lol that does not sound like fun!🤣 I'll wait and see how this pans out I guess 😂🙈 a kidney infection right now would not be great🙃

Jadeybabes86 · 01/11/2022 19:51

@SusieNI it seems to affect everyone differently and at different cycles, never known anything like it 🤣

best of luck to you on this crazy journey x

Harper02 · 02/11/2022 19:17

Hey ladies, sorry I keep dipping in and out of this! My period came :( me and my husband are currently deciding if we are going to continue with clomid as I'm a complete mess every single month. Hope everyone is ok? It's definitely winter here today x

TTCX2 · 02/11/2022 22:22

sorry to hear that @Harper02 😩 hope you’ve been kind to yourself today. It’s such a tough journey. How many cycles have you been using clomid? Sorry that you’ve been feeling with. Lots of love to you!
