Clomid TTC

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone who is currently TTC with Clomid fancied joining a TTC thread? I've had a look and can't see a recent one.

My husband and I have been trying for approx 2 years. I have PCOS and also had a congenital uterine defect (complete septum) which was operated on and fixed in November 2021.

We paid for a private appointment with a gynaecologist yesterday who prescribed 6 months of Clomid. I'm starting off cycle 1 with 50mg and will have a transvaginal ultrasound around CD 10-14.

My period is due in about 3 weeks but ofc with PCOS this is approximate and it might be early/late. My consultant also prescribed norithesterone to bring on a period if it's delayed. I'm tempted to start it soon so I can get cracking with Clomid - patience isn't my strong point!

Would be great to hear from anyone else in a similar position and hopefully share our BFPs in the coming months. TTC can be a lonely time and I've decided to not tell my family/friends about Clomid as it upsets me too much when I have to tell them I'm still not pregnant.

@thecarlsons everybody ovulates and reacts to the drug differently try and remain positive and always test at the same time every day the best results are 1st pee of the morning as it’s undiluted, sending you lots of support and well wishes xxx

lucymc11 · 24/10/2022 21:59

Congratulations on your peak @Jadeybabes86 🤞 and @Ldougal92 hope your TWW is going quickly.

Glad you made some good progress @MK85, must feel like such a relief to know you're on the right track.

@thecarlsons I didn't ovulate until CD19 and had really low ovulation results until CD17 so try not to stress - you still have time!

I've just got my period so cycle 1 wasn't the one. At least I'm having a 30 day cycle though which I think means the clomid is working as it should be. Onto cycle 2!

Stupid question..
i took my first provera today , it says 2 daily for 10 days. What I'm wondering is do I take both at same time or do I spread the dose out

Hey ladies. Hope you’re all ok. Sorry to hear this cycle wasn’t the one @lucymc11, fingers crossed for your next cycle 🤞.

@MK85 so great to hear you’ve been given some proper support at your recent appt.

taken my last Provera tablet today, hoping for a bleed soon and staring my 3rd clomid cycle (1st cycle with 100mg). Let’s hope this is the one 🥲

I've just finished my 5 days of my first clomid cycle and have to go for a monitoring scan at my fertility clinic Saturday morning! I think then they will give us an indication if it looks like its worked or not and if ovulation looks likely? We have to abstain until then just incase I've over stimulated but I doubt that has happened...? Has this every happened anyone else?
Very nervous for the scan, I'm just so used to 'not working right' I cant imagine 5 little tablets making a difference for me tbh :( but fingers crossed for us all!💕

lucymc11 · 26/10/2022 10:26

Good luck on Saturday @SusieNI! I was terrified for my scan but actually got told the clomid had worked well. It was the first time I've ever had good news at a gynae appointment. 🤣

I think I'm right in saying that if at the scan it's looking like your follicle needs a bit of a boost, a trigger shot can also be organised to help push ovulation along.

I can definitely see a line @Ldougal92! Congratulations!! How many dpo are you? 😍😍

@Jadeybabes86 I didn't really notice that on my first cycle but hopefully it's a good sign that your body/hormones are doing what they're supposed to?

@Ldougal92 I'm definitely seeing a faint line x

OM88 · 28/10/2022 22:59

Hello ladies, I hope you're all well. 💕Congratulations @Ldougal92 !!

I am on CD23 of my first clomid 50mg cycle. I have secondary infertility. I am not ovulating effectively, and just found out today my 21 day progesterone result was only 24.6mmol/l. I believe it needs to be at least 30mmol/l to show effective ovulation...?...so clomid 50mg hasn't worked....

Ive been told I dont have PCOS, thyroid issues and bmi is normal...im 33.... has anyone else unexplained anovulation?? Did upping the dose to 100mg clomid help??

Thank you so much xxx

Harper02 · 28/10/2022 23:09

@OM88 your result is still pretty high, on my failed cycles my progesterone was <1. Did you confirm your ovulation day? Xx

OM88 · 28/10/2022 23:18

Hi @Harper02 , thanks so much for getting back to me...i got a positive opk test showing ovulation should have happened day 14.... my doctor told me I have weak ovulation, that its not strong enough to conceive unless day 21 progesterone is over 30...
I think im just so sad because I thought clomid would change it....but despite all the symptoms, my day 21 is still much the same!! (I also think clomid has made me super emotional!)
What dose are you on at the moment?? Do you get bloods every month?
