It is so frustating this get preggers thing. I am back to work got signed off for 6wks!! i am glad that i am busy so i don't think too much on what is happening.
These dr's are pants and we have to work together and help each other when things arise!!!

danismum · 01/07/2008 21:18

hi sarah1109, just down the coast a little bit!

I just finished 2nd lot of clomid. trying not to think about anything too much cos iot's so easy to think that every weird feeling is in some way connected to being pregnant. bit sick of it really but hey!
my work have made me fulltime for 3 months so there goes summer.

i got given 3 months worth and and due to go back to consultant on aug. although my cycles are only 26 days so think the dates will be all wrong and i'll end up having to miss a month.
I'm sure I read somewhere on the internet of a man taking the clomid for lazy sperm? or maybe i dreamt it!!!

Hi to everyone on here xxxxxxxxxx

DungunGirl · 02/07/2008 09:48

Thanks cam75!

Weird to be back to the daily grind.

cam75 · 02/07/2008 09:54

it sure is.
How are you my darling? do you feel refreshed from your break away?

DungunGirl · 02/07/2008 14:55

Yes....didn't take long for me to start stressing though - with housework etc.

How are things with you?

cam75 · 02/07/2008 16:06

i am fine back to work now as much as i liked being at home and relaxing had to come back as my gp wouldn't sign me off anymore.
It is good in one way, i don't have to thnk about what is going on i am too busy to worry about everything. You need to take it easy ok....

Sarah1109 · 02/07/2008 21:08

Hi danismum,

I've read that too on a website somewhere. Perhaps that will be the next step, who knows?

I'm due on on Friday, so we'll see what happens. Been feeling pretty rough for the past week, so I'll be glad when I know, one way or another??

Take care, and I hope your round goes well for you. xx

Saw your post. Is this your first round of clomid or 2nd?
At least you are being monitored and therefore if you need a higher dose of clomid, then you'll get it!

lauralou

I know what you mean...it does take over your life and your sanity.

Work will take your mind of it all a little - as you will have work stresses to deal with! well that is the case for me anyway!!!!

Dianem002 · 04/07/2008 20:29

I am sittin at home tonight feelin pretty low, i didnt realise there were sites like this, i feel i have no one to turn to to talk this through as much as my husband trys he cannot understand that every month when that test reads negative i lose a piece of me

You are all an inspiration and all seem so positive what is your secret.

I have just finished a 6 month course of clomid and now need to wait 2 months to see a specialist, 2 months that is such a long time i dont think they realise how this takes over your life

Big hugs to you allXX

DungunGirl · 04/07/2008 21:12

dianem002

WElcome. I am sorry to hear that you have been so down.

We all support each other as best we can on here for the exact reason that you mentioned. Nobody else, even our dear partners/husbands can fully understand the ups and downs we go through.

I have been on this thread for months and months and fully expected that by now I would be on clomid after being diagnosed with PCOS. However I have been through the grinder with the NHS and more than a year on I am in limbo.

Haviong all the ladies here on mumsnet is the only thing that has kept me relatively sane.

So please feel free to share - we all here to support each other!

nandos · 05/07/2008 11:00

hey dungungirl,
how r u dear
hopefully you're on clomid very soon..

just a lil update on myself, i have been down with a week of fever n flu and only now it has calmed down a bit. re clomid, i am off it for now but if nothing happens(not pregnant)by sept, then i might start clomid again..
am just trying to get my cycles back to normal for now..
will join you when i take my course of clomid but mean time i will keep sneaking to this posts whenever im free

Dianem002 · 05/07/2008 16:37

Ive been attending the hospital for nearly 5 years now, to begin with it was bloodtests week after week, then about a year in they said it was not PCOS which is what they said i initially had, then i was told to lose some weight by my doctor, this is also a soul destroying this this to be told that you cannot fall pregnant cause your carrying an extra few pounds, after about a year i went back and this time i thought they didnt have anything to complain about because im a non smoker non drinker and i was at the perfect BMI according to the doctors, after this it was more blood tests again, until january again when things came to a head with my doctor and she gave me CLomid, i thought it was going to be the answer to all of my problems and then month after month it was absolute dissapointment, im now at my witts end with all of this.

All you girls need to go in guns ablazing to the doctors cause apparently it is the only way to get ahead these days, i have learned this after nearly 5 years.

Sorry so long just cant stop maself once a get started .. XXXX

lauralou1 · 05/07/2008 17:53

hi cam 75 and dungungirl

how are you both hope you are keeping good

i am feeling a bit more positive now my partner said he doesnt want me to take 100mg of clomid as i had really bad side effects with 50mg and i will just be in so much pain so he called our private doctor who is in turkey as that is were my partner is from i saw him in febuary he did some tests and said there is nothing wrong with me i can concieve but i have pcos which i no ayway but then he said for us to go and see our doctor over here and then if nothing happensgo to him

so my partner called him yesterday and explained what they were giving me and how long for etc and the doctor said that it is the easy option for them to give that he said to finish the clomid as all they can do is help but not to take 100mg when i have finished them if no luck then we are going over there to him he said book your flight for 4 weeks and within 2 weeks he will garuntee i will be pregnant .....

his family have known this doctor for 10 years nd has helped all of them so there is light at the end of the tunnel after all ...

so for the long message

what do you think ?

cam75 · 06/07/2008 00:22

lauralou darling

i am fine just tired
I think af is coming and i need to get some strong painkillers if she is grand entrance....
However yesterday i notice that i had some mucus, very sticky but clear. I spoke to some of my friends who have had children.
When you ovulate you get mucus or something sol it is good to have sex as it helps the sperm??? I have to disagree with the nurse when she claimed that i ovulated.
I think that i have this week as i had the dull ache on the side. I think the tablets mayb be working as i have not had that mucus or whatever it is in a long time??? the mind boggles.................
Good news about your dr, any chance you have take it time waits for no one. Please let me know any tips you have when you see him.
How are you feeling? are you back at work?

catherinepalmer · 06/07/2008 13:33

Hey Everyone

It's so comforting to know that other people are feeling the same as me!

I have a 16 month old baby boy who we love so much, but desperatly want to conceive again to give him a brother or sister. We've been trying since september and every month my period comes and I end up in tears...

I've had really irregualr periods since finishing breadt feeding in September and they range anywhere from 28 - 35 days so its hard to know when or if I'm ovulating.

My doc put me on clomid 50mg last month days 1-5. I'm feeling ok on it, but it does make me a little nauseous (which I stupidly get excited about thinking its a preg sign).

I wanted to ask what eveyone else was doing with Clomid - what days and if you think days 1-5 is too early? my Doc said to start TTC 5-10 after last pill, but would this not be too soon considering my period is normally around 33 days?

When my doc put me on Clomid his said that the success rate really high, but on doing "research" there are lots of girls not falling pg. Getting really low...

losthope · 06/07/2008 21:51

Well i am now on day three of taking 50mg of clomid, i have no side effects what so ever "knock on wood", but im really nervous if this is really going to work for me! Does any one know of the chances of getting pregnant in the first cycle? Are my chances good or not so good. On top of all this i have pcos and well recently i was told that i have colitis, which i have heard that if can cause problems as well with infertility, and again not. SO im not sure what to believe. Please help , im going crazy!!!

LindsayS · 07/07/2008 12:06

Hiya

I just got my day 21 blood test results on Friday. Apparently pre-clomid, my results were 9 and 25, and this month they were 79. So ladies - what does this mean? Good news I presume??

What were everyone elses?

All we need to do now is get my DH's spermies working!!

danismum · 07/07/2008 22:05

hi everyone,
i've decided to stop thinking about anything to do with temperature taking and clomid. the disappointment is just too much and it takes over your whole life. so i'm gonna carry on taking it but that's about it! And if it doesn't work (i'm not confident at all!) then I guess they'll just double the dose. fortunately i don't get side effects too badly, the only thing i get is very ratty on days 4-5 of clomid, and painful ovulation which makes me feel constipated, but round 2 was better than round one.

Deep down, I still assume that this time next year i'll have a nice bump or something. foolish i know, but I bet we're all like that.

xxx to all xxx

DungunGirl · 08/07/2008 08:40

lauralou

HIYA!!!! Wow...your story about the doctor in Turkey is very intriguing! YOu must let me know what happens if you do decide to go over to Turkey and what it is they actually do to be so confident of getting you pregnant! Sounds wonderful.

I would be counting the days until I was going if I was you!

cam75

Same here! I greeted AF with dread on Saturday. I had convinced myself I was pregnant this month, after my day 21 blood test confirmed my progesterone was 33.6 which indicates ovulation I thought there couldn't be anything else stopping us! Well I guess ovulation isn't my main main problem then....I think it is the whole LH/FSH/hormone imbalance/insulin resistance afterward that mucks everything up!

Nandos

So nice to see you back again! I am ok thanks. You won;t believe it but I still haven't taken the clomid you sent me! ARENT I GOOD! I have been letting the NHS have one last chance...I went to my GP and basically said that as the fertilty unit had discharged me from their care ( stupid unit!!!!!! ) that I was left in limbo and that I was going to take clomid myself and that I had some ready.

That surprised her, so she has asked me to wait and have 2 months of day 21 blood tests to see if it indicates I am not ovulating - if I am not then she will refer me straight back to the unit. But if I am, then it is up to me if i want to take it or not. I think that come August, I will have started them to tell you the truth.

Consultant wrote in my discharge letter that if I wasn't pregnant come september that my GP should refer me back to the unit. I don't know if I can or want to wait that long! I might be starting the clomid around the same time as you!

danismum

I know what you mean....we have been TTC our 2nd now for 19 months and we have lost interest really.

I stopped charting my temps this month and also stopped peeing on sticks. We are trying to just be laid back and not think about it too much and just make sure we do the deed when we need to!

At least you are on clomid and just waiting for it to hopefully work.

Nobody seems to want to help me, the fertility consultant discharged me from the unit and just told me to go and lose weight basically! COW! My GP refuses to refer me to the PCOS clinic at the Endo department as she disagrees with the use of metformin....I just CAN"T WIN! NOBODY seems willing to help me.

Lindsay S

That is excellent. Anything over 10 indicates some form of ovulation and I think that anything over 30 indicates good quality ovulation.

So over 70...you will be super duper ovulating!
It is common with clomid for this to happen - but this is good news.

Good Luck!

DungunGirl · 08/07/2008 08:45

Is it just me...or is it REALLY INSENSITIVE having this bloody Pampers advert on the screen with a cute gurggling baby!

ARRRGHHH take it away!

cam75 · 08/07/2008 10:50

good morning ladies,

i am not sure what to think. The nurse seemed to have worked out my ovulating time but for some reason i beg to differ.

I think last week i ovulated, i felt pain on my side which i normally get. There was something different this time i had some discharge. Now it was not smelly or anything just clear and sticky. I have read online that you get some fertilie discharge which helps the sperm??? i have been feeling wet (sorry to be crass) so i have been making use and been at it at it.
I have been doing some research and it is very interesting. It is all about the mucus and when it is good for the sperm and so on.
I spoke to my fertitly nurse and she was not really helpful. The only thing she said to me was that i should continue with the metformin, she see no problem with me get pregnant I JUST NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT!!!! enough already i am losing with the metformin, i can't do it any faster, don't they realise the fater you lose it the quicker it goes back on. I am not at all obese or anything and there are some women out there who are bigger than me and get pregnant. I think sometimes these people are a bit insenstive!!!!
