Ttc at 40!!!

Well we have just made the scary decision to ttc at 40! I have an appointment for my contraceptive removing next month!!
We have older dc and it just feels like the last chance, before age well and truly takes over! Is anyone else here similar age? Have you managed to get that bfp? I’m nervous that we’ve left it a little too late!

I'm 40 op, currently 17 weeks pregnant with my second.
Took me around 3 months to conceive, and even then I only tried for around 2 days during my fertile week.

Well I’m now on dpo either 8 or 10 and been doing ALL the tests getting BFN obviously and also no symptoms except a few days of headaches but nothing today. Depressing. Haven’t done a test today but might later if I fancy more heartache. It funny how you just expect it to be positive.

Oh and I’m aware it’s far to early to test.

I’m sitting here feeding my newborn who was conceived about 2 weeks after my 40th birthday!

Hey sorry I’ve been missing off here a while! I’m ready to Ttc this month! I think I should be ovulating in the next week ish 🤞
Bit nervous about it in case it doesn’t happen as it did so quickly with my older ones but I was nearly a decade younger! So good to hear all the positive stories and successes!!
Also great to hear of others my age all Ttc too

I’m not sure if anybody is still following this but thought I’d update with some good news. I got a positive pregnancy test this week age 41 after 18 months of trying. I know it’s early days and could all go wrong but hopefully it gives a bit of hope to those that are having a hard time.

Another BFP at 40 here as well - we had actually stopped TTC (#4), so it was a bit of a surprise to get a super faint line yesterday when AF hadn’t arrived. Proper line on the FRER this morning. Early days I know but hope it gives some hope!

Can I join please? We have older children and started our journey for a third about 18 months ago. I initially got pregnant really quickly, but sadly, there was no heartbeat at the 12 week scan. I had two further early miscarriages last year, after which we took a break and had private testing. That showed everything was good so most likely issue is poor quality eggs. Have now been on a cocktail old vitamins and ready to try again! I'm 40.

I am 44, stopped trying but not back on preventing yet, I am just about late, can't bring myself to test yet

Late update here but I also got a bfp! Had scan today and baby looks ok but had a heamatoma next to sac so have to go back in a fortnight!

@Av0bo55 A friend of mine had that, baby is a month old, no reason to be a problem, but look after yourself

Congratulations @Av0bo55 and @Poppyjen! It’s #4 for me too, my others are all much older.

@Badhairday101 me too , well two of mine are - I have DS (12) and DD1 (9) as well as a little DD (3). Feeling more than a little wobbly about the prospect of #4 now I have a BFP…but y’know…it’s crazy wonderful chaos already so I am sure it will be fine 😂😂

@Poppyjen you will be absolutely fine! I know what you mean though, just a lot to get your head around, exciting but doesn’t feel real either.
My older ones are 20, 16 and 11. So although I’ve never had children close together, this is another level of age gap 😂.
I’m not sure when the right time is to tell work! So much to think about.
