Ttc at 40!!!

Well we have just made the scary decision to ttc at 40! I have an appointment for my contraceptive removing next month!!
We have older dc and it just feels like the last chance, before age well and truly takes over! Is anyone else here similar age? Have you managed to get that bfp? I’m nervous that we’ve left it a little too late!

@Lauraliverpool most threads here I see it's suggested to try every 2-3 days, it has to do with sperm's quality.

@IsabelHerna haven't started trying as yet this month was hoping tonight but he's not well so that's out the window. I did have blood tests done to query menopause and they came back normal so that's good. How are you?

I'm 41 next month, I just don't think we are trying enough each month, we'd sort of said if it happens it happens, but how long do you say that for, already have a little boy conceived naturally, two failed rounds of IVF, just wondering if it will ever happen again, another baby. Try and keep myself from thinking about it all the time. X

Hi 👋 we've just decided to TTC #4 - never thought I would be saying that but I have finally given in to the feeling that I am just not done yet.

I turned 40 last year, had my DCs at 28, 31 and 37. The last pregnancy was sooooo different to the first two - barely even noticed I was pregnant with them, so feeling a little apprehensive.

I have also had two miscarriages and an ectopic along the way so part of me thinks this is a crazy idea.....

Interestingly since having DC 3 (who was a happy accident) my cycles have been the most regular they have ever been so I don't know what to expect.

@Poppyjen I am also TTC #4. I had my 3 DS when I was 29, 32 and 36 so pretty similar to you! I was 40 last year as well. So far on cycle 9, AF due today and I’ve had my usual PMS symptoms so expecting to get it.

I wasn't so bothered when TTC previous DCs but it feels sensible this time around to pay a little more attention...

I'm 39 and we're trying for #1. I came off the pill 5 weeks ago and I've had nothing yet which is very unusual for me, I usually have a period if I miss 2 or 3 days. Do I test or do I wait and see what happens?

I'm doing okay, I have officially decided and started the procedures to do IVF in cyprus, so now I'm making all the arrangements with work, to take some time off etc. I just need this to work this time...

Does anybody know which vitamins should be taken to improve egg quality? I have regular periods so hoping I ovulate regularly but have no idea really and unsure if my eggs are good ones 😂.

@Badhairday101 I've heard CQ10 can help with egg quality, but I know that your eggs are the same age as you are. I'm taking a Probiotic from Holland and Barratt, high dose folic acid, vitamin E, vitamin B6, vitamin C with zinc in, omega fish oil, vitamin D.

To your question yes that’s a good sign that you’re ovulating so definitely DTD over the next few days.
