Still no temp from me today, but I have found the thermometer. Yay. I didn't temp this morning as I woke up lots in the small hours. I am stressing about failing again this cycle. Got a few cramps yesterday which I reckon means that there is no BFP likely Gutted.

minxi · 12/01/2008 17:42

Ready no news and all that!! Keep positive, although I know how you feel I am feeling less and less positive as each month goes past, someone at my sons school announced pregnancy the other day and I just smiled and said thats fab congratulations etc - got back to the car was sobbing!!! Obviously am pleased for her but for me I just feel and felt rubbish! Dh thinks that may be a bit odd - a bit odd? men don't have feelings like us surely! It wouldn't be so bad but was chatting to her just before christmas having a third etc and she said no - now she's just had her 12 weeks scan so she must have been 8 weeks gone then! I wouldn't be able to lie about it I would be grinning from ear to ear the day I get bfp - although would want to keep it secret!! Oh my god massiffffeeee waffling - apologies - and thats without a glass of wine! So basically Ready I know but we will keep smiling and trying

Rah hope all is going well with you - fingers crossed

Nappy hope all well with you - yes am definitely booking appointment I am getting far too stressy about this ttc lark and hearing others announcements...I need to chill...

Hello to everyone else - I am off for a small wine to reeelaaaaaxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ready · 12/01/2008 17:50

Minxi - Don't you dare apologise for waffling. I am the Queen of Waffle It means a lot that you took the time to waffle in my direction I know you are right, I will just keep smiling and trying. I guess I am just having a bit of a low day
I feel for you with your friend announcing her pg, when my bf told me she was pregnant I was devastated. As soon as I got off the phone I had to ring dh straight away, and just sobbed down the phone at him . It's not that I wasn't happy for her, I was just gutted for me. It's really hard when you are trying to hear others news and not be affected by it - you are certainly not odd If anything I would think you were odd if you didn't get upset by it.

I have umm-ed and aaa-ed over having a glass of wine, and a great friend persuaded me to just go for it, and not to worry about possibly being pregnant... so I will be joining you Minx with a glass of vino.

Well well well looks like my LP is getting worse that is 2 cycles in a row that have had an LP of 7! Although I have been lazy and not taking any supplements.

Time fr some accupuncture or reflexology (or modern drugs I am not fussy)

minxi I am sorry but we both know I can waffle a whole lot more that that, you can't have my waffling crown!!! But sorry your DH is not understanding. I definately think that for them if they have a child then they feel they have proved their virility and anything else is a bonus. For us the longing is as painful (although different if TTC#1) no matter which child you long for.

ready we will get there. Are you getting scared like me that us old timers are going to be the only ones left on here. I hope we all TTC at the same time.

Soory to see you back at the top Nappy and LP 7!! {{hugs}}

Ready I also woke up feeling dehydrated but I did have three glasses - a friend popped round so had to have extra with her! oh well can't live like a nun all the time and sometimes this ttc lark gets to you..

Hey Rainbowdays. we appreciate the waves!

Hey ready I had a whole half bottle!!
You cannot put your entire life on hold waiting for TTC, a glass of wine now and then will not harm the baby. At least not between ovulation and BFP - have to admit I would stop at BFP.
Ready you clearly need more practice or more expensive wine!!

I'm going to have myself a big glass 'o' wine tonight - no sign of any fertile CM at all so far and I usually have some by now. All of my OPKs are coming back negative as well, so feeling a bit fed up. I know I've got no right to moan at all, especially considering what everyone else here is going through/has gone through - I'm really sorry if I'm coming across as selfish.

Can I pick your brains please ladies? I'm fairlyt new to OPKs, having only used them for a couple of cycles. I've yet to get a positive test result with them. I'm currently testing twice a day (at the same times each day, obviously) to try and determine when my surge occurs. So far, I've tried testing at 11am, 2pm and 5pm. If I have another cycle with no positive OPK, is it worth trying tests earlier in the morning and later in the evening next time? Or do they just not work for some people? I'm half tempted to jack them in once I've used up the stash I've got right now....

Rainbowdays thank you for thinking of us old timers....we will get there soon!! Hope your pg is going well for you

Nappy I agree you need a glass or two or three to keep you sane through this ttc!!

FP don't know much about opk's I'm afraid -but I think twice a day is probably right say 11am and 3pm that should give enough surge but I'm not entirely certain.
I have a monitor which I bought off ebay recently used it the first month and didn't get a peak - forgot to use it last month and this month have used it and did get the peak...which obviously I was quite excited about..

Ready hope you are alright - I saw your other thread but haven't had chance to write and I don't like being on too many threads just not enough time...but I hope your okay, this is our year we have been on here far too long to be on this temping threads any longer!! so come on girl get your boots we're leaving soon - along with anyone else who wants to come Seriously though how about the refexologist? I am calling today!!!- although we're not going to need to this month are we !?! must dash and get ds's ready for school - keep smiling and positive thoughts please..

Rah hope you are at a pc soon...hope all going well and you are feeling ok x

HI all

We have finally resolved our internet access (touch wood) otherwise something serious might happen to SKY call centre. I have never had the misfortune to have dealings with such a bunch of incompetents! There is one girl in Ireland that push me right to my limits that I nearly got on a plane and committed murder! GRRRRR
But the good news is I'm finally BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO

Well firstly thank you everyone for your encouragement for Isabelle. I will know in about 10days if she has hatched properly! ARRR
I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but its so hard... For once lord I just want something to go right!

Hi Gracie and Rainbow - thanks for dropping by, hope you are both doing well!

MINXI - so pleased to hear you got a peak this month... woohooo

FP - I used every type of OPK available. I ended up using the cheap ones off the internet but they were quite hit and miss. I ended up getting a high in the evenings and then it happened every month from then. But I think it took about 2 months before I got my first high. I now use the same monitor as minxi and its so much less hassle than OPK as you get positives before the peak, so if you have a temperamental hubbie like mine that goes on a sex strike at the wrong time you can give them plenty of warning Or trick them a bit more successfully!

Nappy - I think your so right about drinking. I don't see any harm in having a little drink or two even if it is after ovulation. I make sure I don't go out and get to the point where I'm puking around this time, but I certainly enjoy a drink. I did stop as soon as I got my BFP last time and will do next time as well. I certainly think its worth the 9 month wait to have alcohol intolerance and then getting pissed on one glass of wine and a healthy baby to boot!

Ready - A massive thank you for being my personal forum updater... (you did it so well). Sorry to hear you think you are on another cycle soon. But this theory of new house, new baby must be kicking in for us that have moved very shortly!

Lady lush - Love the name and welcome. I'm rah been trying for AGES! I'm currently undergoing IUI (just in case I mention it 100 times) I'm 32 and in desperate hope that our fortunes will change shortly

Hope everyone is well and so glad to be back!

minxi · 14/01/2008 21:20

Slight funding crisis at work means there is very little I can do here - so must return to MN just to keep myself occupied

Hello to everyone I haven't formerly met yet (though I've been lurking and eavesdropping on your conversations a bit)

Had a fabulous holiday - I know, seems like ages ago already. Released the reins on DH to go out and drink as he wanted - binge drinking by government standards, but he still restrained himself a little, so I was proud. I'm back to counting units for us both again now

Almost burst into tears when DH said (as fireworks exploded overhead and all around Edinburgh - last year's disaster meant they pulled out all the stops) his NY resolution was to get me pregnant

I do have great hopes for us all this year, at the moment I am channelling my optimism to Rah and Ready.

NappyValley - I've had contistent 11 day LP since taking evening primrose oil (cd1-ov) and cutting way back on caffeine. Before that it was 8/9 days. Did both together, don't know which helped (if either) now have to stick with them both. Vit B6 didn't help me at all.

ladylush · 15/01/2008 16:36

I have a question - when would one expect their tpr to go above the cover line? Before ovulation or after? Is it supposed to stay higher until period starts?

Hi Ladylush - I think that your temperature will go up after you've ovulated and remain above your cover line until your period starts (if it does ). If you're using the Fertility Friend software to chart, it normally waits until you've had three consecutive high temperatures before giving you a cover line and an ovulation date. HTH!

ladylush · 15/01/2008 18:31

Thank you and if it doesn't go up I suppose I haven't ovulated.

RahRah1 · 15/01/2008 19:31

Hi all... Can you believe the blinking rain! GRRR rain makes me feel worse about life, I hate the rain! So wet and cold...

ladylush - hi there, I can remember you as plummymummy, nice to catch up again. I bet you are a bit posh! Hows tricks?
FP is right your temp will rise just after you ovulated and will stay above your coverline until just before your period is due. My temp often starts decreasing about 2 days prior to my AF starting, occassionally it will be high on the day I come on (just to do my head in). Or if your pregnant it will remain high, some people who are pregnant experience a dip and then a rise again, this is around day 8ish when implantation takes place. I think there is some information on FF about it.

rattling - hooray for the funding crisis! Welcome back and so glad you had a good holiday. ARRRRR at your DH for his new years resolution. I'm sure he will keep to it and it will come true! But must admit since we had our IUI my DH has been very supportive, wonder how long he will last though?

Ready - wish I could cheer you up... If I could give you a hug in RL I would and chocolates and flowers and Liz Earle and a day out with me in Selfridges!

minxi - uncross your self,, I don't want you hurting just for me! Hope all is well in the Minxi household.

FP - any joy with the OPK? It is purely trial and error.

NappyValley - have you put the wine down yet, or you still enjoying yourself!

Hello to everyone else, hope everyone is in good health and OK.
