Hope you have all had a lovely christmas

Well I am scared to type this (let alone say it out load) after last time but I got a BFP this morning!!! I am so scared and happy all rolled into one because of MC in October I so hope this one holds on.

Research!!!

Ok she seems to be saying that you should use your fertile signs (EWCM) and shag like bunnies around that time but during the month as well.

The crux of her argument seems to be that women these days are career driven and find it hard to accept that they can't necessarily have a baby at the push of a button. She says most women and men trying to conceive need better nutrition (no fast food, no chemicals), less stress, slow down their lives, minimise hormone disrupters (alcohol, cigarettes, artificial sweeteners, drugs Prescription and illegal), sort out emotional issues etc.

Have to say I followed the advice last time and was pg within 3 months. Some of it sounds a load of bunkum "meditate on the colour blue" springs to mind, but much of it is common sense - eat better, avoid chemicals, reduce stress, relax, sort your head out.

I sort of understand the 15 shags a month thing as it fits with her philosophy - get less stressed, more free time, fitter and healthier. Sort out emotional issues and lots of sex and possibly pregnancy will follow - however I can also see that it may not be that easy for some people.

I do know that she has a reputation as someone who can get people pregnant "naturally" when they have been advised by doctors to have IVF but have no personal experience beyond the fact that it worked for me last time - but I may have fallen pg that quickly regardless!!.

Ah well for those of you to read this far I think it is probably worth a read although I would go for this book rather than the other one I recommended in an earlier post - simpler and more pictures - an easier read.

Minxi ... sorry you think AF could be on her way. Let's hope she isn't!! Very of you going to spa ...

FYM ... thank you for being our researcher!! Don't think I'll ever manage 15 shags per month (15 per quarter might be more realistic for me ) but I can see where a lot of her theory makes sense. By all reports, she does have a great track record of helping couples get pg. Really need to work on getting fitter & losing weight ... think that could make all the difference for me. Thank you for the tip re the other book - I'll definitely look out for it!!

Hope everyone has a good Monday!!

That sounds interesting, ginseng and vitc may increase DH sex drive?
Definitely worth a try.
We have had an awful weekend as regards BD, too much on, too tired etc etc
So any help to meet up with your numbers fym would be good

rattling · 03/03/2008 12:35

Up till last month I was very happy with DH's commitment to the cause. Then we got his recent, even worse than the first set, of poor SA results and he got a bit down and his once reliable libido took a nose dive - adding to his stress .

I added Korean Ginseng to his vitamin mix about a week ago and he is firing on all cylinders again . He is naturally very upbeat, so perhaps a 2 week depression was all he could sustain. But thought you might like to know about more anecdotal evidence of ginseng aiding libido.

I've checked back and even during our shagathon months we've not come close to 15 times . And I thought we were really going for it

I was going to start recording my temps today - but I forgot this morning till I'd been up to the toilet and played with the kitten a bit - so it's a little high and will be discarded.

minxi · 03/03/2008 12:39

15 ....is that per year - 1 a month with three extra for holidays and christmas!! only joking - only managed twice this month due to everything else going on and as I am away this weekend - and probably with af due seems another week will pass us by
I think as we have been ttc we manage it 6 - 8 times per month...?!
In-laws were questioning us this weekend regarding another one and we said yes maybe we would like another one....when it happens it happens etc.... 3 years since discussing the idea I am not so sure it is ever going to be that easy!

minxi · 03/03/2008 12:40

hello rattling - crossed posts....hope you are alright!!
What vits do you give your dh ? Think my dh would be tired with or without vits

No, not brave enough to start another thread.

Also, for those interested in vits, I forgot DH also takes Selenium on top of vit c, omega, multivit and zinc. He does complain he rattles .

ClairLesley · 03/03/2008 14:03

Oh, I like 'Springing into BFPs' also ... good thinking, Hanaflower

Rattling ... glad to hear your DH is cooking with gas again After FYM's recommendation, I bought some for DH & he's started to take as of today ... hoping the effects will hit home in time for our BD marathon next week

Minxi ... I'm with you - in an ideal world, 15 times per month would equal once per month, one for each birthday, and one for either Christmas or Valentine's Day. Perfectly reasonable.

Ladies ... what vits do each of you take apart from pre-natals? FYM ... what does V/Zita recommend us women take? Would love to know if I'm missing out on something! ATM, I take Sanatogen ProNatal, plus evening primrose oil from AF until ov, and then flax seed oil (veg Omega 3) from ov to AF. Would you recommend anything else??
