Thanks for all of the house advice last night, ladies - it's really appreciated! Haven't got long right now so will be brief;

have had 6 valuations and gone on market lower than any of them, there are 4 properties like ours on market, we are cheaper than two and a couple of grand higher than the other two, which both need heaps and heaps and heaps of work doing to them. We're thinking of reducing asking price further though and will talk to our agent about it.

I'm 39 () and feel like time is runnning out, especially as I'll be 40 in October, AAAAGH.

Temp has gone back up today, strangely. Spotting seems to have lessened too, although there is still a small amount. No cramps yet but have sore boobs. Not testing until tomorrow though as I don't want to face the disappointment so I'm putting it off as long as I can!

Will catch up properly later on.

Glad to see you have your back Ready, and looking forward to hearing what you have been up to recently.

NappyValley I'm also desperate enough to try to lose the last feeble vice I was enjoying - I've switched to Rooibus tea (actually I quite like it)

FYM sorry to hear about your fall from a "small cliff". I'm feeling all lovely and optimistic this month, so you go ahead and get pregnant on your 1st month trying. Of course that opinion will change when my AF arrives - prepare to be snubbed.

Hanaflower You are experiencing a "slowrise" - it is the norm for me and, I believe, for many people who are capable of getting pregnant.

I am 37 and have been trying to get on with it for ages. I'm supposed to be thinking about no.2 now

My temp is on the way down!!

Ready · 29/01/2008 14:53

Sorry I have not been about, had friends visiting for the weekend, which was really good fun and had very little time to get online. But you have all been a chatty lot ? which I always like to see Oh, and I had a job interview last week? so fingers crossed for that

Rattling, phew, finally I find someone who likes rooibos tea, dh complains that it smells like tobacco and refuses to drink it ? but I actually really like it. Do you drink yours with milk? I do, and it?s delish How?s work going? Oh, and how?s your kitten? Settling better?

Rah, where are you flower? Are you going to be taking clomid this cycle? Or is it too late? What?s the deal? Fingers and toes crossed for you as always.

Minxi, you?ve been very quiet for you. Everything ok? I had an Indian head massage yesterday (wanted to feel the water with the reflexology friend of mine ? not going to go down that route with her as I don?t feel comfortable sharing my personal feelings with her. Shame but I will look for someone else to do it) and found it really relaxing. How are you getting on with the reflexology yourself?

Babybump2b, sorry if your questions have already been answered, but I am catching up ? LP = luteal phase. This is the stage from ovulation to menstruation, and is normally the same length from month to month (give or take a day as we work in days but our bodies work in hours and minutes ) ? the way to determine the length of your LP is to work out when you ovulate, as you are temping within a month or two it should become obvious when you are ovulating. But also CM is a good indicator of ovulation, and the temps and CM combined can give a good picture. There?s always OPKs if you want to try something else too. But anyway, your temp usually spikes or certainly rises within 24-48 hours after ovulation due to the rising levels of progesterone and stays elevated until menstruation. The LP should be at least 10 days to enable implantation of a fertilised egg, and can be as long as 16 days I think. Hope this all makes sense??

NappyValley, well done on giving up caffeine and tannin, was it prompted by the miscarriage link in the news this week? I don?t think I could ever completely give up caffeine, I do love a cup of Twinings but I don?t just drink that all the time now, so better than I was before, 4 cups of black tea a day ? I have the odd latte too ? How are you finding it? Have you got the headaches from the detox yet?

Ladylush, I am pretty sure that ovulation can be later than day21, it all depends on the length of your cycle. If your cycles are 40 days long for example then there would be no reason why ovulation wouldn?t occur on day 26 ??? ? the LP is the stable part of the cycle, pre-ov can vary month to month because of various factors. So yeah, essentially, when there is fertile CM then keep going
I don?t get sensitive breasts before, only after ovulation. Well, nipples more than breasts actually (o)(o)

FP, I really think you ought to be linking to outfits that you have picked up pmsl at ?bingo wings? ? have not heard that term in ages
I am sorry to read that you think that you may be out of the running this month. Boooooo. Fingers crossed you are wrong, but unfortunately, we get to know our bodies pretty well when we chart and observe. Hugs. I am also sorry that your house has been on the market for such a long time. It?s not easy in that situation to think of anything but selling the house. Hang in there, the winter is the hardest time, hopefully once the weather gets better things will pick up and you will get a new wave of prospective purchasers The agent is just as important as the asking price IMO, of course you need to pitch the AP at the right level, which you obviously are, but if your agents are not aggressively marketing your property then it won?t matter. Some friends of ours were on the market ages, and have very few viewings, they decided to go with an agent that had lots of properties on their books similar to theirs and sold within the month. So a good agent is worth every penny.

FYM, how much have you spent on pregnancy tests - you said you were not temping on hols, but were you noting your CM at all? Can you remember when it dried up? Personally, I would wait for as long as possible to test, I know it isn?t easy holding out, but a BFN means nothing on its own, so if you can hold out from testing, do.

Hanaflower, do you have a FF chart that we could look at? It?s just that sometimes when you have what you are describing it is sometimes called a triphasic chart, which is a good indication of pregnancy. The temp spikes at ovulation, and then again at implantation? so it would be interesting to have a look at your chart

Crumbs? at 28 (nearly 29) I?m not still the youngest of the bunch am I?

Ok? enough of my waffle for today

Gawd... I am the youngest

pmsl Hanaflower at your dh wanting the activities to continue . Yes FF is free, and you get a trial period with lots of VIP functions, then it goes to the basic chart or you have to pay for the VIP features to continue. I have FF just to share with the gals on here, I have a little booklet that I use for me. Fingers crossed for you. Oh yeah... your CM question... meant to post on your thread but forgot, sorry about that. There is a method, rather lab-coat, for distinguishing between CM and leftovers, someone once told me (on here by the way, not a random RL conversation ) that if you put the produce into water, if it is leftovers it will disintegrate and if it is CM then it remains... Not sure how reliable that is

Ready · 29/01/2008 16:03

Meant to say.... for those who remember LondonLottie, she popped into a thread I am on the other day to say hello, she said she was back, but not seen her since then. It was lovely to see that she is well... and hoping to hear more from her soon. Just thought I would say, as I know the thread has changed a LOT, but there are a few of us, still here.

Hi ladies
Ready - I got an LH surge on 15/1 so I doubt that I will ovulate late (it's either happened or isn't going to iyswim). My cm has changed over past two days and is dry/crumbly (sorry if tmi ). I'm sure I read in the Tony Weschler book that it should be dry after ovulation. Will see if I can link my ff chart here.

ladylush · 29/01/2008 18:13

Erm...........how do I send a link for my chart? Bit too old for all this technology

ladylush · 29/01/2008 18:17

Oh and my cycle is never longer than 30 days. Last month I got two episodes of bleeding 2 weeks apart. At least I've got to CD21 with none.

I get sensitive nipples in the lp too - nipples more than breasts.

Ready · 29/01/2008 18:33

I think you open up your ff page, and there is a section on the left hand side that says "sharing" - click - then at the top of the page it takes you to, will should have a web address - cut and paste - et voila the link should take you to the chart

FurtivelyPosting · 29/01/2008 19:11

Hey there, Ready! Lovely to see you back! Thanks for all the advice too - I totally agree with you regarding the importance of a good agent. Our first agent was totally rubbish and our current one seems a lot better. I think I might give them a ring tomorrow and ask about dropping the price etc.

Hi to everyone else too - what kind of day has everyone had?

I don't know what's going on with me. No sign of AF yet. It's FF recommended test date tomorrow but I'm expecting AF to arrive by then. Spotting has lessened and is more brown now but I have started to get cramp type pains on and off since 5pm. I think this means that AF is on the way although TMI ALERT!!! the pains might be to do with my bowels. I don't want to be disappointed so I'm going to wait until tomorrow and see if AF is here (as I fully expect) before testing.

freddiesyummymummy · 29/01/2008 20:32

Hiya
Not spent much on tests - most are the cheepie ebay ones. Just did one First response when I thought maybe the cheepies were faulty (or not as it turned out!). I've done three tests all BFN.
AF due tomorrow but may have late OV. (Due to OV on 16th but didn't chart temp so may be later - it's showing as 19th on chart due to the temperatures not being there but am sure it can't have been that late....)
chart
