i'm sorry to hear that, fym. still keeping my fingers crossed for you - i remember you saying that you didn't get a bfp until 12dpo last time, so it could still be too early. as long as there's no af, there's still a chance. wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow.

Morning girls....hope all well - will be back later to chat

freddiesyummymummy · 27/01/2008 13:44

It's all a bit of an assumption here as I could be anywhere between +or- 3 of 11DPO (so could be 8DPO to 14DPO) as I didn't temp on holiday. I'm assuming I followed the same pattern as I used to but don't know for sure - esp as I fell down a cliff when skiing and had to be rescued by a man on a rope that may have delayed ov as it was the day before I was 'due' to OV.....- it was a small cliff so nothing to worry about....

AF isn't due until Weds in any event so we'll have to see.

Also what about those cheapie eBay pg tests - are they as good as first response? they are the ones you can test early on but never used them before so any views??? (used first response with DS).

freddiesyummymummy · 27/01/2008 14:02

I think I'll test tomorrow with the 1st response (although I do resent paying the huge price for them.)

I know the eBay ones were advertised as 10mIU but it doesn't say on them what they are and I'm suspicious.

ladylush · 27/01/2008 16:29

I used 10miu ones and didn't get a positive much earlier than I did with clear blue digital - a couple of days earlier maybe but the lines were mega faint and open to interpretation iyswim. I think your cliff antics could defo have delayed your ovulation so don't give up hope yet

FurtivelyPosting · 27/01/2008 19:00

Yep, hang in there FYM!

I think I'm out of the running this month - have had some bloodied CM, a little cramping and I'm craving chocolate. I reckon these are all signs that AF is on the way. Oh well. Hopefully next month will be my lucky month!

hey all. Falling down cliffs - that definitely might cause a delayed OV, all that adrenaline flowing, and then being rescued on by man and rope! I hope you imagined he looked like Sean bean - oops private fantasy moment!!

mmm looks like OV very late this month, still waiting for EWCM. Did I mention I have quit caffine and tannin - IT IS SOOOO HARD in the morning to not reach for the caffine, but so far so good. Haven't quit the alcohol yet though!!!

Thinking of you all on your 2WW.

to Rah jus cos I feel like it!!

ladylush · 27/01/2008 19:53

Well done on quitting the caffeine and tannin nappyvalley. I have cut down my intake but I only drink a couple of cups of tea a day so I think that should be ok. I was drinking diet coke on work days (4 days a week) but gave that up as found out it has more caffeine than a cup of coffee. As for alcohol - I can't give that up as I have a name to live up to However, I only drink at the weekend now and have stopped during the fertile period (though I did have a small glass of red wine yesterday). I could be ttc for ages and I don't want to stop enjoying life iykwim.

freddiesyummymummy · 27/01/2008 20:08

Well it was only a small cliff.... sort of about 6 feet (snow covered so nice and soft) but once I was down there was no way back up.... I have to say I was sweating a bit!!!
The worst bit was that it happened while I was trying to get DH's ski which had fallen off the chair lift - why didn't he go I hear you ask..... VERY good question ! I had to call him on the mobile to say I was stuck.

Congrats on the caffene. I need to cut down the tea, I have about 7 cups a day but I think tea caffene isn't as bad as coffee and coke which I cut out when I was TTC DS.

PS on a cutsie note DS(2.2) saw the moon this morning and thought it might fall on his head!

ladylush · 27/01/2008 20:13

Ah, how cute

ladylush · 27/01/2008 20:18

well, i've had no more spotting so it seems that yesterday's was a one off (fingers crossed). temperature a little lower today but still above the cover line. still trying desperately hard not to get my hopes up, so i'll just have to wait and see what the next couple of days bring. sorely tempted to test but still haven't had my tests from ebay yet. . i might see if sainsbury's do any cheapie ones or it might be best to try to avoid that aisle. AAAARGH!

freddiesyummymummy · 28/01/2008 09:30

I just keep thinking that I can't be on the 1st month of trying...

Wish I had temped properly on holiday but lost the thermometer so don't know exactly when I OV'd.

FurtivelyPosting · 28/01/2008 19:58

Oh dear. I've started spotting properly now. Fully expecting AF to arrive tomorrow. Pissed off but I'll be ok. Might be time for a chat with DH about whether we should make a more determined effort now. We've been a bit half-hearted so far because we're meant to be selling the house first but God knows how long that's going to take (have been on the market for 6 months now ) and I'm not getting any younger. Have even started thinking about finding out more about those companies that buy your house at a reduced price. We'd lose money, how much I don't know. Desperation is starting to set in!

freddiesyummymummy · 28/01/2008 20:59

FP -
Take it off the market for a month or so then put it back on - then it may get some viewings as it will be like a new in property. Check your price vs. others available like it..... you may just be a few thousand over in your asking price which means others are getting all the viewings....
Swap agents to one who guarantees they have customers queueing for your type of property...
Sorry if you know this already but MIL is a property developer and knows all the tricks. (ps she also buys houses but you won't get a good deal from her or any other company that takes houses off peoples hands!)

freddiesyummymummy · 28/01/2008 21:00

PS how old are you FP? (I'm 34 and think I need to get on with it)

BabyBump2B · 28/01/2008 21:38

Oh FP House selling sucks! It took 40 viewings to sell our house. Very frustrating! I think FYM's advice is great. The other thing that really helped us was we got loads of valuations and some of them were out to lunch - they varied by 75k! In the end we took a median mark and went with that - we ended up accepting 4k less but were very happy!

I'm 32 and I think I need to get on with it too!

xoxo
