Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

OP posts:
jeddah · 18/11/2004 21:01

yea! bloody 23 days!!!!!!!!

Just off to watch dispatches.......MMR!

velcrobott · 18/11/2004 21:16

Read the threads,..... they're out to get wakefield..... if the journalist is on a mission then I don't trust his report....

crazylegs · 18/11/2004 21:53

Thanks for the congrats - girls.

Munnzieb - I tried 3 cycles of girl theory but that wasn't working for me and then one normal cycle. On the normal I tried the OV kits for the first time - I think they clinched it as my OV was slightly later than I thought plus girl theory you have to stop about 3 days before you ov and then I was about two days late to ov therfore I was trying 5 days before - which was nuts!

Hester - the girl at work that I mentioned earlier was told that she could wait for one cycle, but if she didn't want to wait a cycle just to go for it.

Loads and loads of baby dust to you all xxxxxxxxx

Also congrats to all the other BFPs

jeddah · 18/11/2004 22:11

vel, I think the bottomline is......
scientifically wakefields studies were unsubstantial and lots of data was missed out! irrespective of whos out to get who

jeddah · 18/11/2004 22:13

beckif agree with your comments on the 'washing the sperm thread!! I added a right clanger!...which I am afraid to say is very true (sorry to disappoint people who are trying to select genger

BeckiF · 18/11/2004 22:21

Thanks jeddah. I didn't want to be rude to the thread, but it's often easy to forget just what a miracle it is when it happens naturally for you like that.

jeddah · 18/11/2004 22:30

Tania....your're quiet today?????
are you OK?

I guess you are in the bed now? its about ........hang on.................its about 9.30am.......where are you??

jeddah · 18/11/2004 22:40

jeddah · 18/11/2004 22:45

footstep · 19/11/2004 07:43

ernest - when will you test? anyone else testing soon?

x

BeckiF · 19/11/2004 07:48

Morning all - temp is up this morning ... could be that I had a go at ovulating or could be PCOS

Hulababy · 19/11/2004 08:21

CD18 today and temps went up this morning. I think I had EWCM yesterday too, but still not 100% of spotting that. LOL!

Congratulations Crazylegs

Take care everyone; good luck all!

Tania2 · 19/11/2004 08:26

ernest · 19/11/2004 10:46

i jus gave in & tested... and got BFN no af tho

Sallie · 19/11/2004 10:52

Ernest - sorry about your bfn - but if you still don't have af in a few days, might be worth testing again...you never know....

Tania2 · 19/11/2004 11:13

ernest it may be too soon though. Fingers crossed for you remember its not over till the fat lady sings.....

runtus · 19/11/2004 11:23

Sorry Earnest, I know you had your hopes up. Don;t give up yet though, still time if no af.....

ernest · 19/11/2004 11:45

maybe I've missed that bit in the test instructions, but if you keep staring at the bfn under spotlight/natural light/out of the kitchen window, say for 30 seconds every 10 minutes or so, it will after some perseverance turn into a bfp. Right?
my boys keep asking my 'what's that mummy? Can I have one?" (anything that rustles must be sweets)

runtus · 19/11/2004 11:52

I find that if you leave a BFN for long enough and then try and sneak up on it, for a second or two it will display all the signs of a bfp....then it realiases you are there and goes back to bfn mode again. B's!

BeckiF · 19/11/2004 11:58

OOoohhhhhh why can't I get pregnant

DP and I so want this....I feel lower than ever today.

runtus · 19/11/2004 12:04

Oh BeckiF, sorry you are feeling so low today honey....theres nothing I can say that will make it all better but hope my MASSIVE HUG will at least give you a nice warm feeling for a moment.

You need to have a really indulgent evening, plenty of wine, chocolate and cuddles from your fab dh.

Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow

runtus · 19/11/2004 12:32

Where is everyone today? All a bit quiet..........

Sallie · 19/11/2004 12:44

I am here although no real news I am afraid. Am on cd 7 - af still with me which is getting me down. Can hardly move today as went to the gym yesterday for the first time in ages. Got a bit carried away and am suffering for it today!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend and good luck to all who are testing

RudyDudy · 19/11/2004 12:51

Hi all - no news here either but just popped in to say hello.

Sorry about BFN ernest - fingers crossed you were just too early.

beckif - sorry to hear you are feeling low I know how much you want this and I really hope that it happens for you soon (((hugs))) wishing you a lovely, relaxing weekend.

I'm CD4 here and AF has gone in a remarkably short time. Not sure it means anything other than that my body is unpredictable and inconsistent!

Hope all are well. Who's testing this weekend???
RD xxx

Hulababy · 19/11/2004 12:55

Sorry about BFN Ernest

Feeling too stressed today - house we want has gone to sealed bids; deadline is this afternoon. We should know if we won it by close of business today.
