Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

OP posts:
Munnzieb · 17/11/2004 21:44

Hi all, another stupidly late night, been waiting for dh to finish installing new pc - finally it's my turn to play .

Congratulations Jiminycricket - ace news, here's to a happy, healthy nine months x

Munzieb, hope you get your night out soon - enjoy!

Hester, thinkin gof you again today - {{{hugs}}} x

Not much to report here, just waiting really, af due 24th Nov if cycle back to norm and if not could be due as late as 2nd Dec - if not pg would settle for my cycle being back to what it was before mc. Chest feeling sore and hefty still, trying not to read too much into it given the last few months.

Hello all

Firstly Hester - I am so sorry to hear your news. A girl at work who is 38 had a miscarriage lately but managed to fall pregnant again very soon after and I hope you will fall pregnant again very soon.

My news - BFP last night ..... Very excited but apprehensive aswell considering what can happen.

Lots of Baby Dust to you all......

MommyD · 18/11/2004 08:27

ernest · 18/11/2004 08:41

glad yoour persona arrived jeddah- have you managed to reset it & get it all programmed ok?
congrats jiminy cricket & crazylegs. lovely news.

hester, i really don't know anything, but is it not best to have a period first? Like I saw, I don't know anything. Maybe you can ask when you go for your scan. It may seem to you like overkill, but I am very glad they seem to be looking after you.

baby dust to all xxxxx

congratultions crazylegs, how long were u ttc? (whispers..... don't 4get to share the baby dust! lol)

Nikkichik · 18/11/2004 09:17

Excellent news Crazylegs and Jimini - see, the baby dust is working already - let's just hope there's some left fo the rest of us. As for me the 'egg white' CM has arrived so it looks like it's time to test out those bedsprings over the next few days and tear DH away from his book or the TV!

geordie · 18/11/2004 09:19

Congrats to jC and Cl- what a great start to this thread!!

Hester- I have a friend who had a m/c in March and fell pg in May again and had a dd 9 mo later. It is possible and the main reason that gp's say to wait is purely becasue dating the pregnancy can be trickier...extra scans anyway due to m/c so not sure why they are sooo bothered. Some people do wait 3 months- recovery time, but as you were quite early on I can't see that jumping straight back on the ttc train would do much harm. Beside now your body knows what to do!!!

anyway.....gotta change the stats already before I post them!!! But for nice reasons

mariella · 18/11/2004 09:55

congrats jiminy! great news, lets hope this thread is a lucky one for lots of people.
hester, don't want to get your hopes up, but I have three friends who concieved the cycle after their miscarriages. two of them definitely didn't have a period first (so they were a bit confused on dates - but hey - so what?!). the other I don't know if she had a period or not. I think you are meant to be very fertile afterwards (suppose that is the silver lining, if you can find one in such a horrible thing) and that certainly seems to be the experience of lots of people I know. xx

Sallie · 18/11/2004 10:01

Don't work Wednesdays so have just returned to my desk. Wonderful news jC and cl - take care of yourselves and enjoy your pregnancies. A new thread too - lets hope there are lots of festive graduates from this one! Best of luck to those starting to use persona this month - I can't recommend it enough!! I am now cd6. Has been a rollercoaster of a few days. My sil has just had her second - a ds - and although am overjoyed for them, also felt a teeney bit . She has also pronounced she is going to have more. My dh has agreed to ttc for no 3 but I have always wanted 4 and he isn't keen. Anyway - thats moving ahead and also I am assuming I will have a no 3 - at the moment it isn't seeming easy.
Best of luck to all ttc on this thread....

Marina · 18/11/2004 10:02

Hester, I did ovulate straight after Tom's birth, didn't conceive that month as it happens. Also ovulated the following cycle, and then...badabing!
And I was using a Persona, Jeddah. Top gadgets IMO.
Congratulations to both immediate graduates and, Footstep and MrsFogi...frauds, what frauds? I think a lot of us would have been heaps better informed and cheered up if we had known about Mumsnet when ttcing #1. Instead of staggering on to here when our first babies had finally driven us bananas. Trust you will both stay put and wishing you all lots of luck.

geordie · 18/11/2004 10:11

Stats have gone up on stats post girls.....should I post them on here too...or shall I wait till tommmorrow am when you've had a chance to peak and ck that it's as near right as organising that many people can be??!!

mariella · 18/11/2004 10:16

ernest, just noticed from the other thread that you are ttc no 4 too! i'm slightly nervous about it i must say (felt slightly relieved when af came last month, don't think I was ready for pregnancy again). doing it for dh and because I think it will be lovely when they are all older (6 and above), but fully expecting it to be a bit of a nightmare for a few years. how old are your others? would love to hear how you are feeling about it all.

moschops · 18/11/2004 10:17

morning girls.

congratulations to lucky so and so's with BFP's

well i have had three nights of torture. keep waking up at 2-3am thinking 'i wish i was this alert when i have to get up for work in the morning!' have finally fallen back to sleep about 6.30 and dp wakes me up at 8am with cup of tea. yesterday i had a foul headache all day and could not concentrate at work at all.

bless my dp, i woke up about 30 mins ago and he has left me in bed and gone to work (we run our own business, i should be in the shop today, while he has a day off). i still feel absolutely shattered, my mouth feels foul, and i just had a cup of tea which had made me feel really sick.

cd 27, think i ov'd between day 15 and 19. every time i feel a bit queasy i tell myself it's my overactive imagination. really don't want to get my hopes up.

moschops · 18/11/2004 10:33

by the way.....if i sit at the computer with the thought that i can read the messages on this thread as they happen, it's always really quiet.

if i haul myself away from the computer to do some housework (translate as sit on sofa staring at housework cursing it for not doing itself!) when i come back in say, 30 mins, there will probably be a huge growth in the thread which will take me ages to read!!!

does this happen to everyone else or is it just me

footstep · 18/11/2004 10:34

hello again

thank you all so much for the lovely warm welcome!

Wow - congrats, ladies, on your BFPs! That's fantastic!

I'm dying to test now - AF due tomorrow and my temp is higher than it's ever been, except when I was preg. Help! Please talk me out of testing!

Hope everybody's well today

footstep

x

ebbie22 · 18/11/2004 10:39

I know i havent been any help to any of you lot on here and am giving up trying for a babe, right now...back to the pill for me...Though shall keep lucking and hope you all have bfp in the near future xxxx

Twiga · 18/11/2004 11:12

Congratulations Crazylegs x

Sallie, congratulaions on the safe arrival of you neice - enjoy!

Marina, not sure if I've ever said hi and welcome properly - hi! Sorry to hear about Tom, glad you've gone on to have your dd, thanks for your kind words to Hester, we're all very fond of her.

Moschops, what a lovely dh, yep I often find that things are quiet and then lively once I'm not looking too, where are you?

Ebbie, sorry to hear you're feeling discouraged about ttc, no harm in taking a break and chilling for a while, hope it helps and that it's not long before you're feeling like giving it another go, lol x

CD23 - wait feeling super long now, aaah!

Sallie · 18/11/2004 11:20

Twiga - thanks. Its actually a nephew rather than a niece but won't make that much difference as my sil and her dh are such over-protective parents that we never really see their dd and it will probably be the same for ds although don't think they really realise that having two is more than twice the work, particularly in the first year!!! Best of luck to you for this month. I am feeling nervous for you already! And a big welcome hug for Marina too.

Twiga · 18/11/2004 11:28

Sorry Sallie, can't seem to hold a thought in my head properly at the minute, really is the time of the month where I slowly go mad.....hope the situation changes and that you get to see more of them, maybe the extra work will mean they'll look to family more.

Just checked back in to say, it's snowing proplerly here, only very light just now, but this part of the country is due a covering over the next couple of days - soo excited, love the snow - well until it turns to dirty slushy stuff, then I'm not so keen ! Promised dh I'd make soup before I head off for my shift today, so better go - will check in later before work......

ernest · 18/11/2004 11:45

footstep, I'm dying to test too. I'm dying to test too. I'm dying to test too.
i can't talk you out of it, I'm too obsessed myself

Mariella, my others are - ds1 5.3, ds2 4 in January, ds3 1 yesterday!! sorry, I know you told me already about yours but I've forgotten & can't find it. I'm generally scatty. I seem to remember they're not to dissimilar to mine. I feel a fraud here myself when some people are having so much bother ttc no 1 (why do I not have a hash sign on my keyboard???). I'm normally swinging wildly between excitment & panic at the thought of 4, but as af is due tomorrow I am, as traditional, noticing millions of 'symptoms' - are they real or imaginary - hot flushes, very tired, had a great dream last night, very vivid - not like me & dh woke my up half way through . so at moment feeling desperate to test. did you see this thread ? don't any of you others look, if you haven't already seen it, don't want to be expelled from this lovely group.

ernest · 18/11/2004 11:49

sounds nice twiga, where are you?
