My break lasted long didn't it? LOL

Oh no Teuch, like I said though, it ain't over just yet!

BB, Playing is right, we all have ages to sort it out, but it is so much fun looking anyway! I have my heart set on this. DS2 had the Microlite Fastfold, with the carrycot and Maxi-Cosi carseat, I loved it, probably a bit too much loving going on considering it is a buggy after all, but never the less, it was great!!

Diege the Ponce

LG&T he sounds like a good 'un!

Playing, they had the church wedding, near enough everyone invited came in a proper wedding car, at my sisters expence. Then there was the 8 course reception dinner for 200 people, humongous wedding cake (think it was about 16 ft tall, OK OK, it wasn't that big, but it wasn't far off!) then there was a party at night, free bar, for 1500 people. Her DH is Italian, these people who came and had a free night on the piss were people who his mum and dad had invited, people who had fitted their fire place, people who fitted the windows..... Even people they had hired for the wedding, the whole photographers family was there, the caterers family, and the waitresses family.... seriously, it was ridiculous!

I had a car accident two weeks before the wedding, I was OK but had a big cut near my eye, it was stiched and looked horrid, everything had been leading up to the sodding wedding for about 3 years, the first thing my sister said to me when she saw the state of my eye was "well that's gonna look good on my wedding pictures" never mind that at the time the way it looked my eye wouldn't ever work properly again, oh and that I'd be scarred for life. As it happened it did work and the scar is surprising tiny, but none of that mattered compared to her wedding.

Grrrr I am ranting again aren't I?

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 13:16

Do I get the prize for the longest, rambliest post yet?

Playingthewaitinggame · 30/01/2008 13:34

WOW long post Natalie. That wedding sounds liek complete maddness and not fun at all. Although our was traditional it was pretty low key, just 52 of us and not poncy. Church weddings do not really have to be that expensive, but if you dont control costs and numbers it is amazing how it all racks up!

BeMyLilBaby · 30/01/2008 13:36

Sorry LRGE G&T i missed that till now, thats what i'd think of as one of those excellent silver lining stories, i managed to access your Pics too your DCS are gorgey, and im sure they make having been with a bit of a bugger (to put it mildly) worth it!

Playign thats the one thing that puts me off a wedding, the cost...DP's parents are comfortable but quite tight and technically im an orphan, so whilst my step-mum would help out i wouldnt EXPECT her too...so it would be all on us! i think if i cld do it like you Lrge G&T for 1000 or just over that would be my ideal

those of you without profiles...please make one!! im nosy!!!

x

Playingthewaitinggame · 30/01/2008 13:49

OK, just for you BB I will put some photos on my profile just for the day if you want to be nosy. I dont want to keep them in case there are people I know (say from work) who also use this website!! They will probably be wedding photos as that all I have on my computer at work!

largeginandtonic · 30/01/2008 13:53

I have changed my profile slightly and put some wedding Pics on for a nosy

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 13:58

It was a bit long wasn't it

LG&T am still slightly at your age LOL

I am away for a bit now, have to go and put some egg white on DS2 bum.....

Teuch · 30/01/2008 14:12

NJ - that egg-white really does the trick eh?!

Have now resigned myself to result - postie finally brought HPT's and one of those also say 'no'

So I am on CD32 - if I OV'd late it was probably around CD23 so heading for AF on Saturday..to be fair, hat was one of my first scenarios befoer I convinced myself otherwise . If that's the case then we totally missed theboat as I know there was no action then!

I don't 'do' planning beforehand!! So you'll get no buggy/nursery/name chat out of me!!!

largeginandtonic · 30/01/2008 14:14

The egg white DOES work! I have used that too NJ!

Bet you all think we are bonkers dontcha

Teuch · 30/01/2008 14:14

sorry, I meant to say AF on Monday

God, any wonder I get myself in such a muddler when can't even count...

zabrina · 30/01/2008 14:16

hello all, thank you for your warm welcome. I am sick of friends telling me that iv'e got years ahead for having more children and that I should concentrate on career. It doesn't stop me wanting a baby now.

It's nice to read about your relationships.

I am not married. I have been with my partner for 5 years. No plans to marry soon as it's not a priority, trying to fit everything else in has been manic.

For future reference, its nice to know that weddings can be inexpensive but still a lovely day.

However buying a house is a priority, currently saving for deposit - another reason while I'm waiting before ttc.

LARGE G&T - Just sneaked a look at your profile, your children are beautiful. How do you cope? I have struggled with ds and have just plucked up the courage to think about having another child.

largeginandtonic · 30/01/2008 14:17

Aw Teuch you never know. Dont give up hope just yet.

I have had a section (twins) emergency and they were born at 29 weeks. DD was a homebirth but she got stuck and i had to transfer in to hosp in an ambulance. DS#3 was a lovely() homebirth, ds#4 was home birth in 40 minutes! ds#5 was induced and a lengthy 6 and a half hours! He was stuck too.

I have ticked all the boxes and would like a nice normal homebirth again please.

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 14:25

Awww, it's hurting him Managed to get him to stay still for long enough for it to soak in a bit, but then he had had enough sobbing, and I'd had enough of listening to him breaking his little heart so put nappy back on. Fingers crossed it was long enough to do something! It is bleeding and weeping

Re. home birth, after last time, I am guessing we will be hoping to go to hospital, but whether I make it in time, who knows?!

happynappies · 30/01/2008 14:31

Hello - can I join you? I'm 32, and have dd (14 months) - not ttc yet... hoping to try in April/May for a 2009 baby but what will be will be. I had a difficult time with labour/birth last time (SPD, then 'cascade of intervention') and swing between thinking it will all be different next time around when I will be more assertive, in control, and it will be a great experience, and utter terror. I also swing between thinking now is the ideal time to ttc, and 'how will I cope?!!'. When the swinging finally stops I hope that I can actually fall pg, and things go to plan. Looking forward to meeting you all - have never joined a thread like this, but am hoping it will help me approach this ttc in a positive way.

Playingthewaitinggame · 30/01/2008 14:33

OK, then got some pics on my profile. Dont have many here at work so they will haev to do

Playingthewaitinggame · 30/01/2008 14:35

ooo LG&T just looked at your profile, what lovely photos, maybe I should add more pics to mine. hmm.

Playingthewaitinggame · 30/01/2008 14:38

Hi Happynappies,

You are in the right place to stress/caht/laugh about all the stresses and strains of waiting and worrying about ttc here. I think the positivity on this thread is catching, be surprised if I managed to wait till Sept to ttc even though that is the plan!
