Luckily I dont have any close friends with babies, that must make it harder. Although I know two couples who would love to have kids, are happily married (well one lot have been happily married for the grand total of 2 days) but just like us cant afford it right now. Get the feeling the couple that just got married might go for it sooner rather than later though.

Still at least you do get to regularly play with one and get to be a god mother which is a real honour.

I have been invited round to a neighbour hood tea party on Sunday and as most people in our road have babies that sound be fun!!

BeMyLilBaby · 29/01/2008 17:25

Aw playiong i bet you'l love it

Ive found being around holly (my goddaughter) has been really gd for getting a practical idea, and her mum, kirsty is so relaxed she makes it all seem so easy, ive worked out tht when we have our, hol's will just over one, and kirsty might be considering number two, my friend tash also is due may so ill have plenty of friends who are in a similar situation to meet up with which i think helps alot, just cant WAIT! xx

Playingthewaitinggame · 29/01/2008 17:35

I would quite like lots of friends with babies, be nice when I have mine. However, might end up making friends with the households in our road (5 of which have babies) so I might have lots of friends with babies . Early days yet, only been in our house for 2 months, but I can see us all getting along well, bring on the summer and the bbq's. It nearly BBQ season already, only another month or so to go, Barbie always comes out in March!! Sorry, always get really excited about spring/summer

Yes, bring on the summer We haven't had a BBQ since 2006, normally we are out every weekend having one, but last year between the crap weather and the stupid hours DH was doing, we didn't get chance. We didn't even make it to Blackpool for the day!

DS2 has just, for the first time ever, really looked up at me, pouted his lips and gave me a big proper kiss He has been giving us kisses if we put our mouth near his before, but this was one he totally thought about on his own Awwww It has made my day

I have never had any friends pregnant at the same time as me, I seem to start it off, I get pregnant have baby, then they all get pregnant, I get pregnant again have the baby, then they all got pregnant, I wonder if they all want a third?!!

Diege · 29/01/2008 20:04

Oh NJ that is sooo sweet! Makes up for all the sleepless nights/tantrums/wingeing doesn't it
Agreed to do a talk for work next October, and found myself calculating how pregnant I would be!! A good chance I'll still be ttc though (not sure what effect my age will have this time. With dd1 (surprise, on mini-pill taken 2 hours late!), dd2 first month, dd3 5 months, so not baaad, but I've certainly noticed my cycles going crazy since my mid-30s!!If ttc before, how long did it take others to get BFP (nosey again!)??
GEORDIE, love 'Milo'. I also like Felix for a boy, but dh is firm on that one (not a chance..)BEMY and PLAYING, it's great having friends with babies, esp in summertime ..antenatal groups were great for that I remember - I still see a few of them now, although going back to work does sort of get in the way! It's true what they say though, people will always talk to you if you have a baby or animal with you!
Right, my fave tv is on , Holby City and then Mistresses!

zabrina · 29/01/2008 22:14

hey all,

What a fantastic thread.

I'm really broody and struggling to decide if it's the right time for ttc.

I already have a ds, and definately know i want more children. The problem i'm having is that I only left uni last year and start first proper job in the career I want next week.

Also, i worry about the age gap between my son and future siblings, as he will be 4 this year. We have also just started saving for a deposit on a house.

Time is not an issue as I'm only 21, but still can't stop thinking about having another baby.

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 07:15

Morning all Hi Zabrina, welcome

Diege, sleepless night? Pah, haven't had one of them for about a week and a half

DS1 took six months but that was after having been on that Depo injection thing, which they say can take 18 months to come out of your system, so not too bad really. DS2 took 2 cycles after coming off the pill, so again not too bad. Don't want to get heart set on a quick BFP again though, I realise it could take a lot longer this time, just down to sheer chance.

Zab, there are a few on here waiting for the right time due to work commitments, so you are not alone. And there is nearly 5 years between my two, and I must say I think it is perfect timing TBH. We didn't have an ounce of jealousy, DS1 really took to being a big brother, and not an only child, so so well. They adore each other and play pretty well together. I will add you to the ever growing list

Ooooo weddings.... I saw a dress the other day that I actually thought about getting divorced and re-married just so I could get it LOL

I have no idea about how long it took with the miscarriage, I had been BF, using condoms, but we sometimes erm.... had a bit of erm.... fun before using the condom. Never the whole kit and caboodle IYKWIM? But obviously it was enough!

Ahem, must get DS1's packed lunch together......

BeMyLilBaby · 30/01/2008 08:34

wahey NJ that is what you call potent!!

Dresses are lovely, am gonna have baby then diet like a mad woman to get a nice wedding figure

xx

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 09:13

It is this one, I honestly would divorce and re-marry him to wear this dress, if I was a size 6 with no norkage getting in the way!!

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 09:14

Forgot to say, look at the back of it, beautiful!!!

BeMyLilBaby · 30/01/2008 09:44

omg that dress is A-mazing!!!! ii love it i bet it costs a Bomb tho!!

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 09:58

I haven't found any price lists from new, but people who are selling second hand ones, say the price new was around £850, not too bad I think for a full on, bloody gorgeous wedding dress!

I do love it, my sister is getting married (at some point....!) maybe I can talk her into it!

How sad am I? I have been very happily married for over 7 years, and yet here I am still looking at wedding dresses!

Are there fab wednesdays?

I have one asleep, 1 being a nightamer jam on toast eating loon, 1 (who should be at school) waiting for a doc appointment and 3 at school. My day is going to be a round of pick up and drop offs with a doc appointment and playschool visit in between.

One of them has just asked for flapjacks too, not sure when i'm going to make them. Sometimes i think it would be nice to go back to work, i could have a wee on my own and a lunch break...

Teuch whats it like your end today? C'mon postie!

Nice to have you Zab!

BeMyLilBaby · 30/01/2008 10:26

HE HE thats mad eme smile, £850 isnt THAT much especially if we do go abroad to marry cos i would have a party when i came back so i would wear it twice

Wednesdays are the hump day, just got to plough thru them....a step closer to the weekend! i spose that does eman im not happy in my job eh? ho hum not long to stay in it i guess, moneys gd and benefits so just gotta think of the greater good x

Teuch · 30/01/2008 10:34

well, looks like a longer cycle for me, rather than a BFP as the HV, she say 'no'!!

Still doesn't explain why I've been feeling so rough and I've had a serious headache now for a day and a half??!!

Ridiculous, I know, but I just don't belive it is over for this month!!

BeMyLilBaby · 30/01/2008 10:38

So teuch have you done the test yet? i wouldnt take that at facce value? damn the postie x

Playingthewaitinggame · 30/01/2008 11:06

Morning all,

Welcome Zabrina. You're not the only young one on here, and certainly not the only one waiting for financial/career reasons, this is why I am waiting.

I had loads of BBQ's last year, despite the weather. I am pretty much an all year round BBQer (with the exception of Nov-Feb). I love them, I think it is the tastiest way to cook a leg of lamb, or in fact anything . BB southsea common is a good place for a picnic, another one of my fav summer activities!!!!

Natalie that is a lovely wedding dress. You don't have to spend a fortune on a dress mine was £675 and a strapless A line which obviously I loved . Nothing wrong with looking at wedding dresses, I am still enthralled by mine (and other peoples) I loved it and that was over 3 years ago!

Diege · 30/01/2008 11:13

Arghh, just lost a long post! TEUCH, so did the hv do a test then? If so, might still be too early to tell if you ovulated late?
NJ, love the dress, but can you ingaine how many pairs of shoes you could buy for £850 . My wedding dress was bought at 5.20pm from Monsoon without trying on, as they were hoovering round my feet! I just knew it was the one! Remember having to have it taken in as too big (it was a size 8 and I was 24 weeks pregnant with dd1 when I got married). Had a laugh when same weeks pregnant with dd3 and it wouldn't even fit past my knees .
Welcome ZAB! Everyone is v.friendly here, and we are very open about EVERYTHING
GIN, you sound very organised actually! Lol at going to work for a peaceful wee! I must say I really do enjoy my lunchbreaks etc far more than pre-children. I also love my 4 hour round-trip commute Mon-Thurs, as I get a chance to read/relax and DO NOTHING!!!
Right, better get some work done. I'm working from home today (ahem..)as I can't shake this cold, but don;t want to take a day sick. I save 'sickies' up for when dds are ill - bad eh !

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 11:36

The only wedding we have coming up is my sisters, and they haven't even set a date yet so that could be 2018 before they get round to it! Though obviously, all of my other sisters have already started whinging about it, I have heard a fully grown adult of 35 years of age almost crying and stamping her feet because she isn't going to be bridesmaid..... I don't know who gave me my sisters, wish they hadn't at times!

LG&T, just another day in your house then?! Hope it get's better as it goes on!

Teuch did she actually do a test? With DS2 I was 9 days late before I got a BFP, and I have heard of people being up to 6 weeks late before getting a BFP, so you are quite right, it is not over yet!

Playing, you have me craving BBQ bacon, stop it now! DS1 is having one of those big trampolines for his birthday so I think we will be out there come rain or shine this year! I didn't have a wedding dress when I got married, I think that is why I look at them all!! LOL I am a bit loony!

So much for clearing up today, I have done a total of making beds, opening curtains and erm..... internet shopping..... not bad for a mornings work!! Even the beds and curtains were done before we went to school

NatalieJane · 30/01/2008 11:45

Sorry Diege, when I started writing that your post wasn't there, DH rang, twice , before I had chance to finish it!

£850 for shoEs wouldn't last me very long I'm affraid, it would be gone as quickly as it takes to order these and these and I'd still be in the OD!!

BeMyLilBaby · 30/01/2008 11:53

He he NJ love the jimmy CHoos, if you dont mind me being nosy, what did you wear to your wedding?

Playing im craving BBQ now!! i lurve bbq sausages yum yum
