BeMyLilBaby · 28/01/2008 15:44

largeginandtonic · 28/01/2008 15:45

A FARM i want one of those

We have chickens arriving next week and i have put in a request for a pot bellied pig but dh laughed.

Now Teuch wats going on? Describe to me exactly how you are feeling...

I need a new sofa too, mine has been well and truly trounced by the children. Does your friend have another?

New babies are easy it is the pregnancy that will kill you

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 15:51

TBH, I don't remember the first time DS1 said love you.... just sort of happened I guess! Though I do remember the first time he said Mama, I can't explain how it makes you feel, but it certainly made the first months of (almsot) utter hell well worth it!

DS2 is at a great age at the moment, nearly 14 months, everything he does every day is something new, he has started saying 'ta' over the weekend, and he will pick up anything that even slightly resembles a phone and say 'ello, or 'iya (hello or hiya!) he has a thing about taking his socks off (has done for as long as I can remember) but now when he takes them off, if you say where's your socks, he runs off and gets them Too blardy cute for his own good!

Teuch · 28/01/2008 15:53

aw thanks...truth is I feel very pre-menstrual with tiredness tacked on. Been feeling bit sicky but I can't decide if that is just nerves at thinking about AF being late .

Everything just feels right...physically, timing-wise (silly superstitions) and I can't help feeling that I am jinxing it by even letting myself get to the point I might believe I am

IYSWIM??!!

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 15:54

LG&T, you are going to need a farm to keep the kids in Line them up in the stables, and the cow shed, and the pig sty, I bet they'd love it as well!!!

I want one of the proper pink, curly tailed, oink oinking variety of pigs!! I love their ears

Teuch · 28/01/2008 15:55

oh, and no pigs sadly!!

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 15:56

Everything feels right, because it is right

Can you not get on the ferry and go to the mainland? In fact, better idea, send DH

I don't know how you are holding out!

Teuch · 28/01/2008 15:59

No can do, but I admire your persistence!!!

I had better go and do some work and take my mind off it

Will call back in later.

largeginandtonic · 28/01/2008 15:59

Hmmmm not sure about children saying i love you, mostly i'm grateful they dont say i hate you

They can be very entertaining though, the twins (10 this year) have me in stitches an awful lot recently. A few months ago they got up extra early (very quietly) i hear everuything as their room is next to mine. When i walked in to wake them up they leapt out the wardrobe! I jumped a mile, it was hillarious.

Of course Hugo (3) is being a nightmare today and has been running circles round me all day. I have the upper hand though... i have booked him in to a playschool as of next week

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 16:55

Teuch, keep us all hanging why don't you

LG&T I have just looked at your profile for the first time ever, I had no idea you were so young! and a little

BeMyLilBaby · 28/01/2008 17:06

large G&T where bouts in pompey are you? im there too, near the city centre, in NorthEnd so you can tell me first hand what mat care's like etc... oh and if you have any feed back on what M&T groups are like too .....and i love your childrens names!!!

whats everybody up to this week anyway? x

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 17:13

This week I will mostly be waiting for Thursday to come round (Payday ) and then for Friday so that it is no longer January

Other than that, I have to decide whether I am going to face mums and tots tomorrow, we've got board games (I think ) after school on Wednesday, and at some point I need to get to the hair dressers for a trim and for the boys to have theirs chopped. Not sure what else, oh yeah, forgot the most important thing, MNing

Somewhere in that lot we also have a trip to Tesco looming, a trip to DH's mums (only about an hour away), a trip to the local tip, I need to nip into town to get some new boots, a door handle and some cutlery, bit of an odd shopping list! And I have had a hankering for a McDonalds all week so that will probably happen at some point!

I don't normally do McDonalds, but I cannot stop thinking about a bigmac, fries and choccy milkshake!

BabyBump2B · 28/01/2008 19:05

Morning all! Well you have been busy while I've been hidden away in the snowy mountains!

A big hello to Geordie & G&T!

I laughed out loud about the names thing - we have sorted out how our parental leave is going to work, nursery decorations (sailing theme for a boy in red, white & blue) and sort of a french/Euro theme for a girl with lots of travel icons, eiffle tower, collesium, big ben, etc) and even some names but there is no baby!!! For boys names we're sorted -we like either Cai Rupert Fraser or Keiran Fraser Rupert both work with our last name but girls we're stuck on. I LOVE Esme and dh likes Freya (which I HATE) so not sure what will happen there.

Had a lovely weekend with our "gang" - I was a massive baby hog of the beautiful 2 month old girl who was there which was so nice. She slept on my chest for hours. Only thing I found slightly difficult is the pregnant friend who kept complaining and complaining about being fat and her stomach, etc and I kept say "Well you're supposed to have a belly - there's a baby in there." but there are only so many times you can say that before you want to scream - at least your %^&*ing pregnant! But she's a good friend so I bit my tongue!

Oooooh aren't I chatting this morning - should really go do some work!

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 19:47

Good morning BB2B LOL I don't think I've ever said that 7.42pm before!!

Glad you had a good weekend! You wait till you are pregnant and the moans start creeping in You can't help it when you are pregnant, moans come with the job

Oooo nursery themes... will get my thinking head on and come back to you DS1's was dinasaurs, but cute ones, and DS2's was blue gingham and yellow, looked, infact looks much nicer than it sounds

Esme is a lovely name I like Freya as well, but always reminds of someone on my post-natel thread, she lost her little girl who was called Freya, so it always makes me a bit sad when I hear it now.

Anyway, kids to get to bed, dinner plates to be put in dishwasher, and alcohol to be drunk See you all tomorrow, Teuch, as soon as post arrives I want news OK?!!! G'night all xxx

BeMyLilBaby · 29/01/2008 08:05

morning all!!

BB2B I know what you mean bout hoggin a baby, my goddaughter gets kidnapped when she comes round he he.

I like teddy bear coulours for a baby's room, creams and biege's with a teddy bear border i think, cos its unisex he he but just like you no baby yet!!

Morning geordie,

know what you mean about april being a way-away, ive got bday to distract me luckily I am officially sad, and have already fallen out with DP once over names he he

however we have agreed that Lola will be our first DD's name, and cant really agree on DS's name, I quite like william, but dont like bill. I like jack but he doesnt..arg!

teuch whats going on? we need an update!

Playing did you have a nice weekend? anyone seen cosmo on any threads lately?

xx

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 10:17

Morning laydee's

BB well done for telling your mum, glad she sounds OK about it, must be a weight off your mind Lola and William are lovely names (DS1 was very very nearly William, it just didn't suit him when he was born so Thomas won!)

Geordie, April isn't as far away as May!! Where are you going on your hols? I am with you on the old fashioned names

I have just nipped into town (running away for mums and tots in reality!) why does everyone all of a sudden seem to be pregnant/have a newborn? It is always the same when you have TTC on your mind! I did managed to once again not buy any magazines, which I am feeling quite proud of, though will admit that I looked and all of the stuff on the front cover I already knew about anyway so didn't seem any point getting it!

We will hopefully be moving as well before the baby comes, I bloody hope so, there is no way we could fit another person in here, but it depends on how quickly we can sell it. So I have a few rough ideas on nursery themes but until I know where the nursery is going to be, I won't know for sure!

I suppose I should probably be getting on with housework or something... maybe later

(still waiting for Teuch!)

Teuch · 29/01/2008 10:25

God morning all! Firstly, the post won't get here til about 2.30pm so don't hold your breath!! And it may yet contain zilch!!

Secondly, I have a theory about you ones putting off ttc for overdrafts and getting fit and the like...it goes a little bit like..

JUST GET ON WITH IT!!!!!

I'm impatient!

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 10:32

LOL Teuch, you're impatient???? How do you think the rest of us are waiting for your news?!!!

Because obviously we need to know much more then you

BeMyLilBaby · 29/01/2008 10:35

Ha ha Teuch you are a lady after my own heart, i would but DP would murder me a bit he he i dont mind waiting till apr, im gonna have coil out in march so it might be sooner

NJ it will be nice to move, I lurve william as a name and i like thomas harrisson and george byt DP wants william after his grandad, if we are going that route timothy will be a middle name because that was my daddys name... arg the choices you must make !!

I also like Micha (prounounce Mee-sha) for a girl... oh im mega broody now, I dont think it helps that my job is feast and famine so to speak.. I love it one day, but really hate it the other...

Those of you who went back to work part-time, How did you find it just out of interest? xx

Teuch · 29/01/2008 11:18

I work from home - when I am not procrastinating on MN!!!

It has worked out great for me - I work part-time (flexible, as in I choose) hours for 2 organisations.

Downside - I miss 'colleagues' and going to work, honest! I liked my job though...

And I miss all the add-ons that come with work - nippin to shops at lunch break, gonig for drinks, socials.

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 11:31

Yes, I can't wait to move, we really feel like we are bursting at the seams here.

Have just found http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/miracle/media/2816_qlg_03.html this linked on another thread, I haven't watched it all the way through, but thought some of you might be interested (It has sound BB, so watch out before you click!!)
