Just a thread for any ladies ttc after a miscarriage! Nice to get some support from people going through the same thing. So I had a MMC at ten weeks nearly three weeks ago now. I'm still getting faint positive on tests. My ovulation tests are still all over the place possibly due to the HCG still being in my system. So not totally accurate right now. So I'm currently stuck in limbo land either waiting for ovulation or my period 🤔 any ladies want to join the journey?!?!

@Bellesjp I only got a negative test 4 weeks and 2 days post surgical management and then came on my period the following day. So I didn't ovulate at all that first cycle! I've heard that it's actually fairly common.

LittleMysSister · 17/11/2021 16:53

Got my bloods back today and my HCG is back to pre-pregnancy levels, which is a real relief, but I don't even know where to start with this cycle? No idea where all this would put me, whether I'd be ovulating, whether AF will come as expected or will be later?!

Such a minefield isn't it.

Skl2021 · 17/11/2021 17:11

@LittleMysSister same as me 🤣 just plodding along waiting for something to happen 🤦🙈 x

Hi @PossiblyPertunia I don't think I ovulated my first cycle either. I'm actually nearly 10 weeks after my tfmr though now so really hoping it's not still in my system 😔

PossiblyPertunia · 17/11/2021 19:59

@Bellesjp oh wow definitely should be negative! When was your last positive test? Sorry if you've already explained but have you been rescanned?

Bellesjp · 17/11/2021 20:07

@PossiblyPertunia I had a negative test on cheapies after 5 weeks or so, then I didn't test until last week in TWW and was faintly positive on a frer so I don't know whether that's just picking up a tiny amount of hcg from before or whether it was a chemical pregnancy this month. No I wasn't rescanned, I wasn't offered this from the hospital but I had medical management and they said the placenta looked intact so not sure x

Hhdxx · 18/11/2021 07:08

Hello everyone,
Sorry I've not messaged for a few days, I've been really busy.
I've stopped testing but presuming I'm still pregnant. I've still got cramps though so quite worried.
Hope everyone is ok. Xxx

PossiblyPertunia · 18/11/2021 22:15

@Bellesjp I'm 99% sure it was a chemical (I don't know if that makes things better or worse, sorry!). I've had 3 miscarriages in a row now and currently 9dpo and although I've had twingey ovaries which is a symptom for me, I also had those last month which was the first month we've actively tried and not fallen pregnant (and then miscarried...).

claremc1983 · 20/11/2021 07:19

Hi there. I know it's super early days for me but for those who have experienced a loss. When did you start trying again? I've quite recently had medical management for a MMC. I'm still bleeding so waiting. I'm going to wait for a negative test then start again I think? Thanks xx

Beth262 · 20/11/2021 07:38

@claremc1983 sorry to hear about your mmc, it's so shitty. When I had a mmc with medical management they encouraged me to have a negative test and then wait for one complete cycle before trying again so I'd have an idea of dates. However I had a chemical pregnancy last month and after testing negative 2 weeks ago I'm trying again right away. This is because though I'm 39 and don't feel I have time to wait for stop gap cycles!! 😂
Good luck x

claremc1983 · 20/11/2021 11:37

@Beth262 thanks for your reply. It's so hard...im 38 and will be 39 in January, like you i'm feeling time isn't on my side..I was hoping to wait to test negative then try again. I always find myself obsessing about TTC anyway so his knows how I'll cope after a loss x

Beth262 · 20/11/2021 12:41

@claremc1983 It is hard. Very hard. And i found no one irl tends to talk about it. Ive had mc, mmc and a chemical pregnancy. Don't loose hope though. After my mmc and that first next cycle I went on to conceive my ds who is now 2 years old and ruling the roost! Once you've tested negative and your levels are all back to normal, if you're mentally ready to try again go for it. Sending love x

Hhdxx · 20/11/2021 17:46

Hi ladies,
I know it's not the same but I had a c-section with my daughter who I sadly lost. I was told to wait 3 months before I could start trying again. I was also told if you've given birth naturally, the wait is much shorter. Obviously check with your doctor's first though but hopefully that gives you hope for the wait not been too long and hopefully hormones to go back to normal. I had my first period 5 weeks after having the C section xxx

claremc1983 · 20/11/2021 18:24

@Beth262 when was your last MC if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying not to lose hope. I have a 4 and 2 year old at home, both easy pregnancies. No issues so this just came as a huge shock. Did t expect it to happen to me...how naive x

Skl2021 · 20/11/2021 18:33

@claremc1983 I think if your ready then go for it don't wait. I think the main reason they want u to have a period is so they can't date the pregnancy early but also if your still getting positive tests it would be hard to tell what's old HCG and what's new if u get me. I had a MMC 4 weeks ago now. I was ten weeks pregnant. Haven't had my period yet and still getting faint positives on tests 😩 I'm waiting to try until IV had first period tho and hopefully my tests will be negative again xx

Oh gosh @Hhdxx how absolutely awful for you. I can't begin to imagine how hard that must have been. I honestly don't think I'd be mentally ready after 3 months in that position x

@claremc1983 I had what I believe was a chemical pregnancy around 3 weeks ago. EPU referred to it as a pregnancy of unknown location. I should have been around 7 weeks but just had a small cystic mass that measured around 4 weeks so I guess it just stopped growing again but earlier this time around than previously. They took bloods but my levels were dropping like a stone. Had two negative tests last weekend so all re-set to start trying again. Using opk to try and have some idea of dates rather than wait for AF first x

claremc1983 · 20/11/2021 19:49

@Beth262 thanks for your reply, wishing you all the luck in the world for TTC. How are u feeling about trying again? X

claremc1983 · 20/11/2021 19:51

@Skl2021 thanks for your response. I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. How are you feeling a few weeks on now? I'm very up and down. That makes sense re the negative tests. I'm definitely going to wait till I test negative. X

Skl2021 · 20/11/2021 20:25

@claremc1983 when it happened I thought I wouldn't want to try again. I was also nieve and thought oh it won't happen to me until it does. IV got two kids and didn't have problems in pregnancy. It takes time. I was very up and down but it does get better. Now I'm desperate to start trying again I'm absolutely petrified of it happening again. I'm just waiting around for period now whenever it will arrive. You will know if the times right And things will get brighter ✨💕 xx

@Skl2021 we sound very similar. I still haven't processed it yet I don't think. You just don't think it'll happen to you. It's the not knowing why which I find soo hard. I'm 38 ( 39 in jan) and I know time isn't on my side...x

Skl2021 · 20/11/2021 21:03

@claremc1983 no it will take a while. I don't think I have fully. Some days little things set me off and I can't stop crying but it's getting better slowly. I didn't know anything about miscarriage before going through this or how common it is. Glad there's places like this to talk to people who know what your going through as the aftercare for miscarriage is non existent. Yes I always wonder what if I did something different but you can't think like that it will destroy you. Did it take you long to conceive? It took me 9 months so hoping it's not that long again x

@Beth262 thank you. I know. I wanted to TTC as soon as I could as it took me 18 months to get pregnant with my daughter. This time it took 12 months. I'm just desperate to have children. We've got the nursery ready for when my daughter was born. It hurts so much just having her memory box. I honestly don't know how I've survived the last 15 months but I have. I even had my baby by myself because of stupid COVID. All worst nightmares actually happened. X

claremc1983 · 21/11/2021 08:02

@Hhdxx Gosh I'm so very sorry to hear your story. You are incredibly strong. You will have your beautiful longed for baby in your nursery, I'm sure of it xxxx

Hhdxx · 21/11/2021 12:56

@claremc1983 thank you. I hope so. I just know that I've already had a horrible thing happen and I know if doesn't mean I'll get good things now. X

claremc1983 · 21/11/2021 14:52

@Skl2021 you know it happened our first month of trying. I've found I ovulate quite soon after AF ( my cycle is usually 24-28days). I used to try and time it mid way with previous pregnancies which took us longer. I sort of feel like I was punished for falling so easily on that cycle...stupid I know but all sorts goes through your mind I guess x
