New 2ww thread, have brought over mince pies and mulled wine and put up some fairylights

Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

ohhh, I've had mild distant cramping too mibbes so fingers crossed eh? But my boobs did tingle a bit last month and no joy.

I can't really test until next Thursday unless I want guaranteed disapointment - so hard to be patient when I had the pregnancy tests delivered with my shopping tonight.

They are taunting me.

digitalgirl · 04/01/2008 22:56

bucky i sincerely hope you and dp can work things out, must've been pretty serious for you to be questioning ttc. ((((hugs))))) to you my meet-up buddy

mtw nice to see you back, know what you mean about trying to limit MN/ttc obsessions, however YOUR symptoms sound very promising, I'd be ripping open the hpts if I'd actually been sick (much as I detest vomiting, i think it feels like dying)

My temp climbed up higher today, much higher than it had been last cycle. That plus the different post-ov symptoms I'm experiencing now has pretty much convinced me that I didn't ov at all last cycle. Mildly tender boobs and mild cramping definitely feels like I'm a week away from AF.

fairy I'm definitely a temping convert. I think it just takes patience, no amount of tweaking the temps will force me to ovulate...and when it works it takes all the guessing and stressing out of knowing when AF is due.

So whether I'm 4dpo or 2dpo it's way too early for me to be pg symptom spotting. I'm just so pleased to be on a genuine 2ww!

JollyBear · 04/01/2008 23:01

MTW at weighing your boobs! You are obviously an ample boobed lady like my good self .

I'll be CD 28 on Tuesday so could test then if AF hasn't arrived but as my cycle is often 30 days, if it was a BFN I'd convince myself I'd tested too early... etc etc.

Ahhhhh!

Sandiesx · 05/01/2008 14:33

Hello ladies x Have kept away in the hope that I wouldn't obsess CD 18 now and have a very sore boob - no mistake - just the one Have worked myself into such a state of excitement that I have a headache and feel sick lol
Hope you all had a fab Christmas and New Year. I hope it's our year girls....

LuckyBucky · 05/01/2008 23:07

Hello (.)(.) prodders .

Bucky would like to say that all is once again well in the Bucky household. It was pretty bad for a minute there, but after a few long heart to hearts we seem to have sorted things and feel ALOT better now. Sometimes I guess things happen which throw you out of kilter and make you doubt what you believed to be totally true. Sorry to be so cryptic...basically I was happily trundling along in my little life and then I inadvertantly found out something which dp had kept hidden for literally years, cue big row, cue shouting, cue avoiding each other....eventually when we actually talked properly it was not all that it seemed, so it's ok now. I would however like a less dramatic life...anyone wanna swap? .

Anyway, am now obviously peed off that I missed the egg boat and unless dp has supersperm I will have to wait ANOTHER month...to try again. Anyway, at least I am happy again. Despite missing the hatching, I am joining you in the tit prodding. It seems the dolly parton tits are making an appearance again this month, and as I quite like them now this is a good thing .

LuckyBucky · 05/01/2008 23:19

MOB LH Surge info This says that the LH surge can be 30 hours long...so my theory about testing isn't that far fetched...and this one says that it can last up to three days depending on your cycle...see "how to recognise the LH Surge" three daysSo it seems you are totally normal . It also suggests that if you BD the day you get a you are in with a chance, so I feel a little better too...

07mumstheword · 06/01/2008 14:02

Jollybear I wish I could say I had ample (.)(.) but I have to confess to fried eggs so how I thought I could even get one on the scales is beyond me. lol

Hi DG lets hope the end of your 2ww turns out in a positive way

Bucky What ever it was I'm glad to hear things are better for you now.

I couldn't resist any longer I did a test this morning. I'm only CD22 my cycle was 26 days last month and I'm 10 dpo so I thought maybe perhaps something would show but nothing I think being sick was just a very strange coinsidence as not even felt nausea since. Still testing cd 22 is still early so it ain't over yet.

I'm so due for a BFP disappointment confirmation because we were away for 2 nights over the vital time and one night was our first anniversary and I'd convinced myself of a romantic conception instead of a clinical one Plus the thought of heading into cycle 10 is really depressing me.

PicknMix · 06/01/2008 18:16

Hello all

How are we all doing today?

mtw sorry to hear about the bfn, but as you say it is early days for you.

Sorry haven't been around much, had the funeral of my friends dad on Friday - over 500 people came was a truely lovely 'send off' for him and very emotional but my friend seems to be coping very well at the moment. I'm sure there will plenty more difficult times ahead for her but she is very strong.

After mine and DH's argument we only managed to bd once at the crucial time and that was about 2 days early but am holding out hope that DH has super sperm this month (just like you bucky!)! It was this time last year that I had my mc so have mixed feelings at the mo.

DG YAY for ov this month!! Have everything crossed for you (please remind me - do you have appts this month with specialists? I apologise that I don't remember).

Have just read another thread about a mnetter who is accidentally pregnant, wont go into details as don't want to speculate on her circumstances but am concerned as she wrote that her DH earns 35k a yr but they can't afford another baby. We earn nowhere near that much - am now worried cos think maybe we are being dillusional about whether we can afford to have a baby.....

Sandiesx · 06/01/2008 18:58

I read that picknmix - all problems are relative I guess. Trust me when I say you can never afford a baby if you think about it too deeply. Things have a way of just working out and those sleepless nights, poopy nappies and persistant baby sick smell are truely worth being skint for. Maybe I didn't put that quite tight but you know what I mean...

07mumstheword · 06/01/2008 20:37

Hi PickNmix Sorry to hear your friends sad news, what a fantastic turn out for the funeral he must have been a wonderful man. I'm glad things are better for you and DH lets hope the super sperm works its magic

Well I've just ordered two books "Take charge of your fertility" and "sex by numbers" I'm hoping one will sort out the health and the other will keep DH and I interested in the constant bd'ing - well we are headed towards cycle 10 I'm really hoping sods law will kick in and a BFP will arrive next week along with the books then I'd be telling DH to "get off"

hattyyellow · 06/01/2008 20:37

psst, 'tis me cbcb..got bored of being named after my childhood cat and have renamed myself after my girls Christmas dolls...they got given two and named them Hatty and Yellow

sorry to hear about all the falling out, glad to hear things a bit more on track.

you can easily afford a baby on £35k! i think you live according to your means...one couple's essentials are another's luxuries..

not much news from me..on day 17 i think and have been bding like mad..assuming I'm not pg just to not get hopes up and dashed again..so have still been having a glass of wine with dinner etc..

good luck to everyone xx

07mumstheword · 06/01/2008 20:43

Ooh yeah forgot to say about the £35k thing. If everybody planned a baby around finances the human race would become extinct!

My newphew and his girlfriend had a baby in December and they are skint having left Uni she is waiting to return to her studies (unplanned pregnancy that hurts a little) and he is working every hour to earn a pittance to pay for all he can but they'll cope.

hidingbehindthesofa · 06/01/2008 21:40

hello all,
have not posted for a while - been lurking and on holiday as well, but wanted to let you know that we came up BFP on new years day. hurray!!
symptoms were (TMI alert): lots of CM post ov and increasingly sore nips. also, pretty bad cramps. BFN 10 days post ov and then tested again on day AF was due. dont know when we are due and looking forward to making an appt at the GP this week.

wishing everyone a good week and lots of baby dust all round..

MrsEi25 · 07/01/2008 02:13

hi girls jus poppin in to say im officially LATE!! was due yesterday or today and i am regular as clockwork usually heres hoping...
CONGRATS to hiding on your BFP
good luck to everyone who is testin soon and fingers crossed for me too if thats ok!!
xx ei xx

JollyBear · 07/01/2008 10:12

Morning all,

Congrats Hiding what a great start to 2008 for you.

MrsEi25 Good luck to you and well done for waiting till today! Are you testing this morning?

Bucky Glad you are OK. Hope your DP's supersperm holds out! You too PicknMix! Hope your friend is OK.

DG Happy to hear you got an egg this month cycle buddy!

I have more 'symptoms', TMI alert - lots of CM (loads!) and mild AFish cramps. Obviously I'm getting my hopes up BUT the sensible side of my brain says that the increased CM could be because I'm drinking loads more water than normal and the AFish cramps could be.... because AF is on her way!! Oh well! I think I'll test tomorrow CD28 - not too early but not really late either, that's if the TEW doesn't get me first.

digitalgirl · 07/01/2008 12:45

congrats hiding - interesting that you got a BFN at 10dpo. What dpo was your BFP?

good luck mrsei have you tested yet?

don't really have any symptoms at the mo. FF reckons not to test till saturday 19th...that's aaaaaaaaaages.

OP posts:
mibbes · 07/01/2008 14:01

Congrats Hiding lovely news !

MrsEi25 and JollyBear - Good luck testing - fingers crossed for you both

No af here and af cramps have gone so no idea what is going on . Just want to get on with next cycle now.

madoldbird · 07/01/2008 15:50

Good afternoon everyone

First of all hiding congratulations on your news!!

Bucky so glad to hear that things are much better with DP now. That's really good news. Hopefully some "supersperm" will have hung around, but the important thing is that the two of you are ok again. Thank you so much for that info - really interesting, and it hopefully means that i am not completely abnormal!!! Interesting info about timing etc. Oh, and meant to say the other day - love the idea of a name change to "MOET" in a few weeks!!!!

07mtw sorry you had a BFN. Maybe just testing too early? Still hope for a romantic conception!

picknmix sorry to hear about your friends dad. Sounds like a wonderful (that's not the right word in this context but hope you know what i mean) funeral. Hope your DH is in possession of supersperm too!!! (Or rather, that you are now in possession of his supersperm!!

jollybear symptoms are sounding good!

hattyyellow - hello! Like the new name!

mibbles hope your AF turns up soon, or you get a BFP of course!

ei any news yet??!!

dg hope we can all keep you entertained so time passes quickly until the 19th!!

Well, i was a bit down over the weekend, as AF turned up on Saturday, on CD 31. Mentioned it in the "waiting room" just to put myself at the top of the list again, but couldn't face "talking" about it on here until today. DH gutted as well, and i'm afraid to say the diet went out the window, and i also drowned my sorrows. A lot. Keep panicking that i am just old and past it. Feeeling bit better today, and really think that sorting my diet and weight out could really help. Can't bear to actual write how much i weigh, but have a BMI of 29, which is NOT GOOD. Going to cut out alcohol totally for a bit, as i read that even a bit can halve fertility. (We'll see how long that lasts!!!) Am seeing my nutritionalist again tomorrow so i'll see what she says. Anyway, as someone else said the other day - here's to an October baby!!

hidingbehindthesofa · 07/01/2008 22:17

thanks for all your messages ladies.
madoldbird, how old are you? if thats not too rude a question?

jollybear, you sound just how i felt last week. fingers crossed for you tomorrow.
digitalgirl, i got my BFP 14dpo.
still can't quite believe it. must make doctors appt.

ScaryHairy · 07/01/2008 22:56

Well done Hidingbehindthesofa

Sorry about TEW MOB

Any news Ei?

I've been messing about with fertility friend trying to figure out why my temps stay low for a couple of days after my positive OPK. I think it is just the way I am made but time will tell! Here's hoping for a nice high progesterone temp tomorrow morning then I can embark on my wait properly.

JollyBear · 08/01/2008 09:00

Morning all,

BFN for me this morning

No AF yet but I'm sure it is only a matter of time.

I talked to DH this morn and we've decided to try OPKs next cycle so fingers crossed for an October baby! It is odd how making a decision to do something proactive can make you feel more positive.

Hope everyone else is OK.

digitalgirl · 08/01/2008 09:28

Sorry bout the BFN Jollybear glad you've made a productive decision for next cycle. Knowing exactly when you've ovulated means you can wait till you're definitely late before testing. Saves on those depressing BFNs.

Well I've actually gone backwards in the two week wait . Yesterday I was 7 dpo, today I am 5dpo. I put my temp into fertility friend this morning and it re-calculated my ov at CD23 instead of CD20. (so glad we kept on bding, phew!) Now it's telling me to wait until CD42 (21st Jan) to test.

MOB now you've got even longer to keep me entertained!

I'm wondering how much my high temperatures have to do with the annoying cough i've got that keeps me up all night...

fellow tempers fairy and scary have you guys had your temp rise yet?

OP posts:
mibbes · 08/01/2008 10:40

dg (or anyone who knows about temping).
I have been practising for next cycle as plan to chart temps - had a temp of 36.6 cd27. However it has dropped the last few days (cd28-30) to 36.4 which I thought meant af was due but still no sign atall (am on cd30). I am very confused as am pretty convinced did not ovulate this cycle so didn't neccessarliy expect temps to have risen... My query is that I read that BBT pre-ov should be between 36.6-36.8 then the rise should come post-ov. However it looks like my temps are below this threshold... does anyone have any experience of this ?
I plan visit to GP after a temping cycle anyway so will mention it then but just wondered what your experiences of temps are..?

mibbes · 08/01/2008 10:43

Jollybear sorry to hear BFN - how late are you ? you know what they say..it's not over until the fat red lady sings...

digitalgirl · 08/01/2008 11:06

mibbes, every woman has a different range of BBT. Mine are between 35.9 and 36.5 pre-ov and between 36.5 and 36.8 post ov.

I think if you're below 35.5 then you might have an under active thyroid and if you're above 37.5 then you might have an over-active thyroid.

you can't really tell day to day what each little rise and fall means until you've done a whole cycle or even two cycles. Then you'll know whether a drop in two-tenths is significant or just part of your natural post-ov range.
