My dd is 11 months old and we have decided that now is the time for number 2! My daughter took 18 months to conceive with a mmc in between, so I'm expecting a long journey. This is my first month and I'm on cd4.

Nah it’s definitely not implantation 😂 never mind! Maybe this means I’ll get my 28 day cycles back. Also means we get to TTC a bit sooner than I thought, yay 😀

Goodgoodthings · 28/08/2021 15:31

@PartyPotato AF started for me today as well, glad to be at the start of a new cycle and now be officially TTC. Mine was 36 days this time around though so still pretty long 🥴

PartyPotato · 28/08/2021 15:35

@Goodgoodthings on to new cycles for us then! But I have my 2nd jab on Tuesday which might delay ovulation like the 1st one did 😩 argh

Goodgoodthings · 28/08/2021 17:14

@PartyPotato for me the first jab gave me a ridiculous cycle of 17 days so I was worried about the second which I had this past cycle but it actually was okay, pretty sure I ovulated on cd21 which is normal for me. Fingers crossed it works out ok for you!

PartyPotato · 28/08/2021 17:57

@Goodgoodthings ah that’s alright then! Hopefully won’t have a repeat this time.

Hullabaloowho · 28/08/2021 18:30

I hadn't thought about the impact of the vaccine on cycle length but that might explain why mine have been so variable then. I had the second Jab in march so not much said about it by that point.

CBB2021 · 28/08/2021 19:42

@PartyPotato yes it definitely delayed ovulation for me too! Due my second jab soon and don’t know how to time it?! They say the immune response can effect the lining of the womb so wouldnt like to wait until after ovulation either! But want it before falling pregnant! As if TTC wasn’t hard enough as it is!

whatsthecraic91 · 28/08/2021 22:15

Yay for new cycles! CD 9 here.

My first vaccine delayed ovulation by 7 days!! My second one didn't affect things

PartyPotato · 28/08/2021 23:03

@CBB2021 my first jab was after period but before ovulation. And my second one WAS meant to be before period so I thought ok great I might be able to avoid what happened last time. But now AF has come early im back in the same situation 😩
I’ll just DTD constantly to be on the safe side 😂

BrushMySmush · 28/08/2021 23:04

We have just started trying for our second...it’s taken me 4 years to get the courage to be pregnant again but I’m closer to 40 than 30 now so really need to get my arse in gear.

Period due in 11 days and only DTD twice during ovulation based on Flo app so we’ll see 😂

Still having a few drinks too, totally different from when we tried for our first 🙈

Chanel05 · 29/08/2021 08:11

I have ordered my trusty Amazon cheapies as I realised I only had a few left in my medical box from last time. I only have 7 left and I'm on cd12, thinking I'll ovulate on cd15. They aren't due to arrive until Tuesday (cd14), how should I split them between now and then? As in, how many today, tomorrow etc? Or should I just pop to Boots and spend a fortune on clear blue digital?

wegoagain · 29/08/2021 09:39

Those of you using clear blue digital, how many flashing smileys do you usually get before your static? Are you at your most fertile the couple of days after the static? I get so confused with OPKs! I'm on day 3 of flashing but think I will save DTD tonight as don't want to be too knackered for peak but also worried if we don't I will miss our chance!! Confused

whatsthecraic91 · 29/08/2021 14:29

@Chanel05 I would say spend a fortune on CB ones 😂 because I could never get a positive on a cheaply! Never worked for me. CB digitals are fab!! So is temping, gonna start again in the morning as I keep forgetting to!

@BrushMySmush same I'm so relaxed this time but it's only cycle 1 😅 I had fancy supplements last time & this time I'm eating crap, drinking etc 😂 I am taking folic acid though 🤞🏼

@PartyPotato im sure you're OH won't say no to that 😂

@wegoagain sometimes I got up to 6 flashing!! But usually around 3/4

Tillyturtle · 29/08/2021 14:42

I am nearly 40 and ttc for last 18 months. Had about 3 misc and chem pregnancies. Though I do feel last one was triggered by a rough trans vaginal. Anyway I am 3 days late for AF and I have done several preg tests. FR is showing negative though I did feel and one point I could see a line. I did a clear blue and can see a clear but feint positive. Waited two days and did a FR and I can't see anything. Iv had cramping and tingly boobs ant times. I feel like I'm going mad :(

Indianna2006 · 29/08/2021 21:43

@wegoagain I started the clearblue opks this month. Started bit late tho on CD 10. And I got two blanks. An only one flashing. And then static.

So.. we dtd on flashy day, and day of static. And then the second day of static too. So we should of covered peak fertile days..

Indianna2006 · 29/08/2021 21:45

@wegoagain from reading the site it suggests flashing means you are fertile. Chance of pregnancy. So have sex if you can but don’t knacker yourself.
An the day of your first static is the first day of your 2 peak days. So have sex that day and day after for sure. An then likelihood after that your chance is out. But keep having sex if you want to anyway.

Normally we’re knackered an then need a break lol

SunnySideUp2020 · 30/08/2021 06:46

Hi everyone!

I am not actively ttc 2 but not preventing...
DD is 4.5 months.
It took us all in all 9 months to have a successful pregnancy first time!

My question is, i am exclusively breastfeeding every 3 hours at least day and night (4 months sleep regression yayy 😅)
But had my periods return end of July!
Since then been tracking ovulation with opk but no luck... they are always kinda high but never positive.

Anyone having similar issues here?
I had regular cycles before...

whatsthecraic91 · 30/08/2021 09:25

@SunnySideUp2020 I never got on with cheapy OPKs. Have you tried temping? It's the best way to know for sure that you've ovulated

SunnySideUp2020 · 30/08/2021 09:31

@whatsthecraic91

The issue is i dont really sleep properly so i am worried temping won't be accurate...
But can try!

whatsthecraic91 · 30/08/2021 09:48

@SunnySideUp2020 I think as long as you have 3 hours and try and take it around the same time everyday you should be fine! I randomly wake up around 4am most mornings so I take it then. Mostly fall asleep with it in my mouth 😂 luckily mine stores it and sends to my phone

GreenFlipFlop · 31/08/2021 14:46

Hi guys! I'm not feeling too hopeful this month.. Period is due in 5 days and I've not had any symptoms or felt any implantation twinges which I'm sure I felt with my first! My friend has twins and said she had 0 symptoms till 2 week after her period was due, so still slightly hopeful! I might try some OPKs next month too if no luck this month though just to check!

@caz198917 Hopefully implantation bleeding! Good luck!!

How's everyone else doing?

Chanel05 · 31/08/2021 15:03

@GreenFlipFlop you never know! I had no symptoms for ages with my daughter so you definitely aren't out.

I'm meant to be ovulating tomorrow or Thursday and I've had the faintest opks! Wondering if I've missed it!

OP posts:
Goodgoodthings · 31/08/2021 15:07

@GreenFlipFlop keeping my fingers crossed for you! With my first I had no symptoms in the early days either so you never know. Keep us posted!

AF came for me on Sat so currently CD4 and looking forward to getting started officially. Pretty long cycle still but shorter than I used to have before my first. I just found out my SIL is pregnant and my initial reaction (after of course being very happy to have another niece/nephew) should we put the breaks on but I think that was me being silly because it's likely to take a while for us. Thoughts on this very welcome!

Hope everyone's feeling good.

Hullabaloowho · 31/08/2021 15:41

@Goodgoodthings personally I wouldn't base my choice to TTC or not on where anyone else is in their journey. Everyone's pregnancy is so individual and nothing is guaranteed, what is going on in your life doesn't change or negate anyone else's big life moments. I say this as someone who was really relieved to still be included in close friends' baby showers and christenings at a time of baby loss for us. My brother also announced a very unexpected pregnancy with a partner he later split up with just as we approached 12 weeks and prepared to announce our news to wider family and it didn't change anything for us.

Goodgoodthings · 31/08/2021 15:58

Thanks @Hullabaloowho, I know you're right and think it was that initial reaction to protect myself in a way from potentially having a difficult time and living through that in parallel to someone's pregnancy if that makes sense? So good to hear your perspective and your experiences, thank you for sharing 💜
