My dd is 11 months old and we have decided that now is the time for number 2! My daughter took 18 months to conceive with a mmc in between, so I'm expecting a long journey. This is my first month and I'm on cd4.

@CShandy01 ah I’m sorry to hear this. With DD I had a CP 1st and 2nd months of TTC, 3rd month I got my BFP. I used Pregnacare all three cycles and also this time around. Currently on 1st cycle of TTC #2. AF due tomorrow, had some spotting once yesterday morning and nothing since. FRER was a BFN this morning so expecting AF tomorrow. I’m sorry about your CP but hopefully you’ll be more fertile for your next cycle x

Goodgoodthings · 05/11/2021 19:25

@CShandy01 I'm so sorry to hear your news, I hope you have a restful weekend and have your DH and DD around you, that sounds really hard.

I don't have much in the way of advice but just wanted to say sometimes it's best not to overthink these things because I guess there's no real way of knowing. TTC#1 I drove myself mad picking apart everything I was doing, always assuming the worst and telling myself it would never happen and it just added so much pressure on and I was so unhappy.

Goodgoodthings · 05/11/2021 19:30

@wegoagain thanks so much for sharing, that's really good to know in case I need to consider that if I do have an issue going forward.

@GreenFlipFlop thinking positive thoughts for you too! Not long now to wait. I only used OPKs 3 days this cycle just to confirm ovulation when I noticed EWCM but we didn't really try because of illness, I just did them to make sure I was right really. This next cycle I'll use them again but hopefully not become too obsessive again 🙈

Chanel05 · 05/11/2021 19:34

@CShandy01 so sorry to youThanks.

I'm 9dpo and I was stupid and did a test this morning which was of course a bfn. I know for a fact it won't happen now this month so onto cycle three... in about a week 🤦‍♀️.

So sorry to hear about your CP @CShandy01 Thanks

Regarding pregnacare, It's such a tricky thing thinking about what you are or aren't doing each month, I think it comes down to a bit of a lottery really, it's like rolling a dice each month, some are lucky enough to get a 6 first time and everyone else gets all the other variations whatever that might mean, I think with something like vitamins it's good to think that you've been taking the folic acid and anything else that might support your early pregnancy, I've not been in your position but I think I'd keep taking them.

I think I'm just out of my fertile window, we managed to dtd the last 3 days so fingers crossed thats a decent go for this month, I bought a ferti-lily cup this time and have used that each time, so will be interested to see if that speeds anything up, it's like a little silicon cup, like a mini moon cup with a tail on that holds the good stuff up there for longer hahah 🤞🏻

wegoagain · 05/11/2021 22:50

@cshandy01 sorry to hear this Flowers

@mim21 never heard of these before but will be researching. I always feel like (sorry tmi) I lose too much after dtd that it's no wonder I never get pregnant! Desperately trying to hold off until Thursday before testing as AF should have showed up by then anyway.

GreenFlipFlop · 06/11/2021 00:36

@CShandy01 I'm so sorry 😔💕 I think it's just one of those things, I don't think the pregnacare would have had a negative effect. I haven't been taking anything except for folic acid but I would definitely keep taking the pregnacare, it can't hurt! I took it TTC for DS! Hoping for a positive next cycle for you xx

@goodgoodthings having the tests are so handy! I bought 30 cheapy ones from eBay and started testing about 7 days after my CP bleed ended. Noticed EWCM after a while and had a positive ovulation test..but then had a couple of negatives and then loads of positives, so I'm not sure if it was just my hormones going haywire 🤷🏾‍♀️ I keep reading old threads on here about people getting continuous positives OPKs and then turning out they're pregnant, but I've taken a test (no idea what dpo I am) and it's negative so who knows!

Mim21 · 06/11/2021 12:23

@wegoagain my luteal phase is shorter than pre baby though tends to be about 12 days, i read last month that omega 3 might help so i'm now taking them this month to see if it makes a difference, they're good for me either way so win win! Yeah that cup thing was like £30, so not cheap but worth it if it works 🤷🏻‍♀️ can use for upto 6 cycles, also tmi but i feel like my cervix has shifted slightly since i had my son so i feel like it helps with that a bit, i feel like its nof as direct a route as last time 🤣, the things i have time to think about ey!

MrsR87 · 06/11/2021 16:56

I’ve been back at work this week so it’s been mad but here’s a little update. AF paid her visit on Weds so that’s that for this month. It was only the first cycle since coming back of the pill though so I wasn’t really expecting anything. I wasn’t expecting how disappointed I feel though!

Moonshine160 · 06/11/2021 17:08

Sorry to hear that @CShandy01 Flowers

CShandy01 · 06/11/2021 17:14

Thanks everyone for your wonderful messages. DH bought me some flowers yesterday and we went for a lovely breakfast. DD has been a good distraction, but equally it made me realise more how lucky I am to have her. She's such a wonderful soul. My friend also said something lovely to me - "there is a baby waiting somewhere for you to be their mummy, and when the time is right, that baby will come to you." Thought I'd share that here as it really was quite touching.

So after a bit of a chat with DH I've decided to go back on the pregnacare (but the boots cheaper option 😂😂) and I did a bit of meditation today. Really really helped just calm everything down. It's my birthday on Tuesday and I've also planned to get my hair done and treat myself a bit, so I think that'll be a nice pick me up too 🙂🙂 xxx

MrsR87 · 06/11/2021 17:18

So sorry to hear your news @CShandy01

Glad to hear you have some pick me ups planned. You certainly deserve them x

Moonshine160 · 07/11/2021 09:01

How is everyone doing? I reached my “peak” on a Clearblue test yesterday along with a positive cheap OPK. I don’t think I’ll buy the Clearblue tests again tbh - they don’t tell me anything that the cheap strips can’t tell me!
I’ve tested this morning an a cheapy is still a bold positive so not really sure how long to keep DTD for, sometimes my positive tests last 3 days, not sure if this is normal?!

Anyone else ttc #2?
wegoagain · 07/11/2021 19:48

@moonshine160 I get so confused when it comes to OPKs, ovulation and when to do the deed! I tend to do 4-5 days in a row once I get peak and hope that covers it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Spotting has begun so that is me out for another month! At least DS won't need to share his birthday. Two cycles left for it to happen in 2021, I am really hoping it happens for us this year!

Mim21 · 07/11/2021 19:53

Hi @Moonshine160 i'm of the understanding that from your LH peak, ovulation tends to be 12-36 hours later, so once I start to see my LH rise significantly (i test on cheapies) I do at least 2 a day to see if it's getting darker or lighter, i found it helps to not have too watered down urine if you're testing a couple times a day otherwise it messes the results slightly, I put mine into the premom app so it charts when the darkest line/peak was and it helps me see the pattern of it month to month. So it might be a bit late the first month once you work out when your peak was bit if youve been dtd while the tests are positive and a little bit after then you'll be covered, but there'll probably be a pattern in your own, some people have shorter quicker rises in LH and some have longer ones i think!

Moonshine160 · 07/11/2021 20:25

@wegoagain sorry to hear that but everything crossed for next cycle!

@Mim21 thank you! So if I got my peak on the Clearblue yesterday afternoon then should I ovulate 12-36 hours from that first positive test? Had a definite positive again this morning but from this afternoon onwards the test line isn’t as bold so I assume the peak has been and gone now. X

Mim21 · 07/11/2021 21:22

@wegoagain sorry to hear about the spotting, sending positive vibes for the next cycle ✨

@Moonshine160 I think so! That's how i've understood it but i'm no scientist and still TTC 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 that's my disclaimer

GreenFlipFlop · 08/11/2021 11:58

Guys I'm so baffled this month. I took OPK's most of this month as I wasn't sure when I was ovulating after the chemical pregnancy. I got a positive OPK so DTD but was negative the next day. About 5 days later or so I had about 5 positives in a row so DTD again over a few days, but still kept getting positives so eventually stopped. Took an OPK 2 days ago and got a blazing positive stronger than the test line but my period is due in 4 days I think? Have taken cheapy pregnancy tests but negative. I'm driving myself a bit mad - could it be a sign of early pregnancy? But would it detect it before a pregnancy test?

  1. Is when I thought I had my second positive but they were all positive afterwards so I eventually stopped
  2. Is the OPK I randomly decided to take 2 days ago that was blazing positive!

You can probably tell I've obsessed about this for the past couple of days 🙈 any thoughts?

Chanel05 · 08/11/2021 15:32

@GreenFlipFlop what pregnancy tests have you taken? Digital, FRER or cheapie?

OP posts:
GreenFlipFlop · 08/11/2021 15:43

@Chanel05 I've taken a cheapie! I'm a bit nervous about doing a digital or FRER! AF is due on the 12th

Goodgoodthings · 08/11/2021 17:44

@GreenFlipFlop I haven't got any answers but keeping everything crossed for you! I've read about people getting positive OPKs before a BFP, but also know that CP can throw things off. How are you feeling in yourself? It's such a stress all the waiting!

Chanel05 · 08/11/2021 19:42

@GreenFlipFlop keeping everything crossed but it sounds promising! Bite the bullet.

OP posts:
GreenFlipFlop · 08/11/2021 20:24

@Goodgoodthings @Chanel05 Thank you! Took another OPK this evening and it's still positive 😂 so weird! Negative preg test this morning though! Think I'm going to just leave it till weds or Thurs and test then! I've read loads of threads about people getting positive OPKs before a BFP and I feel it's giving me hope but I'm scared AF will come or of having another chemical 😔 my boobs are tender which is unusual (didn't have that with DS) and I feel generally a bit bloated, but I think I might be reading into things!

Goodgoodthings · 08/11/2021 20:32

@GreenFlipFlop all sounds promising to me, maybe skip a day and test with fmu. How many dpo do you think you could be? You're due some good news lovely! Really hoping you get some.
