Hi there.. I'm 18 and have been with my boyfriend for a few months... We had unprotected sex (please don't say anything unkind because it won't help me) on day 19 of my usual 30 day cycle (I use an app to track this)... I'm due on my period in 10 days and am wondering if any of you have any advice as to whether I could be pregnant and if anyone has anything that could prevent pregnancy that isn't the morning after... Please 🙏

@ineedaholidaynow honestly, just stop replying to the thread... You're just a bitter little person and what you're saying is worth nothing.

@JEdgarHoover thank you! Xx

@DemBonesDemBones I am adopted, my birth parents might have thought I was a blessing early on, but obviously didn't later on. How many men leave because babies are not a blessing. Just being realistic. Thinking a baby is a blessing without also thinking about the realities of life is very naive

@ineedaholidaynow and I'm positive you have been a blessing to your parents. I don't know how what you've written supports your stance.

wbgahw1 · 22/08/2021 15:18

Congratulations!!! This is so nice to hear. Are you excited about the viewing for the apartment? X

tonijane17 · 22/08/2021 15:19

@wbgahw1 thank you! I really am exited, it's a big step but we have to do this to prepare our own life for the baby 😊x

And I'm not bitter. But this is someone who has been in a relationship for 2 months and who was trying to work out how to stop a pregnancy less than 2 weeks ago.

SpaceBethSmith · 22/08/2021 15:20

OP consider yourself reporter for that comment.

That's amazing!! I would suggest writing a list of things your need for the home and for the baby, basics like kettle, cutlery, plates, ect! X

SpaceBethSmith · 22/08/2021 15:21

Your teenager is showing.

tonijane17 · 22/08/2021 15:22

@ineedaholidaynow Consider yourself the same x

Okay, so it could all go pear shaped, but that doesn't mean that the OP will suddenly resent her child or the father.
I was actively trying not to have a baby when I fell pregnant. Lots of things went wrong, lost my job, got into a boat load debt and honestly, having a child made thing it much harder. Still consider my child a blessing.

SpaceBethSmith · 22/08/2021 15:23

Imagine this on AIBU

My 18YO is pregnant - she’s been with the father for 2 month.

The replies would be very different.

tonijane17 · 22/08/2021 15:23

@SpaceBethSmith Oh really, is that because I happen to be a teenager? Or perhaps because I'm getting s**t thrown my way for being happy about my pregnancy?

OP posts:
SpaceBethSmith · 22/08/2021 15:24

It’s because you’re a teenager and because you’re reacting badly to the very real and good advice you’re being given.

Squicknick · 22/08/2021 15:24

Congratulations OP, that's lovely news! IMO, every baby and all life is a blessing. That doesn't mean it will be a picnic, children always bring challenges but so much joy too. I wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy and beyond.

DemBonesDemBones · 22/08/2021 15:25

@SpaceBethSmith The op is certainly behaving with more grace and maturity than you are, and I'm assuming you're a bit older?

tonijane17 · 22/08/2021 15:25

I'm not reacting badly to "advice" - what I've been receiving is not advice.

If you’re fertile and you have unprotected sex you could be pregnant.

randomusernameagain · 22/08/2021 15:26

I think any posters berating the OP are making misjudged and misguided comments. The OP has decided she will raise her baby with their father, I don't know what good berating an 18 year old who has come on here to ask for some semblance of maternal advice. OP, your next steps need to be to get your ducks in a row so you are prepared to raise your baby properly with as best a chance it can have. Wishing you the best.

tonijane17 · 22/08/2021 15:27

@SamVimes6 I am pregnant x

@randomusernameagain That is the plan, have to get everything sorted ❤️
