Hello,
I couldn't see a thread for ladies trying for baby no 2, so I thought I'd start one.
I'm nearing the end of cycle 3, 12DPO today, AF due on Wednesday. Having all sorts of symptoms that I don't usually get.
My first LO turned 2 a couple of months ago.
Look forward to hearing others' stories 😊

Thank you @coles85
We will just wait and see now!

Hi @SLT90
It sounds like your cycles are trying to regulate themselves, which is good! Yes, I'm glad I used the opks now, I was trying to be cool and casual about it but I think I need to keep using them as I've ovulated more then a week earlier then last month and I would never have known!
My af didn't return till DD was nearly 16 months old! The last 3 cycles have been between 36/38 days so pretty long.

Thank you @MamaSJ15
I hope work hasn't been stressful for you this week?

@darcey87 thank you.
When my cycles were 28 days, I used to ovulate not long after af finished too.
I've been using the Ovia app to track things, I've found it useful to use as a visual and its been fairly accurate in terms of cycle length but sometimes it doesn't make sense at all , or it doesn't adjust.

MamaSJ15 · 04/08/2021 20:49

@ItsSunnyOutside thank you, it's not as stressful as last week thankfully, still very busy though. And my DD is better now too so that helps with the stress levels 😂

I agree with the Ovia app, I thought at first it was good because it's easy to see the cycle and things, but I found it wasnt very accurate and would change the fertile window with the slightest symptom you entered. I'm very proud of the fact that I haven't been on the app at all this cycle! My relaxed cycle is going well I think!

@ItsSunnyOutside
So glad I've used the OPKs this cycle - I'm CD14 today and nearly forgot to test today have had lows all week and not due on fertile week until next week according to all my app predictions so had been quite laid back. Did my test tonight and got a high result, possibly peak but will see!! Couldn't believe it, so had to rush and DTD 🤣🤣 we've managed to cover CD9, 11 and 14 so will have to try and DTD tomorrow and maybe the next day depending on OPKs. Nearly missed our chance! At least that may mean a 28/29 day cycle this time, which would be just like pre-pregnancy.

coles85 · 05/08/2021 13:18

@SLT90 that's great it looks like you caught it in time and that your cycle is returning to normal!

@MamaSJ15 I'm 36, and my DC is 26 months.

Welcome @EJLM! Sorry to hear about your suspected chemical, wishing you all the luck this time round!

Hello all!

Glad you caught your peak @SLT90 that's lucky!

Same re: Ovia, but I'm still using it 😬 used to use Clue and I felt that was more realistic but it did something to offend me and I don't think it has a TTC function.

I know you're meant to be optimistic about these things but I am feeling quite pessimistic this cycle. Could just be the gloomy period hormones!

MamaSJ15 · 05/08/2021 19:36

@darcey87 if you don't mind me asking, what did it do to offend you?
I think all apps will probably be quite similar in those terms so I'm generally trying to stay away for a bit, for my sanity 😂
How long till AF?

OP posts:
darcey87 · 05/08/2021 20:25

I think it was something to do with use of data? Although I suspect they all do things that would offend me with our data! Just took against Clue about it 🤷‍♀️

I'm on CD4! So really I should be feeling less gloomy, hormone-wise. Fingers crossed for this cycle! I was planning to avoid alcohol in the TWW this time (I didn't have much last cycle but maybe it made a difference?) but I'm going to be on holiday with family so it's going to be really obvious 😭

MamaSJ15 · 05/08/2021 20:38

@darcey87 ahh right okay, that makes sense!
I guess it's always a bit gloomy when you're on AF, it's not exactly pleasant!
I find it difficult to relate when it comes to drinking alcohol because I'm not a drinker and everyone who knows me knows I don't drink. So, to me, I think 'just tell them you don't fancy drinking' but then when I think about it, if they're used to you drinking then they will be suspicious 😂 not much use am I?!

SLT90 · 06/08/2021 08:49

@darcey87 I tested again yesterday evening and I actually think yesterday was my peak as I got a much stronger test line than control line. DTD last night so hopefully that enough 😆 DH thinks he's died and gone to heaven 🤣🤣

How's everyone doing today?

MamaSJ15 · 06/08/2021 13:29

@slt90 feeling good today, how are you doing?
Less than a week till AF is due now so not too long to wait for me 😊

OP posts:
SLT90 · 06/08/2021 13:49

@MamaSJ15 are you waiting to see if AF shows up before testing? Hope your week flies by! How are you feeling?

I'm all good, I think I'm starting my TWW round about now. Luckily that now means my trip away with my friend can keep me occupied from symptom spotting instead of getting in the way of ovulation! 🙈

Stuck inside on a rainy day with a 1 year old who has a cold, trying to keep him occupied definitely helps keep my mind off it all!!

coles85 · 06/08/2021 13:59

@MamaSJ15 ooh not long to wait now! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you!

@SLT90 what a nightmare, being stuck indoors when they're feeling a bit under the weather is a tough slog! Hope you're little one is feeling better soon and your day goes quickly!

SLT90 · 06/08/2021 14:37

@coles85 thanks, would just love to even get him out for a walk but it is pouring! Only 2 hours until his dad finishes work 🥳

coles85 · 06/08/2021 16:22

@SLT90 and you'll be waiting to hand home over for some daddy time I'm sure haha! I'll be the same come 5:30!

Also just noticed my terrible grammar in my last post - argh - I meant your not you're Confused

CrackingTheWhip · 06/08/2021 16:41

Just dropping in as it’s been a little while!

I tested yesterday but it was a very clear negative so I’m not holding out much hope. I’ve had a few sharp twinges today, had a couple of bits of spotting last week around Tuesday or Wednesday. The SS from Ovia says two more days until I can test but as I don’t know when I ovulated exactly I don’t know how accurate it is this month. If I end up on a new cycle I might try the ovulation stick things but I don’t know if I’ll get chance through the summer holidays? I’ll have a think and buy some next weekend if I decide to.

MamaSJ15 · 07/08/2021 06:53

@SLT90 yeah I'm planning on waiting, hope this is the one 🤞
Aww no, I hope you LO is better soon! It's hard enough being stuck inside at the best of times but not when they're poorly too! Maybe try taking him to splash in puddles? My LO loves it!

@coles85, thank you 😊

@CrackingTheWhip sorry about the bfn, but you're not out till AF arrives so fingers crossed!

darcey87 · 07/08/2021 20:50

Good you have things to distract yourself @SLT90!

Sorry you had a negative test @CrackingTheWhip - maybe late ovulation? When is AF due?

Fingers crossed for you this week @MamaSJ15!

I start ov tests tomorrow and probably start every other day DTD on Monday. Feeling quite lousy, coming down with a cold I think, hope that doesn't mess my cycle up this month!

It'll sound ridiculous but I'm really hoping to get pg this month or next as it'll mean I get to swerve a really awful work project that's due to start next June because I'll be on mat leave.

MamaSJ15 · 08/08/2021 08:39

@darcey87 thank you. I'm half convinced AF is going to arrive early. I don't know why cause I've not got any symptoms or anything. But we're going to the in-laws for Sunday lunch today which is an hour away so maybe that's why I think it'll happen today 😂

I hope you're feeling better soon, me and the LO had a nasty cold a couple of weeks ago, it's horrible isn't it!
Haha, that's a good reason to want to be on maternity leave!

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing ok. Do you mind if I ask your views on my cycle again? You might remember I was a bit worried and then I said AF showed up: I feel like it's passed now, but I didn't have a proper AF. Does this sound like anovulation? I got some back pain as normal (I only ever have it mild) and I'd say I had two days max when I had what I suppose was some spotting, more like a bit of stringy tissue if that's not tmi, but only on wiping. I use cloth period pants and I honestly had nothing on them on any day. My period was meant to start on Friday according to Flo, but I had my first bit of spotting on Tuesday, and I just had this 'feeling' today that it had finished. Ive had similar in some of my recent months, but if we dtd (if you call it that when it's not the right window!), it kind of brings on a bleed, but it's very brief, maybe just that one night. I'm going to book to speak to my GP about it but any experience is helpful! Thanks all x

coles85 · 09/08/2021 11:21

@Laureatus that does sound quite confusing for you, and I'm sorry I don't have much experience to help! I think, when in doubt, speaking to your GP is always a good idea, even for your own peace of mind. It doesn't sound like a proper "AF" from what you've described, but that said I have heard that after coming off the pill your cycle can be off kilter for up to 6 months, so this could be part of that (although from what you posted previously it didn't look too irregular). Give your GP a call and ask just to put your mind at ease.

How is everyone else doing? Do we have anyone testing this week? Hope everyone is well and all the DCs are healthy and over all the illnesses we seem to have had!

darcey87 · 09/08/2021 12:56

That doesn't sound like it's normal for you @Laureatus? Nothing wrong with a call to your GP, even if just for reassurance. I think they might want to know about the bleeding when DTD as it could need looking at - one of my friends gets the same and it was reassuring for her to have it looked at and diagnosed as cervical erosion.

Have you taken a test? Because honestly it sounds like your period is late and you've had cramping and spotting but not a full period so could be pg?

How did it go yesterday @MamaSJ15? Did AF show up at lunch?

How are you feeling @coles85?

I am lousy with cold so will not be DTD tonight as I can't breathe properly or hear properly! Will see how I am tomorrow/Weds. Not really in the mood for TTC this month because I feel so lousy about my body (overweight). And yet I've been waiting for over a year to start trying!

Laureatus · 09/08/2021 13:26

Thanks so much @darcey87 , I will speak to my GP. Had a quick Google of cervical erosion (never heard of it before), but it doesn't quite tally with what I've been seeing but I'll still ask about it. I did a frer at 8dpo and the day my AF was due (both dates according to Flo). But I'll get another one just to be sure in case some of the Flo predictions were wrong.

MamaSJ15 · 09/08/2021 13:33

@darcey87 we had a lovely lunch thank you, and no it didn't 😂 due Thursday so maybe I was just being paranoid about thinking it was going to show early!
I hope you're feeling better soon, it really is crappy when you feel so bad. Colds are horrible!

OP posts:
SLT90 · 09/08/2021 17:25

@darcey87 I've a bad cold too 😭 feeling absolutely rotten and so exhausted. I had planned to DTD every other day all cycle but that got shelved after ovulation as I've been feeling so rubbish. Really hope it's not going to impact potential implantation, but I'm sure it wouldn't! 3DPO today I think
