Hello,
I couldn't see a thread for ladies trying for baby no 2, so I thought I'd start one.
I'm nearing the end of cycle 3, 12DPO today, AF due on Wednesday. Having all sorts of symptoms that I don't usually get.
My first LO turned 2 a couple of months ago.
Look forward to hearing others' stories 😊

Anyone have accreta? X

MamaSJ15 · 15/07/2021 08:36

That's so cute @FrannyBooBoo! I'm not even sure if my LO knows what a sister is yet! It's never really come up haha.

So AF arrived this morning, so day 1 in cycle #4 now.
I seem to have a new positive energy about me today. The app I use for tracking my cycle has started to mess up my predicted cycle lengths because I came on early last time but it's gone back to normal now and the app hasn't so I've decided I'm going to try and avoid the app for a bit and just be a bit more casual about things. Have fun rather than just 'do it because it's the fertile week', it could be all wrong because of the app anyway 😂
If anyone wants to join me on the casual way (and keep me on the right track too!) Then please be my guest 😊
How's everyone else doing today? X

Pasha82 · 15/07/2021 13:34

@MamaSJ15 glad you feel positive and ready for #4. Well the app says I'm 2 days late but I got a bfn this morning. I think I ovulated late so who knows as I may be 11dpo instead of 14 dpo which is what my app says!! You have the right idea to do it the relaxed way as the app is irritating at times!

MamaSJ15 · 15/07/2021 13:39

@Pasha82 I really do find it irritating to be honest. Which app do you use? I know they can never be 100% accurate but it's still annoying!

I find myself just gravitating towards the app all the time when I have no reason to even be on it. It makes it all life consuming when actually I want to make the most of the time I have with my current 'baby' (she is so not a baby anymore!) While she's still little and the second will happen when the time is right 😊

I'm saying all this in the hopes it will make me actually do as Im saying 😂😂 x

@MamaSJ15 I use the Premom app. I guess it will happen at some point. Good luck for the next cycle x

CrackingTheWhip · 15/07/2021 16:19

Hello! I’m currently CD10 (I think!), cycle 1 after coming off my pill in May and had my first period start last Monday.

My fertile window is due on the 24th but we’re meant to be staying with family from the 24th… however a family member in that household may have covid so I may not miss the window after all 🤭 we’ll see what happens though.

I’m using the Ovia app and trying to track with CM and generally just enjoying having my sex drive back after coming off my pill! 😁

darcey87 · 15/07/2021 19:19

Hello all! CD9 today but clearly the grapefruit juice is working as my hormones are still very low post-period but plenty of EWCM, so goodness only knows what it'll be like when I am actually ovulating! It makes me feel optimistic for this cycle but who knows.

I use Ovia too, but it's a bit trigger happy the moment you report EWCM it wants to shift your fertile window earlier.

Hope you have luck in your relaxed cycle @MamaSJ15. I don't mind the planned sex but I know it's not for everyone and it's quite a lot of pressure after a while I imagine.

Symptom spotting is always a bit pointless for me as tender breasts are a premenstrual sign for me and I do sometimes get spotting before AF so I would have no idea if it was one or the other.

Anyone else using Conceive Plus? It sounds like I'm throwing everything at it, which I am! I am just concerned that my weight (I am obese) will have an impact so doing something extra makes me feel more in control. Am trying to lose weight but it's not something I find easy to do.

FrannyBooBoo · 15/07/2021 19:40

Evening all,

@MamaSJ15 sorry to hear AF arrived, I always find a burst of positivity when it arrives as at least I know...and I think oh well there is always next month, which I am incredibly grateful for!

I find the apps a blessing an a curse, I'm using femometer at the moment and it seems to be even more sensitive than me, like you say @darcey87 sometimes I'll log something sort of minor and suddenly it's telling me I'm ovulating....it makes it all a bit more stressful!

I'm changing jobs at the moment, so we aren't gonna TTC for a few months so that I will be able to get stat pay when we do have bb#2...I'm planning to use the next two months to lose a stone (hopefully!!) And track my baby as that's what I did last time and it seemed to work....although getting an accurate reading is much harder with a 2 yr old!!

MamaSJ15 · 15/07/2021 19:51

Welcome @CrackingTheWhip, I hope you don't miss your fertile window!

@darcey87 I use Ovia too, I find that it changes things way to easily as well. I had a shorter cycle last time (24days) so it changed my next projected cycle to be 26 days which was average, but it went back to 28days and for some reason Ovia changed my next one to 24 days... Makes no sense! I'm gonna try avoid it this time, I know the roundabout time I'm fertile so I'll just stick to that 😊
We were trying to just have sex every other day through the fertile period but when it's expected, it's just not as fun and feels forced sometimes so I want to try make.ot a bit more enjoyable.

@FrannyBooBoo everything is harder with a 2 year old 😂 love her to bits though!!
I don't usually get this positivity so it's new for me haha. Feel grateful right now though!
Good luck with your new job! X

I'm thinking of doing SMEP in September, honestly I feel exhausted already, just thinking about it haha!

These last 6 months of stopping and starting TTC has taken a lot of the joy out of it....going to use condoms for the next two cycles and try and just enjoy it all a bit more.

coles85 · 15/07/2021 20:44

Ah damn @MamaSJ15 that AF arrived, but glad to hear you're feeling positive!
I've been using the flo app but because my cycles have been soooo all over the place it's not really that helpful tbh.

My last two cycles while not trying have been 37 & 41 days. This month I'm on day 28 today but pretty sure I ovulated yesterday based on CM (not doing any ovulation tests or anything since it's only month 1) so if that's the case then I think we're still in the window to conceive. Been doing it every other day for nearly 2 weeks Confused

Looking forward to a break!!!

MamaSJ15 · 15/07/2021 22:00

@FrannyBooBoo I read about SMEP, it sounds exhausting 😂 good luck!

Thanks @coles85. That must be frustrating having such long cycles. Haha I bet you are!

I have a question for all here, as we've all had one baby. Does anyone else get a pain/ache around the 'lady parts' (don't know how else to put it!) While on their period, since having a baby? I had a bit of a horrific birth with my LO, so I don't know if it's because of that or if it's just something that happens after having a baby, but while I'm on the heavy part of my period I get a horrible ache down there if I stand or walk for a bit of time, I'm glad I work in an office! X

OMG I get this...I had a 3rd degree tear and had to have surgery and my scar is uncomfortable when I'm due on...it's so annoying...when I had a check up post partum the midwife said I'd healed really well...but literally never mentioned that it might hurt or ache from time to time!

Sex definitely hasn't been the same since having my LG...

MamaSJ15 · 16/07/2021 08:28

@FrannyBooBoo it's not nice is it?! I ache so much right now! I was never told about it either. I had a reaction to the induction which caused all my problems giving birth, I had an assisted delivery in the end with forceps but they cut me inside (thankfully I was numbed!) But I lost A LOT of blood, I had a transfusion at the time and then another one a few days later. But I had over 20 stitches inside and out, then got an infection, it took a good 6-8 weeks before I could even sit down without pain! So I wasn't sure if it was because of what happened or a general thing.
Thankfully, 2 years on and sex doesn't seem to have been affected. Although it took a long time before I'd let my husband go near me!

OP posts:
darcey87 · 16/07/2021 08:44

@MamaSJ15 @FrannyBooBoo yeah that's because carrying and giving birth to a baby has stretched and weakened all the pelvic tendons, ligaments and muscles (they're basically slightly worn - like a car part!) so when there's extra pressure/cramps they feel heavy and ache because they're tired.

It's normal, but if you feel heaviness at other times I'd recommend seeing a pelvic health physiotherapist.

I quite like SMEP! But maybe I won't be saying that after 3 rounds of it!

It makes sense when you think of everything that goes on down there during pregnancy and labour, I wish they explained a bit more about what to expect in the years post-baby. My husband is a paramedic and also suggested that all the extra blood flow during your period would make it all more sensitive!

I went to the pelvic floor clinic after having my LG, my physio put the fear of god in me haha if we are luckily enough to have bb2 i'm opting for a elective c-section....I don't want to be pooping myself at 60!!

I like the idea of SMEP, and it can't hurt to do it as much as possible...I find making sure we do it on the day of ovulation really stressful, and a couple of months the pressure got to my husband too...I sort of forget he isn't a sperm machine hahahaha

darcey87 · 16/07/2021 09:51

There should definitely be more education about what to expect postnatally. I try to be honest with friends who haven't yet had children about my experiences, because they are far from uncommon. In my NCT group only 1 out of 6 women had uncomplicated/unassisted births. Everyone else had bad experiences.

But obviously we are all here for round 2!

I know SMEP is a lot, especially as you may end up having sex 4 days in a row depending on your ov timing! But I've bought some new lingerie and we are both really up for it!

Another 'low fertility' for me on the CB test this morning but Ovia says my fertile window will only start on CD11 tomorrow. My cycle has been 28 days for the last couple of months (27 before that) so expecting to ov on Tuesday.

CrackingTheWhip · 16/07/2021 12:52

I had an EMCS with my son so I don’t think I recognise what you’ve explained about the pains but I have itches that I just can’t scratch with that scar, if that’s any consolation at all?

I agree with you @darcey87 that we all went through things like that and we still want to do it again, it’s a bit strange haha.

MamaSJ15 · 16/07/2021 14:04

It does make sense @FrannyBooBoo @darcey87, but its bloody annoying! Thankfully, it only happens during my period, not at other times.
I'm opting for a c-section for #2 too. I cannot go through that again! It took me probably about 18 months to decide I was going to have another one, I was adamant after #1 that was it! But it's more about my LO, I don't want her being an only child (not that there's anything wrong with that, just my personal choice).

I have one friend who has had 3 children, each was a breeze through the birth! Felt so jealous haha!

I've so far kept to my word and not gone on the app, it's only CD 2 but a small victory is still a victory! Grin

Well done @MamaSJ15 ! It's hard to do!

Another elective c here. As I have a birth injury they may insist, but at least I shouldn't have to plead for it. I didn't know that about itchy scarring though! How frustrating @CrackingTheWhip

Hey Ladies 👋🏻

Jumping on this thread too 🥰 We are on Cycle 1 of trying for our second baby, our son turned 2 a few months ago... Have been on the pill since having him so have had no periods, I believe to of had one last month so according to my apps and tracking of OV ( forever peeing on sticks) 😂 I am currently 5 DPO.... after what felt like forever... Cycle day 27 is when I got my positive 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I'm a terrible symptom spotter so have been looking out for any, I've had cramps on and off for a few days now, back ache, and genuinely feel like I'm going to come on... so who knows... 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Not feeling very optimistic this time around as I have gained quite a lot of weight and have recently been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis ☹️ So am on medication and constantly in pain, I'm only 26 so it was a massive shock to the system, but I'm trying to think positive and working through it, TTC is helping a lot as it's taking my mind off of other things!

Let's hope we all get out BFP's soon 🙏🏻💕

Now time to read through the whole thread and catch up with all your convo's 🥰

Baby dust to you all ladies 💕

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 16/07/2021 14:46

@MamaSJ15

Just re read the chat 💬 I had a horrific birth too with #DS, I ended up having to be cut and forceps where used as well, then haemorrhaged when he came out and had to be stitched etc... 🤦🏻‍♀️ Bloody nightmare what we go through for them 😂 I too feel dull aches, especially when I'm AF arrives, I know what you mean about not letting DH anywhere near you... That first time even after months of healing still gives me the shivers 😩😂

You Mama's who have the C- Sections still have it just as rough, bless you, with the healing time etc... 🙏🏻☹️

We are all made of steel 💪🏻😉 Glad you've got a positive attitude for this cycle @MamaSJ15

Hi everyone.
I'm TTC #2.
On cycle 9 as of today. Can't believe it, actually feel heartbroken this time Sad
