Hello,
I couldn't see a thread for ladies trying for baby no 2, so I thought I'd start one.
I'm nearing the end of cycle 3, 12DPO today, AF due on Wednesday. Having all sorts of symptoms that I don't usually get.
My first LO turned 2 a couple of months ago.
Look forward to hearing others' stories 😊

Sorry meant to direct that at @MamaSJ15 !

darcey87 · 23/07/2021 08:49

I had both mine early on - AZ, before the blood clot stuff. I felt a bit under the weather for a day but was then fine, and no impact on my cycles.

My brother is a doctor in a large hospital and is horrified by the number of pregnant women coming in with bad cases of Covid. They are all unvaccinated.

There is huge amounts of evidence from the US and Israel that having the vaccine in pregnancy has no adverse effects and protects the mother from severe Covid just as it does the overall population. And there is similarly no evidence it has any impact on fertility. Fewer than 1% of women taking the vaccine have seen any change in their periods, according to the ZOE study - while for comparison it is considered 'normal' to have cycle variation when coming off the pill (according to the NHS).

My friend who had an extremely high risk pregnancy was recommended to get it, and did, and was fine.

I think I would always follow the medical advice, but I appreciate I haven't been in the position of making a decision while pg.

Thank you for your input @coles85 and @darcey87

I had my second dose earlier this week (Pfizer) and have had a sore throat since the day after, my arm was very sore and i was tired. But it's not too bad. Wish the sore throat would go away though!

I wasn't sure about getting the vaccine at first with TTC but decided it was for the best!

And congrats @coles85, thats such great news!!

Hi All,

Can I please join? Just started trying for baby number 2. I'm now officially 1DPO.

I have a 4 year old son who I was very lucky to conceive 1st month of trying.

My cycles are around 24-26 days. So I'm just about to begin my 2 week wait.

Would love to share advice and support 😊

MamaSJ15 · 24/07/2021 07:58

Hello @caz198917 and welcome 😊

How are you? Good luck! The tww is so frustrating isn't it! I think I'm on CD 9 so heading towards ovulation soon 😊

Hi @MamaSJ15,

No, I've not had the jab yet, I have decided not to have it whilst ttc.

Welcome! @caz198917 Smile
Its good to have a place where we can all chat, isn't it!

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 24/07/2021 09:11

Hey girls,

Sorry just trying to catch up on what I've missed... Have spent the last few days symptom spotting like crazy as this was my first proper cycle after coming off my pill... AF showed herself this morning which sucks after a gruelling 39 day cycle 😩 Hoping this cycles shorter!

Massive congratulations to you @coles85 😍👏🏻

I had both my vaccines early this year as I work in pharmacy at a hospital, so I'm in the thick of it! Had the Pzfier both times and seemed to be ok 👌🏻 I'm in immune suppressant medication, so they advised me to have them to minimise COVID symptoms if I did catch it 🦠

Have a good weekend all 🥰 Baby dust 💕

coles85 · 24/07/2021 15:33

@SunshineAndRainbows6 aw damn that's such a pain after a long cycle. I'm really sorry to hear AF has arrived.

I hope this new cycle is your lucky one 🤞🤞🤞 are you planning on tracking closely/OPKs etc or are you taking it easy and just trying to relax about it?

Hopefully you're feeling ok, I know I'm not the most fun during my time of the month Confused

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 24/07/2021 16:37

Thanks @coles85 I'm currently sat stuffing my face with McDonald's 😂 so that's helping my mood haha!!

I thought I did great this month, started full throttle with OPKs and even used Concieve plus during my fertile window 😂 Probably wasn't the best way to start as now I feel like we did everything we could and it didn't happen, so feel as if I've got nothing else to improve on this month 😩

How are you feeling? Has it sunk in yet? 🥰 Soooo exciting!! 👏🏻💕

coles85 · 24/07/2021 17:01

@SunshineAndRainbows6 nice one!!!! Love a McDonald's lol!

That's so annoying that you did all the tracking this month with no joy. But it's still early days for you guys isn't it? Sending you lots of luck for this time round. I'd say just keep tracking and doing what you're doing.

Not quite sunk in yet and my app is obviously calculating based on LMP so saying I'm over 5 weeks which is definitely not accurate. Wish I could figure it out more accurately (again, my impatience is kicking in). Guess I'll just need to wait til my scan (hoping we get that far of course!)

darcey87 · 24/07/2021 19:04

@SunshineAndRainbows6 ah sorry to hear that what a bummer after all the effort! Good luck for cycle 2 🤞🤞

Now 6DPO and the days are crawling by... all the weird twinges have gone which is helpful for avoiding symptom spotting. Sore boobs but that's normal for post-ov for me. I'm kind of assuming (just because I don't want to be disappointed) that it hasn't been a successful cycle, but then I worry if it has been successful I'll wish it away by being pessimistic 🙈

Still planning to test next Friday.

Hi guys, also looking to join the conversation 😊

I’m 33, I have a 4 year old son and hoping to extend our family. I fell pregnant in April, I found out almost 4weeks ago that we had lost our baby, I started bleeding at 11weeks and we lost the baby at 7weeks. It was/is devastating.
We would love a second child but I’m not sure I can go through this again. I’ve not had a period yet and me and my husband have just started to become intimate for the first time since - unprotected.
I’m anxious about the Covid vaccine and pregnancy, I had my first jab 2 weeks ago. I am petrified that I will miscarry again. But also hopeful 🤞🏻

SLT90 · 24/07/2021 23:39

Hi all, hoping I can join too 😊 I've been hovering for a month or so on MN but finally CD3 of our first cycle TTC baby #2. Our son is almost 16 months old and was a March 2020 'lockdown baby' so we are hoping for a sibling any time from April 2022 onwards! We were lucky and conceived cycle 2 last time, so I feel quite anxious that things might not go so smoothly this time. Time will tell I suppose!

coles85 · 25/07/2021 07:10

Welcome @SLT90 and best of luck! Fingers crossed for a really quick turn around again!!

@Ter2021 & @Dollface20 so sorry to hear about your losses Thanks I hope this cycle is your lucky one.

Rachy11 · 25/07/2021 07:13

Hi everyone can I join. This is my 3rd month ttc baby number 2. We have a 4 year old. I track my cm and also use the ovia app but think I’m 3 dpo. Not holding out much hope for this month as only dtd once in fertile window due to being ill. Fingers crossed for lots of BFP this month xxx

Josephine2021 · 25/07/2021 08:48

Hi everyone, am I able to join too?

I’m 33 and have a beautiful DD, who’s just over 2. We’re trying for our second, for some reason I feel really anxious about not falling on yet… we’ve been unprotected since before my cycle returned last October, and still nothing.
I’ve also been excited as this month I’ve got to 51 days and still not sign of af! But still nothing but bfn…no idea what’s going on but I felt so similar to how I felt early on with DD.
Sorry to hear of your losses @Dollface20 @Ter2021, can’t imagine how hard that’s been. 💐

Sending lots of hope for the bfp’s for all of us!xx

Welcome to @Ter2021 @SLT90 @Rachy11 @Josephine2021, wishing you all good luck!

Sorry about your losses @Ter2021 @Dollface20

@Josephine2021 do you have any idea how many DPO you are? It must be really hard to be at 51 days and no BFP or AF. Do you usually have long cycles?

Sorry about your BFN @Dollface20 but it's still very early days! I think at 9DPO it's 50/50 on faint BFPs and false negatives so keep testing! www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=9

I am 7DPO and keep googling 'how many DPO for BFP' because I want to test! It's never going to be a positive on 7DPO but I go back and forth between not testing til 12DPO, not testing til I'm due on in 10 days and just testing daily from Weds. I wasn't this obsessed the first time around!

Ter2021 · 25/07/2021 18:45

Thank you guys,
Just wondering anyone that have sadly experienced a previous loss… how did it feel when you fell pregnant again, we’re you able to enjoy the moment and the pregnancy or did fear and worry have an impact?

Rachy11 · 25/07/2021 19:43

@darcey87 thanks. I’m trying so hard not to symptom spot, last two months Iv convinced myself I had every pregnancy symptom going. I can remember with my little girl we’d been trying a couple of months, nothing happened. The month I actually got pregnant we only dtd once in fertile period and I had no symptoms apart from being a little more tired. We had decided that we would stop trying and were going to rescue a pup instead. The next week I was at work and was very hormonal and temperamental someone I worked with said are u pregnant or something and then I realised I was late for my period. I pinched a test from work got home and was in shock when I saw the two lines. I really really hope everyone gets their positives this month I will be thinking of u all xxx

Josephine2021 · 25/07/2021 21:15

Thanks @darcey87 it’s been really rubbish to be honest. I’ve not had one this long since my cycles came back postpartum, usually 31 days.
I’m not doing any opk testing, but my Fitbit app suggests that I’d have ovulated 16th June, my period then due 5th July. Though (forgive possible tmi) I’ve had loads of discharge around when I was due on, and since. The last week or so it’s been far more again. No idea what’s going on, but I’ve felt so similar to when I was expecting last time…just no bfp.

darcey87 · 26/07/2021 06:29

Well I just wasted a FRER at 8DPO - not even the shadow of an indent, white as the driven snow! I feel like I'm going to be a testing fiend this month though so I've just amazon primed some cheapies to come this evening and just accepted I'm going to test every day for the next week.

@Rachy11 you may well have caught, you did last time and didn't have much in the way of symptoms/had just once DTD! Fingers crossed for you. Are you an early tester too?

@Josephine2021 that sounds really tough. It's really hard not being completely sure what is going on inside. If you had ovulated mid-June then your period would definitely be here by now/you would have a bfp, the luteal phase is the one that doesn't have much variation compared to pre-ov. More likely that ovulation was delayed/skipped in June. @coles85 on here was having longer cycles and just got her bfp, so sometimes it's just delayed, and I read on another thread someone who had skipped a cycle entirely. Hopefully you'll know for certain either way in the next week or so but it's so hard waiting. If it doesn't turn up will you contact your GP?

Rachy11 · 26/07/2021 06:38

@darcey87 aw it is sooooo hard not to test. I’m really trying not to this cycle and just wait for period. I’m actually away visiting family at the weekend so at least my mind will be occupied and keep me away from poas! Really got everything crossed for us!!! Xx

coles85 · 26/07/2021 06:57

@darcey87 it's so hard to resist POAS, something in your mind is always saying "but what if..." I definitely did that this month too!

The internet cheapies I got from Amazon actually showed my BFP at the same time as the FRER did so they might not be as rubbish as I thought.

For anyone looking to get cheaper tests that aren't too bad, these are the ones I got: smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B08T6B1CMJ?psc=1&ref=ppxpopmobbasin_title (hope that link works)

@Rachy11 that's good you've got a distraction. It makes a difference!
