TTC - Ovulation

Hi!

I have been TTC this month. I got a flashing smiley face on the clearblue OPKS this morning so all is looking good! I would love to talk to anyone else who is also TTC this month... I am currently driving my husband mad as it's all I can talk about. 😊

@hlkxxx I have used Ovia and Kindara but I tend to go by my CM and body temp and the ovulation sticks. I use the apps as a guide but I don't go by the exact timings. I tend to do a combination of the 3.

I think we are going to try the clear blue digital ovulation tests from next month, are they easy to use? Being very honest I get confused with it all! Will they tell me when I'm ovulating or signal if I'm due to ovulate? Sorry to sound silly!

@hlk1991 So the OPKs will signal when your LH level is rising (flashing smiling on CB OPK I think) and then when it's positive (or a static smiley I think on the clear blue OPK) I believe it's within 24 hours or so that you ovulate.

I think it's best to DTD maybe every day or every other when you get the flashing and static smiley and maybe a few days after for good measure 😂

I could be totally wrong and happy to be corrected! This is my understanding anyway xx

I already have two children from a previous marriage (16 y girl and 12y boy) , my current partner doesn't have children and his dearest wish is to become a father . I am so scared of the disappointment that comes with TTC as I have PCOS and both my children were conceived with Clomid . I am no longer in my 20's and I know it with age it gets harder !!
I have started Clomid this month on CD 2 -CD6 , I am on CD 10 today and I have lots of twinges and cramps on both sides of my ovaries , I am keeping my hopes up and wishing to get a positive OPK in the next few days 😀

@Itsjustme20 Yes I can see something very faint, but I do find those tests unreliable! Have you tried a decent quality one with FMU?

@hlk1991 The flashing smiley means that your oestrogen is rising, and this usually happens in the days before ovulation. The monitor will continue to flash until it recognises a rise in LH. When you get the static smiley it means that your oestrogen and LH have surged, so you are about to ovulate.

Also @Itsjustme20 I would take the Boots folic acid or folic acid with vitamin D and no other supplements. Worked for me!

Using FMU isn't the best with me. I've only ever had BFP (prior to this cycle too) in the evenings.

I've got a FRER saved for Friday which I'll use then. Apparently some women take a while to build up enough hormone so it could be that. I just don't know 😂

It could be... all TTC is a waiting game 🥴

@MrsRosaline Thanks lovely! I've been taking folic acid for around 2 weeks now and I'm on vitamin D supplements as I'm deficient. Hopefully my cycle will sort out soon either with pregnancy or AF 🥰

Ah makes sense. I read that vitamin D deficiency can cause irregular periods! X

@Itsjustme20 I would deffo try and wait afew days if possible like you're planning to save the ongoing torture! I'm actually dreading test next week! Rather than wishing the days away to get to 13dpo I'm just dreading it! Xxx

@Itsjustme20 I had a smilies test to you yesterday evening (first pic) and second pic is FMU today . Still not strong but I see a line forming on both tests and the second one has some colour when the first one didn’t . I am using FRER tests . I’m about 9 DPO now hoping it’s stronger again tomorrow (if I can’t find the urge to test again later). !

@newtolineofduty Im resisting every urge to test today. Im going to try my best to hold out until Friday but not leaving the house or ordering any tests til then 😂😂

I've got some easy@home tests coming. Apparently they don't show any evap lines. If they come back positive I'll get a clear blue then 😊

Apparently clear blue aren't the best if it's early on and I'm not convinced with FRER as the box always arrives damaged from Amazon 😂

That's the problem now 😂 if it was one and the rest were negative I'd think ah yeh ok that's an evap but to have 3 different brands being positive and some negative I'm so confused 😂

I'm now 10 days late for AF (according to prediction apps anyway) so I haven't a clue what's happening anymore.

I'm starting to 'feel pregnant' which is totally stupid but I've got a funny taste in my mouth today as well as the continuation of nausea, boobs sore and darkening and like a full feeling below. But it's possibly my body playing tricks on me 😢

@Itsjustme20 it all points to you being pregnant for sure! Did you say you're going to have a blood test at the GP to confirm? X

I am keeping my fingers crossed for more sticky BFP's in here .
Something I have learnt is to never ever use clearblue dye tests, I got 3 false positives on them last month !! I tired the 1£ shop ones / superdrug/ FRER and Asda and they were all negative, just the clearblue being nice and trying to give me false hope lol.
@Itsjustme20 can you get a blood test ? Having 3 positives from 3 different brands means you're pregnant ; maybe the rest of the other tests aren't as sensitive; or could it be that you ovulated later then you thought ?

I could've ovulated later. I didn't do any OPKs so it's entirely possible!

I've had 3 positives - 1 on an IC, 1 on a morrisons own brand and one on a coop one.

I've had negatives on FRER, clear blue and the second tests in the morrisons/coop packs.

I'm going to ring docs tomorrow and explain. I haven't a clue what to think anymore!

@newtolineofduty The midwife part of my GP said to wait until weekend and test again but I might call my GP tomorrow to ask for one x
