TTC - Ovulation

Hi!

I have been TTC this month. I got a flashing smiley face on the clearblue OPKS this morning so all is looking good! I would love to talk to anyone else who is also TTC this month... I am currently driving my husband mad as it's all I can talk about. 😊

Hey @QueenLagertha! Glad you're feeling more relaxed! I am too actually! So I haven't noticed a HUGE increase in my CM but I think there's been a slight increase! I'm not sure I've been taking enough EPO though. What dose have you been taking? X

I'm so confused! Normally I'd have had a peak reading by now, but I've not had anything. In fact, I tested with a different monitor and it's "low". Having said that, I had a big temp dip last night so now I'm just confused 😕

That's annoying @MrsRosaline hopefully just a late ovulation.

I'm taking holland and Barrett 1000mg three times daily. So quite a lot. Plus I've been taking the cough medicine too. TMI again but i had to come home from work for lunch today and change my underwear 😳 Now have a liner on.

Oh no @MrsRosaline how frustrating! I think you can't go wrong with just doing it every other day even if you 'miss' the LH surge day because even then you don't know whether ovulation is 12 hours or 72 hours after that!

@QueenLagertha I've only been taking 1000 a day maybe I need to up it! X

@newtolineofduty yeah 3000mg is recommended. Just ensure you stop taking it after ovulation (you probably already know this)

I was a little wary of taking it as there's the potential it may interact with some other medication I take so that's why I've taken just a minimal dose. I think I read between 1500-3000 is ideal so might do 1500 next month. Did you start on CD1? I didn't start until CD7 or so xx

Yeah I started CD1. Primarily to help with my PMS.

@QueenLagertha did you notice an increase in your CM soon after or just when you got to your fertile window? Xx

@newtolineofduty just from Saturday (CD8). Had proper EWCM Saturday morning. More watery today and yesterday. Copious amounts of it.
Only problem is I don't know what exactly has caused it. Should've tried one thing at a time 😂 TMI alert again but I am extremely frisky since yesterday too. More so than usual.

Yeah I will just keep going for now @newtolineofduty. Is it even OK to ovulate late!?

@MrsRosaline I'm actually hoping for a slightly
later ovulation this month. I read that if you ovulate too early the egg mightn't be mature enough. I think you should be ok as long as you have a long enough luteal phase following ovulation. Ovulation date can change every month or mightn't happen at all some months. However your luteal phase should be mostly the same length.

@newtolineofduty 😂 I think so. Got a flashing smiley this morning. It's helpful as DH and I have agreed not to DTD unless we both want to this month. Instead of just doing it for the sake of it.

That's interesting @QueenLagertha. I think I'm just freaking out as I would normally have had my solid peak by now!

Yes definitely feel more relaxed, going for every 36 hours again I think and the reflexology 😊 the sticks were a nightmare for me so will go without for a couple of months I think x

I really wish we could do every 36 hours @LittleDoveLove as morning sperm is supposedly the best and it doesn't feel as heavy going as every day! Our little one just wouldn't allow it! X

@MrsRosaline I think your luteal phase sounds fine x have you tested morning and night? X

No I usually just do morning. I did do another clearblue this evening and it was still flashing ☹️😩

@MrsRosaline just seen on another thread a lady who got pregnant the month she never got a peak! X

Just joining I've been starting to track over the past few months and ttc going forward now.

Hey folks, my 2 pence worth, I have a 26 day cycle and have been using CB OPK and have got a static face of FMU of day 12 and then felt the ovulation twinge that evening.... so my ovulation could be 12hrs after static. I also did the LH strips in the afternoons and the LH surge was the same day as the static.....so much to work out with all this stuff. Last month we dtd a day too late. ( 2nd afternoon of static).. this month was that evening... an hour before ovu twinge started, I'll find out at the end of next week if it worked!

Just need to rant...I'm on my second peak day. Managed to DTD yesterday (first peak day) and saturday (first out of two high fertility days).

I really would hoped to have done it Sunday and tonight too but couldn't due to DP not feeling well. I'm feeling disappointed, like we've not given it our best shot ☹️

@newtolineofduty what OPKS are you using? Looks like you did it every other day, which is actually what is advised and recommended! You might not have ovulated yet, so I'd go again tomorrow 🙂

The clear blue flashing/static smiley one @MrsRosaline! I was wondering actually whether to skip today any way and just do tomo instead, then we would have done every other day like you said. Last time we did both peak days and it didn't work so I kind of want to try something different!

Hey @newtolineofduty I think you have did plenty. There should be plenty of swimmers there ready and waiting for the egg.

I've managed to convince myself that it not happening likely isn't due to lack of sperm waiting. We've did it every day and more most months and it hasn't happened. If we are quite sure when ovulation happens then I don't think it is necessary to do it so much.

Easier said that done I know.
