Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum I will keep tracking, and keep dtd every other day (sigh…I was looking forward to a rest!). My cycles are only 26 days long so god knows what will happen…xx

Magnum99 · 01/07/2021 09:00

Morning ladies, I hope you're all well.
Just had the results of day 21 progesterone back as 11, a quick google search seems to suggest this is an ok result. Is it just ok or should it ideally be higher?

thislittlebird · 01/07/2021 09:07

@Magnum99 Was it in nmol? It’s low like mine, if so. I had a score of 10 and docs have said it’s suboptimal ovulation. You may be ovulating fine, but you may also need some progesterone help. It’s all very unclear when you’re low but not under 5, which indicates no ovulation. Could also be just an off month for you.

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah, honestly just knowing my body can produce progesterone sometimes is a relief lol. I suspect I’m mildly PCO/S what with the high follicle count and I’m not ovulating regularly. Would be great if that blockage clearance did the trick but my expectations are low.

thislittlebird · 01/07/2021 16:34

I think my pre-AF migraine is coming on, very tired of her stupid face showing month after month after month after month. Hmm It really gets me down.

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/07/2021 19:32

@Misty84 it's annoying when it happens! Hopefully you won't have to wait too long

@Magnum99 I believe it should ideally be over 30, what days did you ovulate?

@thislittlebird I know what you mean by low expectations, part of me is hopeful because my iron levels are now good and oh swimmers are too but the rest of me is asking why I'm hopeful lol I'm sick of af too 😞

Magnum99 · 01/07/2021 19:51

@Marvellouslymadmum I didn't use OPK this month (couldn't face it emotionally after last month's CP), but my cycle is pretty regular and I get a lot of EWCM so I believe I ovulated on either 18th or 19th June and I had blood tests on 25th (this was the latest I could do it because I was going on holiday later on 25th).

The test result was actually 11 not 10, not much different though.
I spoke to the GP again and she said they can't prescribe progesterone because it's in the normal range, apparently it has to be a specialist who prescribes it. Is that right? It was the less helpful GP who I spoke to, the one who seems to think I'm crazy for wanting another baby when I've already got 2 children and previously told me I couldn't be referred to the fertility clinic.
Surprisingly I don't have much faith in anything she tells me 😏

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/07/2021 20:02

@Magnum99 it's difficult when you're not 100% sure on ov day. I think it's usually a specialist that prescribes progesterone but I'm sure some gps to it aswell. Depends on the gp though

thislittlebird · 01/07/2021 20:24

@Magnum99 10 or 11 is no different in the doctor’s eyes really, anything between 5 and 20 is iffy. it’s usually over 30 or 20 (depending on who is telling you) to indicate ovulation. I had 17.5 once and my results said defective luteal phase, then again at 10 it said the same thing. Maybe do it again next cycle in case it was a fluke result, it might have been slightly out. You can still get pregnant with those levels even if it is accurate though, just might indicate you need progesterone support if chemicals recur.

@Marvellouslymadmum I think it’s something given out by specialists too, GPs don’t like giving this stuff out.

Misty84 · 02/07/2021 06:17

@Farfaraway1 The problem you mentioned happened to us last night. Too tired, would never have dtd if I wasn’t keeping us to a military schedule…and we just gave up in the end as it wasn’t happening! I feel so sorry for my OH in those situations. 5 days in a row or whatever ridiculous number we were on, there’s no enjoyment left by that point!!

At least I finally got a temp rise this morning which means I have ovulated, so relieved.

@thislittlebird @Marvellouslymadmum I hear you; we’re all sick of it! The saddest part is every tww the hope is there, it’s so crushing when AF appears.

@KatRee hope you are feeling ok now xx

thislittlebird · 02/07/2021 07:53

@Misty84 it’s tough, sometimes you do just need to give up and go to sleep. Glad you ovulated!

I have that hope right now and I hate it that I do. Day 28 for me, it’s going to be a long day or two with a lot of googling. 😔

I blame the hycosy for giving me hope.

Farfaraway1 · 03/07/2021 01:48

Hi ladies. Well pretty sure I’ve had a very faint positive at 10dpo (pics attached) then followed by VERY negative tests at 11 & 12dpo. So it will be a chemical. Pretty gutted. I’m going to book in with the GP to discuss options from here and take bit of a step back from mumsnet and try to focus on my little family as it is, rather than TTC. I’ll come back to update you all if the thread is still around in a while! Hoping from the bottom of my heart we all get our BFP’s soon xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/07/2021 09:00

@Farfaraway1 so sorry, it's such a heartache ttc, ido hope the gp will help you. Take care, I'm sure I'll still be around for quite some time! Xx

KatRee · 03/07/2021 11:18

So sorry @Farfaraway1 Take care of yourself

Thanks @Misty84 I'm feeling surprisingly ok atm. OH is away for a few weeks so having a break from ttc this month, which I wouldn't have chosen to but I do feel it's helped mentally. I've been able to distract myself from my normal ruminations with work, which is a good place to be in for me as I had weeks and weeks where I just couldn't focus on anything

KatRee · 03/07/2021 11:24

My OH also has problems with performing- he says I put too much pressure on him when he's not in the mood, but the fw is so short that I get super stressed if I think we are going to miss it. He even sent me out of the house when he was producing his sample for the clinic 😕

Misty84 · 03/07/2021 12:34

@Farfaraway1 I’m so sorry😔 TTC is so bloody tough and emotionally draining. It’s a good idea to take some time out and focus on what you do have- your 2 wonderful boys!❤️ As @Marvellouslymadmum said, I’m expecting to still be here when you return! We’re always here for support.

@KatRee Exactly the same for us, it’s so much pressure but the fact is the fw is short and I feel stressed trying to make sure we give ourselves the best chance possible! When we ‘miss one’ I’m so gutted, thinking “well that could have been our chance”.
How nice to have a month off!!! It’s been so long now I can’t even imagine! Enjoy being able to relax!🙂

@thislittlebird Any updates? I know you’re at/approaching the end of your tww…🤞

thislittlebird · 03/07/2021 12:49

@Farfaraway1 a break sounds like a plan, good luck and hopefully you come back with some bfp news soon x

@KatRee I feel very grateful my DH doesn’t have performance anxiety because I think my general anxiety about all this and his adding to it would be difficult. It’s hard and I don’t know how they feel really, but I won’t lie I chuckled at him making you leave the house 😭

@Misty84 I think I might be late now???? But I’m not a 100% because I didn’t track ovulation. I’m possibly due on today or I’m late, but it’s hard to say. I have some symptoms, but you know what it’s like with symptoms, hard to trust in them. Just hoping AF doesn’t come today...

If the hycosy blockage clearance did work I’ll never stop praising that shit lmao

Misty84 · 03/07/2021 13:16

@thislittlebird Yes symptoms are just so annoying! Sometimes they’re there, sometimes they’re not, pretty much everything can be attributed to AF or pregnancy 🙄
Yes you’ll be singing the HyCoSy’s praises! I had mine in May but it was clear- good news in some ways but it was also a bit disappointing as there was nothing to change/improve things there.
Good luck!!!

thislittlebird · 03/07/2021 14:40

@Misty84 yep, and I feel like I’m losing the plot and imaging symptoms. Hate it. Early this morning my boobs stopped being sore, then I went back to bed for a bit and when I woke up the general soreness was back, and I’d developed a painful lower back.

Yeah, it’s funny because I totally did not want to do the hycosy and was planning to skip it entirely at one time because of the stories. But the fact that they found a blockage they could clear is the best outcome I could have hoped for really. I know there’s different levels of improvement on your chances depending on whether you have a hsg, a hycosy, and what solution they use, but I’ll take whatever improvement I can get, which must be something what with the blockage being cleared.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/07/2021 17:14

@thislittlebird even after so long I still can't help the symptom spotting, I'm constantly telling myself don't be silly but my mind doesn't care! 🤦🏼‍♀️ last month it was the smear etc for me but this month as my oh has had his second Covid jab I'm thinking there won't be much chance

thislittlebird · 03/07/2021 18:35

@Marvellouslymadmum I’m usually pretty good at not doing it but this month I’ve been a nightmare. Fingers crossed for you.

I was reading a paper on hycosys just now, myself aside, they seem to be helpful to a a lot of people, mad that the mean old doctor we saw didn’t offer me one when we went for our appointment.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/07/2021 19:46

@thislittlebird I tend to be 50/50 on the symptoms, I don't look for Them but if something is different I'm like 🤔 could it be? Naaaah don't be silly lol I've heard great things about the hycosy, no idea if that's something I'll be offered once I get to my referral 🤷🏼‍♀️

thislittlebird · 03/07/2021 20:55

@Marvellouslymadmum I had such mental symptoms in January and Feb and I don’t know if it was stress. But since I’ve started the acupuncture they’ve calmed down a lot. This is the most I’ve had in a while.

Hopefully they’ll offer you the hycosy. Now I know I had that blockage it amazes me they didn’t offer it at my appointment. Flushing out the old system can’t be a bad thing.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/07/2021 22:50

@thislittlebird it's definitely surprising they don't offer it to more people really as it seems quite common to have a blockage!

thislittlebird · 04/07/2021 17:24

Well, the hycosy definitely didn’t do the trick. AF is starting, as is my migraine. Sigh. I want to just go hide in bed until our holiday to Cornwall on the 16th. A week and half of work to do first.

Misty84 · 04/07/2021 17:38

I’m so sorry @thislittlebird. It’s so upsetting month after month, especially when there’s a bit of extra hope. Look after yourself this evening, get cosy with a blanket. Thinking of you xx
