@thislittlebird I think it depends on area so hopefully won't be too long for you, if maybe leave the complaint where it is for now until you've got your appointment through maybe. If it goes as quick as others in your area it shouldn't be too long on the wait front at all!

thislittlebird · 25/06/2021 14:57

@becarefuloutthere honestly I could cry. It’s been six months of just trying to get help and this is the first time an nhs doc has been proactive and sorted it out. Do you remember how long you waited between referral and first appointment or reproductive health chat?

He let me choose between Kings and Guys and said he thought Guys was nicer lol

It’s tempting to do one private round while I wait because I can’t see it moving fast. One round obviously means no finance packages because you need more than one for a package normally.

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/06/2021 15:39

Anyone have any idea at all what all this means? Finally got his semen analysis back and can't understand it 😂

@Marvellouslymadmum looks like he's got 24 million motile sperm if my calculation is right, Mr Ramsay told us you need 20 mil + so that's good. 5% morphology, also good motility at 51%. It all looks fine, just oddly handwritten!

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/06/2021 16:03

@thislittlebird that's good thank you! It's really confusing the way it's written. Can't make out what the volume bit is either as they've written it as a ratio 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think it may mean 1.4ml which is slightly low but I'm guessing if everything c else is good then it doesn't matter!

thislittlebird · 25/06/2021 16:05

@Marvellouslymadmum I think they mean 1.4ml too, and it is a little low but as you say, there’s clearly enough in that sample either way.

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/06/2021 16:13

@thislittlebird that's what I'm assuming anyway and as they said perfectly normal I'm guessing they think it's ok too

Geriatric1234 · 25/06/2021 16:18

@thislittlebird thank you! And so glad you found a good GP. It’s so random isn’t it?!? GP roulette is worse than egg roulette!!!

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you, yes I figured it should be okay! And I think the key thing on that SA is “normal sample” (though I’m sure the DH would’ve preferred the wording “legendary sample”/“potion of the gods”/“Thor’s descendant” as mine is hoping for…🤦🏻‍♀️) xxx

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/06/2021 16:52

@Geriatric1234 to be honest he was expecting worse as he only gave up smoking two months before and had spent the previous year on the sofa 😂 he was walking around like peacock strutting his stuff when they told him it was normal to dread to think what he's be like if it was better!

thislittlebird · 25/06/2021 20:36

@Marvellouslymadmum that’s good news though, you must be pleased the swimmers are fine?

ImpatientTTCer · 26/06/2021 06:54

@thislittlebird I am SO GLAD that you finally managed to speak to a nice, helpful GP. Fingers crossed the tests can be organised quickly for you!!

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/06/2021 10:39

@thislittlebird yes definitely! Considering he'd only given up smoking for two months then too it's really good! One less thing to worry about, although it does make me feel like no bfp is all down to me but at least it's not down to us both!

becarefuloutthere · 26/06/2021 11:52

@thislittlebird I can imagine hun! So we were told in dec that we would have an appointment in feb. After the feb appointment we were told funding would take 2-3 months to be approved. It was approved in 3 weeks! I had my lap in April and started ivf in May!
Great that you got the choice! Guys is frustrating as it can be slow and hard to hear bk from ppl but once you're in, they're really wonderful ppl! So friendly and nice etc.
We were gonna go one private round first too but then the funding got approved so we just waited to start once my lap was done.
@Marvellouslymadmum he has awesome sperm basically! It's great, honestly! The volume bit is slightly low but only ever so and doesn't really matter when the swimmers are so motile and he has so many of them with great shape too!
@Geriatric1234 haha that made me laugh 😆 I think my Dh felt like that on his second one when it approved beyond belief! Even the consultant had to ask him if he missed the pot on the first one 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/06/2021 12:06

@becarefuloutthere I'm so surprised! He was too 😂 he thinks he has super swimmers now lol I'm just hoping that is it was taken two months after he gave up smoking that the results wouldn't have been good before then - that way it means we actually have a chance now! Otherwise it means he has super swimmers and it's made no difference for the last three years 😑
How are you feeling now?

becarefuloutthere · 26/06/2021 14:04

@Marvellouslymadmum you defo have a chance now. Hard to know if it was bad before tho I get that. My Dh was terrible before giving up smoking and amazing afterwards! What's your next steps?
I'm ok thanks, feeling a bit sick again but it's manageable.

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/06/2021 14:14

@becarefuloutthere I'm just waiting for my gynae appointment now, I've got to have blood checked for iron again this month to see if it's better now I've been taking the tablets but apart from that I really don't think there's anything else to add! Just got to Carl try on and hope they book me in for a lap once I've seen them in august.

Glad the sickness is manageable, I always found ice water helped

becarefuloutthere · 26/06/2021 14:20

@Marvellouslymadmum ah yes, I knew it was lap next, I hope the gynae sorts you one. It could be the key to sorting all of this! I hope it's early august so it's just over a month to wait!
Thanks for ice water tip! X

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/06/2021 14:32

@becarefuloutthere me too! If they try and not do it I may throw a strop and cry lol it's 23rd so two months away but still that's a lot better than November!

becarefuloutthere · 26/06/2021 14:42

@Marvellouslymadmum Lol I would do exactly the same!! You need to get it done. Ah yes, it was brought forward wasn't it. Much better yes! X

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/06/2021 14:56

@becarefuloutthere yes here's hoping! X

Hi all

You may not remember me, I was active last year. I stopped coming on as it was beginning to affect me and my husband.

We have been TTC #2 for 15 months. I am 37 with a 5 year old.

Decided to test this morning as I am due my period. I had a lot of blood mixed in with mucus last week, a lot more than normal and thought I was ou, not sure what made me test. Anyway, this is my test results Shock

I'm I shock, I'm nervous, excited.. haven't told husband as he has taken son to swimming. Yikes!! He has the car so I can't even pop out to the chemist.

I know I definitely ovulate on CD12 and it's CD 28 today.

@CurlyNo2 congratulations 🥳 I bet you can't wait to tell Dh when he gets in!

CurlyNo2 · 27/06/2021 11:05

Thanks so much! You'd think I would be confident of a result having already gone through it before. But I have a nervous feeling like I can't actually believe it just yet.

CurlyNo2 · 27/06/2021 12:44

Ok so it's actually happening!! Please pray for a sticky bean..
