Ahhh that is encouraging @Geriatric1234

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/06/2021 22:34

@Geriatric1234 always so encouraging to hear! Thanks for sharing

thislittlebird · 22/06/2021 22:38

@Misty84 if it’s not fast it’s likely not happening lmao

I’m miserable now because my body clearly doesn’t do what it should. After a bit of ovulation excitement now I’m back to no sore boobs or anything else whatsoever. I just want a functioning body 😭. This all feels so pointless when I know the chance is so slim.

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/06/2021 22:52

@thislittlebird I totally get where you're coming from as I've felt the same this month, do you think your body does the same as mine and attempt ovulation a few times before it happens?

thislittlebird · 22/06/2021 23:19

@Marvellouslymadmum Maybe occasionally but I’m not sure tbh. It seems to do everything at the right time but then my progesterone just drops right off and 12 days later or thereabouts it’s cd1 again. I’m so tired of it all. I know it’s not going to work without help (if it works with help remains to be seen) and I really want to get that help.

Currently the urologist is on holiday all of June and so we can’t even arrange our next appointment until early July. Then it will likely be weeks away because he’s been away. I hate all this fruitless waiting so much.

Maybe I can book my smear, I’ll need to get that done.

ImpatientTTCer · 23/06/2021 04:26

@thislittlebird (and everyone waiting a long time for appointments!)

Have you had a blood test to double check immunity for MMR? It takes a couple of weeks to get the results, then if you need a booster/first jab you have to wait a month before the second and then a month for it to clear your body. So it’s a reeeeeeaaaaally good way to fill up time between doctor’s appointments 🙄

I was glad I checked though as apparently it wasn’t until the late 80s that babies were given the rubella jab as routine in the U.K. so I don’t think I ever had it (I was born in 1984). I was only immune to mumps and measles, and rubella is the dangerous one in pregnancy!

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 07:31

@thislittlebird can you talk to the lister about the progesterone? My ovulation seems to take a leave of absence every few months and have to be persuaded into returning!

@ImpatientTTCer isn't the jab we had at secondary school the mmr booster? The one they used to call the bcg jab?

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 08:06

@ImpatientTTCer oh no, I had no idea how long it would take. That rules me out of ivf for months then, basically. What an absolute crock. I don’t know how to find out if I’ve had it. I wish the GPs were normal, getting anything sorted is so hard in this triage system.

@Marvellouslymadmum no, we’re waiting for his results still, for everything. 🙄

Bcg is for TB. No idea what I had other than that one. Other than definitely having had measles and mumps in my life.

ImpatientTTCer · 23/06/2021 09:05

@Marvellouslymadmum there may have been a booster later on, but I obviously didn’t have it! The BCG was definitely something separate though.

@thislittlebird I called my GP and they printed a blood test request for me the same day, I just had to go and collect it and take to the local hospital where they tested for all three. The moment I got the results (10-12 days later) I booked the jab for the next week, and I think my second jab for three weeks later. They might even have your childhood vaccination records still, so maybe you won’t need anything! Definitely better to check sooner rather than later though!

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 09:38

@thislittlebird ahh that's a shame you can't ask yet, ahh I got that wrong then lol I would just ask your gp about the mmr

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 09:44

@ImpatientTTCer and did you get to talk to the GP? Did you tell them what’s it’s for? I’m so used to receptionists being obstructive I don’t expect anyone to help me.

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 09:50

@Marvellouslymadmum I guess I need to focus on getting these tests done for now. Going to go to the gp at lunchtime to try to see if they’ll let me speak to my own doctor.

ImpatientTTCer · 23/06/2021 10:17

@thislittlebird I told the receptionist that I needed blood tests authorised to test for MMR antibodies as I wanted to start trying for a baby, and my GP called me back a couple of hours later.

Good luck! I hope you can speak to someone xx

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 11:20

Thanks! @ImpatientTTCer

I’m going to go to the GP surgery with a long list of things shortly, they will be thrilled I’m shre!

GuessHowMuch · 23/06/2021 12:33

I took my tests back from DH. After all my promises of no early testing I’m staring at negative cheapies at 9DPO convinced I can see a tiny shadow. What is wrong with me?!?! Why have I no self control?!! 🤪

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/06/2021 17:48

@GuessHowMuch is there a faint line there though? Might be worth testing tomorrow 🤞

GuessHowMuch · 23/06/2021 18:27

I sent DH for a FRER - he came back with a ClearBlue Early one 🙄 It’s got a line on it but it goes the wrong way so completely negative. 9DPO is early still I suppose but I do like the gently let down of negative tests.

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 23:26

@thislittlebird how did you get on at the docs? Were they helpful this time?

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 23:30

@Marvellouslymadmum they were as helpful as they could be, but they don’t have my records yet. I’m going to request a rubella screening from the doctor when I speak to him. I gave them about 20 other tasks while I was there though lol

Smear and chlamydia test is booked, but the form I have says urine test for chlamydia. Does it make a difference if they do a swab? Not sure if I can specify a urine test over a swab

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 23:42

@thislittlebird oh that's good at least this surgery is being helpful! Not sure about the chlamydia test though I'd say either but I'm not sure on the ivf front

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 23:48

@Marvellouslymadmum maybe I’ll ask them when I go tomorrow. They’re gonna be sick of the sight of me.

It was good going again today because the receptionists seem to always be changing (it’s a large surgery) and I like that. Don’t want to be stuck with the meanies.

selina37 · 24/06/2021 07:18

Morning ladies, I've got problems with B6 I think.
I've been taking it regularly and it's worked great for LP spotting.
I take it all month.
I'm coming up to ovulation day and just like a month ago or so, I forgot to take B6 for a couple of days in a row and I'm now red bleeding again 🙄 Basically what happened last time is my cycle just started all over again 🤨😔

ImpatientTTCer · 24/06/2021 07:22

@thislittlebird I’ve had both urine tests and swabs done for chlamydia in the past. I was highly offended at the GP many years ago when they asked me to provide urine for a random chlamydia test, but they assured me that it was just a current drive and they were offering them to everyone under 25 😂 - otherwise, it’s always been a swab test whenever I’ve done a normal STD checkup.

On that note, my smear in Feb came back saying I had HPV which caused a rather large argument between my partner and myself as he didn’t realise how common it was or how easily it was transmitted. (As common as a cold, over 80% of people will have it, and transmittable even with condoms, etc.) I did a lot of research on it as soon as I received the letter, and spoke to my GP about it who wasn’t worried and said to just go back for another smear in about a year. There’s a history of cervical cancer in my family (as well as just cancer in general….it’s actually scary AF) so I’m a little concerned, but was assured that if anything changes with the cells then one year is enough time to pick it up and it won’t be “too late”.

Just wanted to share in case anyone else receives the HPV diagnosis and is worried!

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/06/2021 07:28

@thislittlebird our surgery isn't that big but there's two/three receptionists so you get a good chance of getting the ok or the nice one lol

@selina37 I would maybe speak to your go about it and see what they suggest, are you taking 50mg?

@ImpatientTTCer that is good to know about the hpv! It would be good if they'd manage to develop the vaccine for that so it could be given to everyone rather than just teenagers that haven't been active yet!

selina37 · 24/06/2021 10:31

Initially I took 50mg which worked well, then not so I've been taking 100mg. I spoke to a doctor who said you only use what you need and your body flushes out the rest.

To be honest though, I've felt rubbish now for a couple of months, really tired and I've gained weight, quite quickly, without really changing anything else.

I forgot to take it a couple of days in a row, so I'm quite sure this is the reason for my bleed now.

In all honesty, I think I'm going to put B6 to the back of the cupboard for a while.

I'll see how it goes and if necessary, go back to 50mg in the LP only!
