@02Carol
When you mentioned it's really really high - are u also lactating and having ovulation cramps?

My doc asked me that when he reviewed my prolactin level coz it was elevated. I took my test really early in the morning (which according to Google you should only do it like 4 hours after you wake up).

AnxiousWannabe · 17/06/2021 21:31

There's drugs to regulate that too. Fingers x.
My oh and I have a very rocky relationship too ..years of issues then triggered by TTC stress. It's just .....tough.

Best of luck @02Carol
Deep breath and no matter what find a way to relax - stress impacts prolactin too.

Plus it doesn't mean you are infertile it may just mean it's a little bumpy

02Carol · 17/06/2021 22:09

@AnxiousWannabe thank you.

Yeah bad cramps, headaches, vision is getting a bit funny and not full lactating, which is like nature kicking you when your down, hey look what we can do, but you don't need this as there's no baby! But if I squeeze my boobs, TMI, sorry ladies, I get fluid.

Thanks for letting me rant. Don't really talk about it elsewhere.
Just know how some of you ladies are feeling when another month passes and the path is no clearer or easier x

AnxiousWannabe · 17/06/2021 23:25

@02Carol
Horrible question to ask but did you do a hpt to ensure you are not pregnant? Highlighting just in case as u mentioned you have an MRI planned

Farfaraway1 · 18/06/2021 06:19

Hi ladies. I’m not very experienced in ovulation tests but would you be disappointed if you got only a very faint second line at CD12? I was expecting something a little darker. Does it look like I won’t ovulate this cycle? I’ve got 3 more tests which I plan to do once a day over the next 3 days. My cycle is generally around 28 days. Just a bit disappointed I guess especially as a close colleague of mine has just found out she’s pregnant and they weren’t even trying, more like actively NOT trying.. 😔

Loladoodle · 18/06/2021 08:05

@Farfaraway1 try not to worry, my surge comes very quickly after being faint for a couple of days goes from faint to very dark in a day. I have a 25-26 day cycle (usually) and get pos opk cd 11 or cd 12

Loladoodle · 18/06/2021 08:06

…. Although I’m on cycle 17 so my clockwork ovulation isn’t exactly working for me 😅

GuessHowMuch · 18/06/2021 08:12

I’m the same as @Loladoodle, @Farfaraway1, I’ve usually got a 26 day cycle and my tests are really faint and then they darken super quickly. If you’re only testing once a day and you have a quick surge you might miss it. What time are you doing the tests? I usually see me rise starting from mid-afternoon.

GuessHowMuch · 18/06/2021 08:15

Hope everything goes ok with your scan @02Carol; it must be a really worrying and upsetting time. Have you got someone to talk to in real life, especially if you’re having a tough time with your other half?

4 DPO and I’ve given all my cheap test strips to DH to hide. There’s no way I’m shining lights on tests searching for squinters like a crazy lady this cycle!

Geriatric1234 · 18/06/2021 08:37

@02Carol Oh that’s so stressful :-( Ttc is stressful enough without other medical issues or disagreements with someone you’re supposed to be intimate with. Urgh. Hope it’s a blip and all is well soon. Xxx

@Farfaraway1 I use CB digitals as I like to use FMU and find smiley faces easier than interpreting line darkness. Never figured out those lines…! 🤣 I usually surge straight from zero to peak (static smiley face). I’ve got a positive today (CD 10) so will check on normal test later (to confirm peak) but that probably means I’ll ovulate tomorrow. I think the only way you can confirm no ovulation is temping. Xx

Farfaraway1 · 18/06/2021 09:31

Thanks @GuessHowMuch @Loladoodle and @Geriatric1234. That’s reassuring to hear that it can change so very quickly. ☺️
I’m testing mid afternoons, I know I should be testing more often and could well miss the surge. I think once I’ve used the last 3 ovulation tests I have I’m not going to buy any more - it’s just stressing me out too much.. stressing that I’m not ovulating then stressing I don’t have a shot at getting pregnant - such a catch 22. Relax they say, try not to worry about it, they say. Yea right! 😂🤪

AnxiousWannabe · 18/06/2021 14:51

Dpo11 and bfn. Kinda prepped for it but sigh. This is hard.

AnxiousWannabe · 18/06/2021 14:52

@Farfaraway1
Perhaps you are already using it, but cheapies are handy when you want to test multiple times.

ElsieG3m · 18/06/2021 15:19

@Farfaraway1 don't worry. I have a fairly regular 28 day cycle and don't Ov until day 18/19 so maybe you haven't neared Ov yet. My window is v brief and I'm lucky to catch it on OPKs. Maybe have a look at CM as an indicator. Lots of luck x

ElsieG3m · 18/06/2021 15:20

@AnxiousWannabe sorry about the negative test 😢 but maybe you're a bit early. And if not then you have a plan to look forward to. Sending heaps of luck your way x

AnxiousWannabe · 18/06/2021 16:06

Thanks @ElsieG3m

I know I asked this before but wanna try asking again. Has anyone tried letrozole and also did a hycosy within the same cycle ?

Or any bad side effects with hycosy ? Did that delay ovulation by any chance ?

Yas34 · 18/06/2021 16:20

@02Carol I’m having similar hormone issues as you. High prolactin levels which are being managed through medication. My ovulation window improved significantly, so it gives me hope.

Of our 4 TTC cycles, only the last two had ‘normal’ fertility windows.

I’m currently on cycle 4 and 9DPO. If things don’t go to plan the next few months, we plan to speak to our GP, get examined and go for IVF.

thislittlebird · 18/06/2021 17:00

Sorry you’re having to go through all that @02Carol, sounds stressful to say the least.

@AnxiousWannabe ovulation seems to be normal for me so far, I can’t be sure but I have EWCM on schedule so I doubt the hycosy did that.

02Carol · 19/06/2021 17:28

@Yas34 That sounds positive, also like you are being well looked after too.

I've looked into the different medication which might be offered depending on my MRI results, only issue is my body really doesn't ready well with anything chemical, especially when it comes to anything that interferes with my hormones.

Which is why a lot is riding on these results.

I did a HPT to rule that out if by some miracle it was positive, but it is a BPN.

Hope everyone is the TWW gets good news this month.

AnxiousWannabe · 19/06/2021 18:49

So my fertility clinic gave me a prescription without signing it properly and the pharmacy refused to prescribe it without talking to them.

I probably complain about my fertility clinic often enough. So my first consultation was awkward but guess you ladies told me they were not overly pushy. Then with this letrozole prescription...

I'm tempted to switch back to care Sheffield but my oh reminded me the reason why we switch is because the hfea rate of this clinic is higher. The admin team may suck but the success rate speaks for itself.

I just wanna rant coz ttc is frustrating enough for me and this cold doctor and prescription kerfuffle just don't inspire confidence lol.

Rant over

@02Carol
Good luck with your MRI results. Whatever it is, take care of yourself first. Fertility is secondary when it comes to your own health

02Carol · 19/06/2021 19:49

@AnxiousWannabe very true. Thank you.

How frustrating and stressful, as if everything your going through isn't challenging enough, without delays due to people's mistakes. Rant away, you've every reason too. But hopefully the outcome will outweigh the process xx

Magnum99 · 19/06/2021 20:53

Hope everyone is ok.
I think I'm due to OV today or tomorrow but I'm still an anxious mess after the CP last month, I'm just not feeling in the mood for DTD right now. But I read that you're likely to be more fertile after a CP, anyone know if that's true?
I'm not sure I'm emotionally strong enough to deal with another loss right now but I don't want to miss the chance of conceiving.
Do I just have a few Prosecco's and get on with it? I've had a bath & shaved my legs so I'm

Magnum99 · 19/06/2021 20:53

Clicked post too soon.
WWYD? Just go for it or have a month off?

ElsieG3m · 19/06/2021 21:11

@Magnum99 def more fertile for 3-6 months after a MC but don't if you feel like you're just going through the motions. Could be a bit like a party you're not in the mood for but have a good time when you get there??!! Xx

Very true, I don't have a huge sex drive at the best of times but when I do make the effort I do usually end up feeling like I'm glad I turned up to the party and I should probably go to parties more often 🤣
