I’ve probably managed to @ some completely other account there, sorry to that person. 😬

Misty84 · 08/06/2021 12:32

When I was younger I always wanted girl, boy, girl, like my mum had.
But now I obviously would just feel blessed with anything!!!! I’ve already accepted that 3 children is highly unlikely and I am just praying for 1! 1 little baby of any sex! 🙏

thislittlebird · 08/06/2021 12:40

@Misty84 same. I would have liked two at most probably but I’ll be happy with one now, and I always wanted at a girl if I’m honest but I certainly am not worrying about it at this stage.

Marvellouslymadmum · 08/06/2021 17:39

I'm with you ladies, we would looove a girl as I have one of each and my partner has two boys, in fact his sister had two boys as well so no girls on their side at all! But We will be happy whatever we get if we eventually get one!

notyetamumbuttrying · 08/06/2021 17:48

We wanted two too initially but now would be more than happy with just one if ivf works for us 🤞🏾I'd like a girl and I reckon Dh would like a boy but obvs would both be happy with either! Just to get one baby would be wonderful right about now!

AnxiousWannabe · 08/06/2021 17:51

Just a normal baby would do!

notyetamumbuttrying · 08/06/2021 20:20

@AnxiousWannabe I don't think we're even asking too much 😆

Magnum99 · 08/06/2021 20:47

Definitely not asking too much, you ladies will all make amazing mummies and you'll love your babies even more because of what you've been through to get them.

I would prefer a baby girl but only because my son and DH's son both have autism and ADHD, although that may have possibly come from their other parents (my ex & DH's ex) but I just feel like a boy would be more likely to have issues than a girl. We discussed this before deciding to start TTC, and decided well if we do have another child with SEN then at least they will have two big brothers who can help them and a mum and dad who 'get it', baby would be lucky to have us as their parents and we'll love them unconditionally.
Myself and DH have one child together and she's amazing, happy, healthy, bright and so well behaved so just because we have other children with SEN doesn't mean that it's bound to happen again.

@ElsieG3m I started by doing a course with a mindfulness expert; it was a few years ago and I don’t remember loads. The main thing was to focus on ‘the breath’ - so tune your mind into your breathing, how it feels, where it goes into your lungs, your chest rising and falling etc. You don’t change your breathing and ‘the breath’ isn’t special - it’s just something to focus your mind on. While you’re concentrating on the here and now experience of the breath, when your mind wanders, you just acknowledge that you’ve had a thought and refocus in on ‘the breath’. Over time, it becomes easier to refocus in. There’s a greater awareness that the thoughts you think aren’t you, aren’t necessarily true or meaningful and by practising the refocus on the breath you can choose which thoughts to engage with.

So for example, by doing the practice for ten minutes or so every day, when you start to have a panic that IVF or TTC will never work and there must be a problem of some kind, it’s easier to say to yourself that that isn’t a true or helpful thought at the moment, refocus in on breathing and keep a healthier frame of mind. I think that’s the theory at least and I’ve probably scrambled it 😅There’s so much online and in books; I would reeeeally recommend it!

Where is everyone up to? I’ve decided I definitely do want to keep TTC and I’m using Clearblue ovulation tests this month. I’m on CD 7 after a CP last month and I got a flashing smiley today. I thought maybe the CP would mess up ovulation this cycle so not sure. Hope everyone is doing ok!

AnxiousWannabe · 08/06/2021 21:08

@GuessHowMuch
I'm not sure if it's because I monitor my ovulation a lot closer now but I found out in the last two cycles I get two lh surges. Bbt doesn't always work for me coz I wake up in the middle of the night and toss and turn etc.

So perhaps couple that with cheapie or whatever and make sure you temp to catch the ovulation

Misty84 · 08/06/2021 21:16

Ah I really like your post about breathing @GuessHowMuch, thank you for sharing 🌸

ElsieG3m · 09/06/2021 14:58

@GuessHowMuch that's so helpful, thank you! CD13 here with just blank circles on CB so far but I have very very diluted urine so never know if that's an issue. Does anyone else have that problem? Weirdly the first month of using CB OPKs I had loads of flashing days before peak. Nothing much last cycle and nothing so far this month (though I ovulate around day 19/20 I think). x

AnxiousWannabe · 09/06/2021 16:37

@ElsieG3m
In general I think they said to use urine in the afternoon coz lh surges from mid morning.

That being said the fancy ovulation tracker I got when I was depressed required first morning urine.

I think you may wanna either (1) not drink for two hours then test or (2) hold your pee for four hours before you test ..

Clearblue is pricier - so I tend to use cheapie in the morning then afternoon. If it's darker than I test again using clearblue lol. The over testing makes me more stressed though

ElsieG3m · 09/06/2021 16:43

@AnxiousWannabe thanks! yeah that's the trouble - I drink constantly to ward off migraines and pee every hour or so. But that said the first month it worked fine and picked up my surge...I'm not aware that I was drinking less but maybe I was because it wasn't as hot?! We are dtd every couple of days anyway so guess I'll just stick with that. And I've started up bbt again as well. Have a vague sex drive this month (not usual for me!) so at least that's something! 😂

@Magnum99 @VixFromThe6ix totally get what you are saying Re mums I'm 41 and already have 2 children far apart in age but although she talks about how much she loves them she recently made a comment saying how I am absolutely not having any more children and when I said "why not, who said that" she stated it was ridiculous and bonkers and to not be so silly, needless to say I didn't tell her when I found out I was pregnant nor have I shared with her my recent mc - the only time I'll share is when with any luck I have success again and get past the 12 week mark - I feel for you and totally get it - we are grown women for gods sake

This is what I am talking about... We are grown women that will make our own decisions. I just wish we didn't have to hear these kinds of comments.
With that said, sorry about your mc and I am sending you tons of baby dust and hope you get your sticky bean soon 💕

Henslovetoscratch · 10/06/2021 08:38

Hi everyone, so much happening on this thread. Sending positive vibes to everyone regarding their own journey and situation, we have got this! 💪
No news here, CD25, no OPKs used as ran out and had my vaccine this month too so not expecting much tbh. Where is everyone else in their cycle? X

Misty84 · 10/06/2021 09:52

Hi again @Henslovetoscratch 👋🏻
I’m in the TWW but not sure where exactly as my ovulation day wasn’t clear this cycle!
Full of hope as I always am 🤪
Thanks for the positive vibes!🙌

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2021 10:04

@Henslovetoscratch hiya! I'm 4days past my embryo transfer so chomping at the bit to test next week! 😬

Farfaraway1 · 10/06/2021 10:06

Hi @Henslovetoscratch 👋 CD4 here - time already passing by slowly 😂 good news about your vaccine. Fingers crossed for you and you too @Misty84 this cycle xx

Henslovetoscratch · 10/06/2021 10:19

Nice to hear from you!
Wow best of luck @notyetamumbuttrying, so exciting. Hope you are keeping busy and taking mind off the wait!!!
Hi again @Misty84! Glad you are full of cheer and best of luck in the TWW!!
I agree @Farfaraway1, the days go sooooooo slowly! Good luck this cycle too and nearly time to get your moves on I guess! 💃

Misty84 · 10/06/2021 10:45

Thanks @Farfaraway1! Yes it’s sooo long to wait isn’t it! Drives me slightly bonkers!

@notyetamumbuttrying So exciting about your embryo transfer especially as best grading!! On what day do you plan to test?

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2021 10:53

@Henslovetoscratch thank you 😊 annoyingly work is quite quiet so the days are dragging! 😩
@Misty84 I feel the pressure tho! Everything's been set up for this to work so if it doesn't it'll be crushing! 🥺 I'm gonna test on Tuesday. Glad you're full of hope this cycle, I guess you'll wait to be late before testing?

thislittlebird · 10/06/2021 11:55

I’m also sick of waiting right now @Misty84. Not for tww but for more test results Hmm. Husband’s comet test had to be sent off to Belfast, must be where they do it. My hycosy is next week. Probably three more weeks until we can have a plan 😩

I can’t even imagine how much I’d be losing it in your shoes right now @notyetamumbuttrying lol
