Congratulations Shazza

I used a CBDM for 2 months and now I'm happy to say I am 7 weeks pregnant. Thought I was the typical and dtd around day 14, but discovered I was ovulating back on CD 10/11. That happened both months I was using the monitor and like I said, I am now pg.
Best of luck
LLxx

ladylush · 14/11/2007 09:26

GGG - it's not that old. There, said it. I am 36 in January so I refuse to believe it's old!

psml at the cats watching My cat has watched us before. I find it a bit unnerving at times. Especially when there's a quiet moment and I can hear her cleaning herself (she's slipped in the room and we didn't notice).

libralady · 14/11/2007 09:28

BTW I'm 38 and I don't class that as OLD!!!!

ladylush · 14/11/2007 09:28

I got LH surge today bang on CD14.

Shazza2002 · 14/11/2007 09:37

Thanks libralady. It's amazing, that little egg on the monitor makes you feel like you've actually achieved something. I had problems on the pill with lack of periods and stuff and doctor thought it was early menopause, thankfully it wasn't, but of course it's always been in the back of my mind. So to just know I'm OV is great, I know it's only the start and who's to say I'll even fall PG again but feeling very happy today Also, I also expected to OV around CD14 as most do, so to find out it's actually CD18/CD19 is interesting. Although could be different each month I know.

libralady · 14/11/2007 09:37

Way to go Ladylush, No prizes for guessing what you'll be doing later on

libralady · 14/11/2007 09:38

Go for it Shazza

Shazza2002 · 14/11/2007 09:38

ladylush Well we know what we're going to be upto tonight.

ladylush and shazza officially excused from MN tonight

madoldbird · 14/11/2007 10:01

Morning all!!

Sorry to all those who have had TEW visit. She will be leaving here in the next day or so, and i will lock her in the cupboard under the stairs on her way out so she can't get to anybody else!

Am a bit worried about the rock climbing. Is it compulsory?! Will i have to leave the thread for non-participation???? Having said that, i too have 3 cats, so hopefully you will let me stay as i qualify in that respect

It's really reassuring to hear the age confessions! I am 37 and have been panicking that i am "past it" as far as ttc in concerned. I'm glad to hears there's lots of others around the same age.

Have a good day everyone.

GreenGlassGoblin · 14/11/2007 10:07

hi again all, and thank you for all the helpful age-related comments. I'm feeling very old today as DS was up half the night again - when oh when will that child learn to sleep through (the answer is 'never', btw). Am very interested in all this ov monitoring - may have to go and get an OPK today
cricri sorry about the BFN and shazza congrats on hatching that egg!

PS I used to like playing at rock climbing - am considering making an indoor wall for DS once he is big enough!

Bucky2007 · 14/11/2007 10:10

I am 35, 36 next May. So there are loads of us in our thirties.

Um, do we have to 'look at Cherie Blair' though as our role model . pmsl.

shazza me ole cycle buddy, hooray for getting the peak!! Maybe I'll get mine today? Temps don't go up until the day after ov and mine was very low today.

Have lots of work to do and haven't done any since I got into the office this morning - ooops!

Shazza2002 · 14/11/2007 10:51

Thanks DG I really hope so too. Would be good then we could test together too . Any other signs from you?

I had pains Mon/Tues and really tender nips. But no EWCM or much CM come to think of it. So I'll be making a note of that

digitalgirl · 14/11/2007 10:58

No symptoms here, other than EWCM last night, but I usually get sore nips around Ov and have always mistaken them for PG symptoms as I've ov'ed really late the last two cycles.

Shazza2002 · 14/11/2007 11:10

dg Have you used any OPK's before? It's just without that this month I wouldn't have a clue when I OV (I know you are considerably more cleverer than me on this TTC lark) but at least this month I can put things right in my mind. I had pains CD9/CD10 and was convinced they were OV pains, now I know they weren't. I had EWCM on CD12, again adding the 2 together convinced me I'd already OV, and just thought the monitor had not picked it up. So had I been giong by symptoms then I would have missed the boat. So tell me to pee off if you like, just hope it helps

i know the feeling anniemac but try and stay positive.. i'm off to have some reflexology today to try and see if i can get my cycles a bit more regulated au natural!!!

Not sure what i am going to do if we keep failing in our quest to concieve.. dh is adamant that we will not investigate if it doesn't happen....

you have got to think positive anniemac, but as i am on cycle 11 i know exactly how you feel... i just presumed that it would take a couple of months and bang pregnant!! I feel like it is taking over my life, my dh thinks that i am totally obsessed to the point that we are starting to argue a little over it... i just cannot help it though like you...

Having said all that your AF is not here yet, so there is always an element of hope, so hears a big HOPE HUG to you

digitalgirl · 14/11/2007 11:35

AM and Sarah* TTC'ing can drive a woman crazy. I've heard good things about reflexology, fingers crossed it does the trick.

shazza I tried opk's last cycle, and believe it or not I got a false positive. Was using CBDs and got a smiley face on CD20, but didn't actually ov till CD35. I know this because AF turned up after CD50. So definitely didn't ov on CD21.
So this cycle I'm staying well away from opks and just charting my temperature, it's the only way I'll know for sure if I've ovulated. Once my temp goes up past 35.5 degrees (which was my post-OV/pre-AF minimum temp last cycle) and stays there for 3 days in a row I'll know I ov'ed the day before the temp rise.

FoghornLeghorn · 14/11/2007 11:38

Morning all,
Congrats on your peak shazza and glad your scan went well Anniemac .

DD2 has gone down with gastroentoritis - we ended up in the hospital with her - sick 11 times in the space of 4 hours, was keeping absolutely nothing down. She's now managing half strength milk and bland foods so hopefully coming out the other side now.
