glastochick BFNs are sooooo rubbish, I hate them more than I hate AF. I really hope you tested too early [hopeful emotican]

I got a BFN yesterday, but my temp has gone up today so after convincing myself that this month is out that glimmer of hope has returned.

glastochick · 04/12/2007 11:41

Thanks dg. I hope you're right .

I feel kinda silly because it probably was too early, but I'd managed to convince myself it was possible I'd get a BFP after all my symptoms. Never had spotting before which is kinda wierd.

Will give it a few more days and if no AF by the weekend will test again.

kirstygem · 04/12/2007 12:17

Big congratulations to Sarah.
Stuck in boring AF week which always very depressing. Worked out my next day to test will be Hogmany which will either be a great new year present or a reason to get very very drunk on new years eve.
Are other people laying off the wine over festive period while TTC?

MissusHoHoHo · 04/12/2007 12:28

Hi kirsty - AF will be gone before you know it!!

I'm not sure what to do about drinks - I'm at a freebie works do on Saturday where everything is charged to the company...

I will be smack bang in the middle of the 2ww - do I drink or not????

FoghornLeghorn · 04/12/2007 13:08

Congrats Sarah

Sorry not been around much - found myself getting way too sucked in to this ttc lark, I was making such a big deal over symptom spotting etc I decided to pull myself away.
CD 40 today and still no sign of AF, am waiting for AF now as know I am defo not pregnant, too many tests say so.

Holly78 · 04/12/2007 13:34

Thanks girls, sorry yes ttc #3 . x

Excitable · 04/12/2007 13:36

I am still trying to give up the booze and failing dismally to even cut down - I'm just too excitable!! I'm still beating myself up that last month might have been a chemical pregnancy that I messed up by getting slaughtered. If it was, then I was only pregnant for 2/3 days, so it's quite unlikely, but the point is that I meant to drink perhaps a glass or two of wine and I drank TONS! I've got to reign myself in, it's really no good.

AF is due on 21st if it's going to be 28 days like my first two cycles, or 5th January if it's like my last cycle, or something completely different just to confuse me. I think I may claim to be trying to lose weight. It's not really a claim. I need to be thinner than this. I'm growing out of my pants... probably because I drink too much. And eat too much at work - I have a very boring job in a stressful place. There's quite a lot of crying where I work.

Sorry Sarah meant to say I'm really happy for you - take us with you in your pocket when you go to the doctors and we can hold your hand! We're all really tiny in the virtual world.

sarahnh · 04/12/2007 14:45

thanks everyone it still feel very strange...

I haven't graduated to the august club yet as i am still in shock and its very early!!! so i will be checking in and out for a while yet!!xxx

Kirsty, I'm not too sure what to do about drinks either. I've been very good all of last week but tomorrow and Friday I have two huge parties to go to, then it's the Clan gathering on Saturday and that's always a boozy affair. If AF arrives by then I won't have a problem, but I'm really hoping she won't and I'll have to pretend I'm drinking vodka with my orange [little devil emoticon].

As for Christmas and NYE, if my AF arrives this weekend then there will be plenty of BD'ing over Xmas week but NYE will be the start of my 2WW. Not sure yet what to do. Find it very difficult to moderate myself on NYE

twinklingfairy · 04/12/2007 15:29

You could always drink one aclkyhol ad one soft throughout the night?
Keeps you rather sober but means you can get a few in as well.
I have agreed to be driver for NYE this year, so thats me out of the running anyway. DH drove last year, cos he was on call the next day anyway, so it is my turn.
Obviously, when I agreed to this, I thought I would be pregnant by NYE. That seems so unlikely now, but there you go.
Tyring to be negative about it all this month, so I am not to disappointed. (don't be fooled, I am bubbling with excitment inside)

glastochick · 04/12/2007 17:31

You never know twinkling, you could be PG by NYE

I like the idea of alternating drinks. Will probably be nominated driver. Haven't decided what we're doing yet but we could be trekking halfway across the country if past years are anything to go by, but money is too tight to book a hotel.

Feel the need to stay closer to home this year though. Most unlike me

hopefully · 04/12/2007 20:12

Ooh, not drinking on NYE, the thought hadn't really occurred to me! Thankfully I'm such a lightweight drinker no one will notice if I don't. Although saying that, NYE is right at the very tail end of what will be my very first 2ww (I am so not looking forward to it!), so doubtless I'll get impatient and test before the drinking becomes any kind of issue. I can so see me going bankrupt on tests extremely quickly, despite all my promises to myself.

In other news, I have just invited my sister to live with us for a couple of months in the new year, and she has accepted. In my burst of generosity, it didn't occur to me that me and dp will now need to do our bd-ing in absolute silence (TMI, sorry). how is this to be achieved?! I felt sorry for her because she's coming back from travelling and has literally nowhere to stay. Hopefully the karma points will mean I get pg this time round (yeah right, on my first month trying) and not have to worry!

Excitable/glastochick et al, just hold on to the 'no shared blood supply for 6 weeks' thought if you slip up and have a drink or two (or more) - I'm sure it'll be fine!

digitalgirl · 04/12/2007 20:24

hopefully me and DH started TTC in Aug, then sis came back from holiday - homeless, so she's been with us since September. She's not always around (goes out, works late or stays at boyf's), but when she is we have to be quiet..., i'm sure this is how people have baby#2!

Excitable · 04/12/2007 21:22

REALLY DG? We were notorious for being rubbish at being quiet in our student days - especially me Just about everyone we knew at that time had heard us at one time or another. I really worry about trying for #2, not that I have #1 yet, as I've never had to do it quietly. Maybe I'll reach a whole new level and sex will be even better

Thanks hopefully for the advice to cling to - I think I might be desperately clinging to that for quite a while!

OMG what must you all think of this boozy girl who can't have quiet sex? I don't exactly sound like Mother material, do I? Oh well, there's nothing wrong with knowing how to have fun, right?

Bucky2007 · 04/12/2007 21:26

Well if everyone is anything like me...all the cutting down on drink will have made you a lightweight anyway. I had three (albeit super strong) gin and tonics last night and I literally couldn't walk in a straight line . I am not at all proud of this I should add...I got a bit carried away with the evening. My point is, that if you have been reducing your intake your tolerance will have dropped so not much drinking will be required!!

It is difficult though, I am thinking of pretending my orange juice has something alcoholic in it ...or having lime and soda and saying its vodka lime and soda...Will karma get me for lying?? .

Holly are you the same Holly that is on the waiting list?

Holly78 · 04/12/2007 22:04

Yes bucky it's me i don't know what happened with the name......

Bucky2007 · 04/12/2007 22:21

So shall I take you off the 'waiting' list now that you are on the 'ttc' list in the middle of your cycle?

sorry shazza really wasn't telling you off. i'm worried that i sent you off with tail between legs and i really didn't mean that at all, but realise that the typed thought doesn't always read in the manner in which it is intended
