Toot toot. Thanks for sorting the bus.

I’m still waiting on CD1. So not much change for me. Sad

crazycatlady1981 · 22/03/2021 14:42

@Aimzie mine goes up in steps sometimes! I think it means you’ve still ovulated, it just can be a bit of a slow rise. Some people seems to have temps that just shoot up straight away! I use ovusense now, which is a vaginal thermometer and it’s much easier to see the temp rise than with oral thermometer (pricier though 😒)

Welcome @GlassLily @Kitte321and @PenelopeTitstop 😊 this is a lovely group to join!

crazycatlady1981 · 22/03/2021 14:46

@Crazydoglady123 oh crikey!! Do you know when you are due to ovulate from the scan? Will you still be able to start ivf this month? 😕

Annny27 · 22/03/2021 15:09

@crazydoglady123 have they said how this might impact ivf? I guess they may have to do frozen transfer only if you are over stimulated- I cant remember the medical term for it ohss I think!

Annny27 · 22/03/2021 15:10

Also I will be taking it easy on the forjms this month as csnt try this cycle due to my hycosy later on the month after ovulation :) so will be checking in from time to time xx

Crazydoglady123 · 22/03/2021 15:30

@crazycatlady1981 she didn't say but having pains over the weekend in both and my left ovary today feels like I've got a stitch or trapped wind kind of pain left side of my abdomen. Every time I take a deep breath I can or tense I can really feel it 🥺 @Annny27 I haven't started my IVF cycle yet but apparently the down regs I'm due to start next Thursday will calm everything down so just waiting to hear back from my private consultant once he's seen today's scan to make sure all okay. OHSS usually onset's a few days after ovulation

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/03/2021 15:49

@Kitte321 do you mean about the amh? When I was told the result the nurse said "normal" but I was still 34 then so it's far from normal. I had the afc booked in privately a week later so when I was told that was 12 she then told me that they should correlate so wanted to redo the Amh herself. I was going to go ahead and pay the £110 for it privately but then got that appointment date through with the nhs so decided to wait. I'll ask them to redo it and tell them I had the afc privately and it was 12 and it doesn't make any sense. So did your consultant tell you to go off your afc rather than amh yet? Yeah it's much better to feel like you're moving forward than standing still. That's what it was like for me between sept and dec when we were waiting on the fertility referral and for the sperm to improve (which it has now). Thanks for the luck with the lap!
@Crazydoglady123 wow so when do they think you'll ovulate then?
@Yutes are you currently late?

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm feeling good on the stims, no real side effects. Starting to get bloated now though and can feel my ovaries getting bigger, it feels odd!
Yes this is probably closer to a donkey 🐗😂

@Crazydoglady123 oh no! The downregs shut your system down so fingers crossed you can still start soon. On a positive note it should mean you will respond really well to the ivf and get lots of 🥚!

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/03/2021 16:01

@Narwhal88 glad you're feeling good! How much longer stimming before egg retrieval then? Ha glad you agree on the donkey front 😆

thislittlebird · 22/03/2021 16:01

What was tour amh vs afc? @notyetamumbuttrying did they say how close they should be?

My afc was 28 and my AMH was 36 so I assumed it’s a rough correlation.

thislittlebird · 22/03/2021 16:02

@Crazydoglady123 sorry to hear that clomid is giving you trouble again. I’m nervous about when I go in in case I get given it, I won’t lie.

Crazydoglady123 · 22/03/2021 16:03

No idea @notyetamumbuttrying but based on the last Clomid cycle this week. I've just booked to go see my private scan lady on Saturday as I want to keep a close eye this time as to what happens (and I need to know I've ovulated my clutch of eggs before starting my down regs 🙄)

@Narwhal88 I'm really worried as I've been given two trigger shots of Ovatrelle that they don't fully understand how well I stimulate 😬 NHS consultant has sent scan to private IVF clinic so waiting for the IVF clinic to call back and confirm everything's still fine etc. I saw your post on the IVF thread earlier and seems you've responded well to the stims too and going for EC early!

Crazydoglady123 · 22/03/2021 16:04

All I can say from my experience is don't let them give you it without monitoring you with scans @thislittlebird

thislittlebird · 22/03/2021 16:07

Yeah I definitely won’t @Crazydoglady123. I know I have lots of follicles so I will really need monitoring. I imagine I’ll be put on it, or letrozole or whatever. If I have to pay to monitor privately I can do that I if they won’t.

Sorry @notyetamumbuttrying saw your numbers a bit further up there

Crazydoglady123 · 22/03/2021 16:11

@thislittlebird yeah there's lots of independent sonographers. Google pregnancy scans in your area and you'll find they often do fertility scans. I've booked one for this Saturday with my lady and it'll be the first time the OH will be coming in for a scan with me...shame we'll be looking at cysts and not a baby though!

crazycatlady1981 · 22/03/2021 16:16

@Crazydoglady123 Sounds very uncomfortable! Glad you’ll still hopefully be able to start ivf next week! 🤞🏻

@notyetamumbuttrying will be interesting to see what your next AMH is like! I’m sure it can vary day to day! When are you having it redone?

Narwhal88 · 22/03/2021 16:38

@notyetamumbuttrying got another scan on Wednesday and will see if I'm ready to trigger then, so couple more days at least.
@Crazydoglady123 don't worry I'm sure the IVF clinic can check your scan and know what they are doing. Do you need to trigger ovulation from this cycle or is that for the ivf cycle? Yes possibly EC on Friday which is a bit scary! Really hoping I can get a good number of eggs.

Motherofkittens28 · 22/03/2021 16:39

@Narwhal88 that's great news, wonderful that you are responding so well!

Kitte321 · 22/03/2021 16:45

@notyetamumbuttrying just looked back on my portal for the consultation notes. He said follicular activity was moderate (5 one side, 7 on other) and AMH was in the reduced range which indicated low ovarian reserve and low response to stimulation. (Nice!!)
He defo didn’t say that it couldn’t work though - far from it and even with these results gave me c35% chance per cycle. He also said whilst the results give an indication it really is to allow them to plan the correct protocol.
I’ve tortured myself on google about it and read every old mumsnet thread going - some people with low AMH respond okay. Others with higher numbers are low responders - you just have to roll the dice!!!
If this doesn’t work IVF will be the next stop.

Theawkwardblonde · 22/03/2021 17:18

@Kitte321 I have low AMH too (7.4 @29 years old). My consultant seemed to think it would have no affect on conception, just advised it's an indicator to when I'm going to dry up.
Did your consultant advise on likelihood of conception with lower AMH? I'm very curious as everyone has been told different.

@crazycatlady1981 @Marvellouslymadmum @notyetamumbuttrying cheers ladies! Definitely drank too much wine 😂😂 back at work in 12 hours so thought I'd go a bit daft on my 1 day off. Period is very light but it's a bleed so I'm happy!

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/03/2021 17:28

@Crazydoglady123 oh no! I was hoping it wouldn't be so bad for you without the build up in your system 😕 hopefully it won't be as bad at ovulation time this time!

I've been consulting dr google today on lots of different things, just trying to gather more info on anything I can - it's not really helped that much cos everything I read seems to have a conflicting article 😂

Kitte321 · 22/03/2021 17:39

@Theawkwardblonde well differing views! First consultation gave me a 5% chance of natural conception he said based on shorter cycles and DOR. He thought lack of eggs also meant low quality as the lowest quality are left to the end.
Got a second opinion (as I felt his only agenda was IVF) and my other consultant said I had a good chance of natural conception with cycle support (letrozole and progesterone - I have short luteal phase). So no idea. I have been pregnant since that but had a miscarriage. I have a 2 year old.
The whole thing is just a minefield and I honestly feel for anyone trying to navigate it.
I would just hold on to what your consultant has said!

Yutes · 22/03/2021 19:50

@notyetamumbuttrying I guess I am (late) but after norethistorone didn’t work I’m post provera. Just wanting to start letrozole again. I won’t be pregnant because BBT isn’t highly enough

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/03/2021 19:52

@thislittlebird 5.4 Amh and 12afc, the private consultant said they should match, or at least be close...mine doesn't make sense at all! Your numbers are outstanding!! 👏🏾
@Crazydoglady123 are you tempted to dtd to see if one catches?? 😬
@crazycatlady1981 I haven't rebooked it. Hoping the nhs will do it when I go in on the 6th April. I'll tell them I did afc privately and show them the results and ask for a repeat amh then.
@Narwhal88 not too long then! Hope all goes well 😘
@Kitte321 I was 4 one side, 8 the other. I know the Amh is important for knowing what drugs to put you on for ivf but our initial issue was male factor so it's quite disheartening now that natural won't seem to work. He's got better but seemingly I've been forgotten and now realise I'm the issue too 🙈
@Theawkwardblonde that wine sounds well deserved hun!
@Yutes I see, might be worth testing if it doesn't come within a week then.

@notyetamumbuttrying I’m really sorry that things are so complicated. I honestly think that these numbers are just indicative and that it is perfectly possible that IVF will still work for you. I also think that there is every chance you could fall naturally. I’ve seen loads of threads where people with really low AMH (like 0.8 and lower) have got pregnant naturally. That’s why I was so baffled by the first consultation.
