@Narwhal88, yeah, he works in an office and has been travelling to and from Leicester quite a lot the last few weeks so he's reasonably exposed (although he's had the vaccine). I'm breaking the rules slightly as I'm still going for my daily walk, I reason that I pretty much see noone when I'm out so changes are really really slim I'll catch anything, far more likely when I go to the hospital for bloods tomorrow! Its now 4 months to my wedding and I've put on 16lbs since mid December so I really need to exercise so I can lose this weight before the wedding! If I'm not going to be pregnant I at least want to look my best!

Mind if I hop on?
TTC baby #1, been trying since Jan 2020, though we missed a few cycles as things happened that put everything on hold for a few months but back on it!
Currently just started taking pregnacare conception vitamins after last month’s failed attempt x

RobinRose · 19/03/2021 05:57

Morning ladles!

I think I've asked this before but does anyone else suffer with menstrual migraines? Had a migraine since yesturday lunchtime and it's still here! Af due today 😫

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/03/2021 06:15

@lavenderlove hey 👋🏾 welcome! Defo get Dh on the vits, we were heading for icsi as well but his sperm has now improved! He took proxeed plus twice a day, stopped smoking, cut down on the boozing, ate satsumas, exercised. His numbers improved greatly to the point where we might not even need ivf as long as my tubes are clear!
@clolo I understand your anxieties! Perhaps call every week/fortnight for cancellations?
@thislittlebird hey 👋🏾 you're on another bus with me and @Theawkwardblonde 😌 welcome to the infertile donkey train 🚂 🤪
@Motherofkittens28 hey honey, nice to hear from you 😘 I'm having a lap soon too! Do you think you have endometriosis then? Sorry if we've already discussed this, I sometimes get confused with who I've spoken to about it as I'm another bus too.
I had my pre surgery bloods on Wednesday and I wasn't told they do other things too...I got swabbed, blood pressure, weighed, my height etc. Told to expect an appointment in the next two weeks! I wasn't told to distance from Dh though but I don't actually have a surgery date yet. We only have a one bed flat so it'll be impossible for us! What day next week is surgery?
@KatieLooLa sure hop on! Have you started any investigations yet?

So it's my 35th birthday today and I've been awake since 530! I used to enjoy birthdays but this one feels weird. Suppose I thought I'd have a baby by now 🤷🏾‍♀️

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/03/2021 06:16

@RobinRose sounds rough sorry hun! I don't but I've heard that can be sign of endometriosis. Do you have any of the other symptoms like painful periods or sex?

thislittlebird · 19/03/2021 07:06

Thanks for the bus welcome all! Exciting to see some of you are on the ivf train too, am interested to hear more since we are likely heading that way in the coming months.

I do @RobinRose! I’ve had them at varying levels of severity every month for many years, usually cd1 give or take a day, and sometimes get (usually less severe) ovulation migraines too. How long do yours last? Mine are often 24 hours, sometimes less though.

I’ve been struggling with weird periods for the last 6-8 months that weren’t like me, very light and short, and my migraines went off kilter too, it had become a dull headache over days and days with the odd periods. Also found out I have low progesterone (probably ttc stress doing it) which I assume has made everything to a bit weird.

Then I had acupuncture in February and although I can’t say it definitely helped my cycles went back to normal in March my migraine went back to its usual slot too but it was less severe, manageable, nearer to headache. This month is one to watch for me, to see how the cycle pans out.

Crazydoglady123 · 19/03/2021 07:20

Happy Birthday @notyetamumbuttrying 🥳🥳🥳 Hope you have a lovely day and you get spoilt rotten 🎉♥️

@RobinRose I get bad headaches around AF but not migraines. My periods have changed so much during the last couple of years too.

@clolo I think they can fit it in if they're not too busy in the diary. I had both my first consultation and my nurse planning appointment this week and screening today so it can be done.

thislittlebird · 19/03/2021 07:29

Happy birthday @notyetamumbuttrying! I skimmed past earlier, sorry. CakeWineFlowers

I think I’ll feel weird on my birthday too, these time milestones aren’t the most fun Confused. Hope you have a nice day, and make sure you have some cake and wine!

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/03/2021 07:36

@Crazydoglady123 thanks mate!
@thislittlebird thanks, I will do! I think because it's 35 and it's now geriatric mum status Confused

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 19/03/2021 07:43

There’s plenty of us to keep you company in the geriatric donkey gang @notyetamumbuttrying 🙈

RobinRose · 19/03/2021 07:53

@notyetamumbuttrying it's exhausting! Oh I did not know that 🤔 my periods can be really painfull but it varys, sex can be, depending on position. I have a tilted cervix which I think can make it painfull? I did mention to the consultant after one of my scans I thought I might have endo but she completely dismissed my concerns. Ohhhh Happy birthday 🎂🥳!

@thislittlebird sounds the same as me, I get ovulation migraines too! Sometimes they last for a couple of hours, sometimes a day, sometimes longer. This is the worse one I have had in a while actually. I do have tablets I can take but I haven't taken them since ttc so I don't really want to start now! Are you having anymore acupuncture?

@Crazydoglady123 rubbish isn't it?!

crazycatlady1981 · 19/03/2021 07:59

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks for starting the new bus! Happy Birthday!! 🥳🎂🥂

My original aim was to have a baby before my 40th in October, but that’s impossible now so my new aim is to get pregnant before my 40th!! 🤞🏻

Welcome to the new donkeys @KatieLooLa @lavenderlove @thislittlebird

Narwhal88 · 19/03/2021 08:09

@Motherofkittens28 I think leaving the house for exercise is fine. It's not like you have covid, as long as you distance from people.

@notyetamumbuttrying HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🥳 hope you have a lovely day and try not to think about babies, you still have plenty of time and 35 is not old!

@RobinRose I think I have endo too and consultant dismissed me as well. It's like they honestly don't give a shit. You really have to push, I'm going to push for a referral and lap after this ivf cycle.

Tofu35 · 19/03/2021 08:22

@robinrose I used to get migraines before AF, but when I started taking magnesium (as part of the pregnacare multivit) their instances decreased a lot. Sorry if you've already tried magnesium, but found that's worked for me :)

Tofu35 · 19/03/2021 08:25

Ooh happy birthday @notyetamumbuttrying! 🥂🎂

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/03/2021 08:44

Hi @KatieLooLa welcome to the mad bus!

@notyetamumbuttrying happy birthday!! 35 you're just a spring chicken! Hope you have a great day 🥳🎂 if you've reached geriatric donkey stage I must be looking forward to becoming an infertile dodo next week!

@Crazydoglady123 im so impressed with how fast it's all moving for you all of a sudden, are you excited, nervous or both?

@RobinRose I get bad headaches around af but not usually migraines, sometimes they're really bad and last for 3-4 days 😕

KatieLooLa · 19/03/2021 08:48

@notyetamumbuttrying
Haven’t had any tests yet to see why things aren’t happening, probably going to try vitamins for a month or two (he needs to get some now) see if anything happens, if not will make an appointment x

thislittlebird · 19/03/2021 09:13

Oh that’s interesting @Tofu35. I had acupuncture in Feb and then for my last cycle I started taking magnesium alongside B6 after I ovulated. Have to say I wasn’t sure if that could help the migraines, but maybe that’s what did help me last month? I think I’ll take it again this month if my meds can be taken with it.

@RobinRose mine are usually 24 hours like clockwork, but the last one was maybe 4 hours and then I went to sleep and it was gone by the morning. I noticed mine got worse a couple of years ago suddenly, went from just nausea to 2-3 days of sickness and migraine, so much so I thought I had a bug until it happened a second month in a row. Luckily that seems to not have been a thing lately but I’ve never been given anything for them.

Having an acupuncture session again in April, and as already mentioned planning on taking magnesium and b6 again this month if I can (I’m on oral steroids and antibiotics and some supplements can’t be taken with them, like zinc)

kerrym87 · 19/03/2021 09:43

@Narwhal88 it might be a slightly blunt or defective needle if you find it doesn't go in easily just get a new one as otherwise you may not get full dose where it needs to be and it'll hurt less too.

kerrym87 · 19/03/2021 09:45

@notyetamumbuttrying happy birthday! I hated mine this year which I never have before! @Narwhal88 I get bad head once a month when oestrogen started climbing before ovulation

RobinRose · 19/03/2021 09:53

@Narwhal88 it certainly feels that way doesn't it?! I'm going to bring it up at the consultation with the fertility nurse, give up waiting and battling with nhs.

@tofu35 @thislittlebird I have heard about magnesium but not looked into it.... what us be supposed to do?

Aimzie · 19/03/2021 09:57

@notyetamumbuttrying happy birthday beautiful, sending you lots of love & wish this year brings you everything you wish for ❤️🧚‍♀️
After yesterday my DF was so sad he doesn't even want to go for treatment atm, he thinks in his heart il have a baby naturally god love him 😂 I was like have you seen what I've been doing the last 2 years none of this is natural like 😂
Were going to get all our tests done next month anyway because I think the biggest thing for me is not knowing, then I think we're going to wait a while and get the wedding out of the way💔 then he was like I also don't want you being sad I want to give you everything you want 😭 this cycle was to much for us both 💔 maybe need a few more days to think it over and make a decision then, he thinks because of the CP that we have been doing something right, u suppose in a way he is right, something happened for the first time ever so maybe its the start of something, we'll atleast that's what we are telling ourselves anyway, it's very hard to be upset about a CP, if we weren't trying so hard I wouldn't have really known and just got another period 😕 hard one to talk about. Part of me wants to tell my family, mostly because they always ask us when are we going to have a baby, but then I still don't know if I'm ready to tell them about the last 2 years yet 😕
Another month another page, let's hope its a better one ❤️🧚‍♀️

Ttc for what feels like an eternity? Then you've found your bus! No fertile unicorns here, only infertile donkeys!
Tofu35 · 19/03/2021 10:13

@robinrose I'm not sure what the link is between magnesium and menstrual migraines, but i also have migraine meds for when I get an attack but I've definitely felt they have decreased in severity/frequency since I've taken the pregnacare.

It took a while to link the two, but my line manager was singing the praises of milk of magnesium for their migraines and I looked at how much additional magnesium I'm taking now.

Again, it could just be me, and definitely check about dosage etc if you want to give it a go! But I've not had one of those "oh cool, I have a bad visual aura and have lost sight for half an hour" migraines in a long time now.

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/03/2021 10:17

@thislittlebird true 🐗🤣
@RobinRose you should research endo and see what you think. They always dismiss it as it's hard to diagnose. Needs a laparoscopy which is expensive to do. Thanks for the bday wishes 😃
@crazycatlady1981 thank you 😊 hope it happens!!
@Narwhal88 thank you hun, I'm starting to enjoy the day now. Opened my presents and breakfasts being cooked for me so happy now 😆
@Tofu35 thank you 😊 I've heard good things about magnesium too!
@Marvellouslymadmum thanks 😊 infertile dodo 🦤 😂
@KatieLooLa good idea! Best of luck 🤞🏾
@kerrym87 thanks 😊
@Aimzie aww thank you 😊 bless your partner! I've told my family, we're quite close so they knew when I came off the pill 🙈so they've known about the bad sperm, ivf referral, improved sperm etc and it's been nice not having to answer stupid questions. This is just my parents and sisters. No other family know
