We’ve had our Zoom appt this morning with the consultant at the satellite clinic! What a complete waste of time! Didn’t give us any useful information, just went through our questionnaires, repeating our answers to us, then talked through the basic ivf process and said he can’t tell us when we’ll be starting as thats up to Bath Care to decide! 😡 So now we’ve just got to wait again for any numbers of weeks/months, who knows! I was fuming earlier but I’ve been for a walk to calm down and now I feel slightly better. So fed up of this waiting around!

He also said I shouldn’t be taking DHA (omega 3) or Coq10 because they aren’t proven to help but they may hinder things!! Has anyone else’s consultant said not to take them?? I thought they were pretty standard for

@crazycatlady1981 ugh what a waste of time! Completely understand why you're angry the delay is torture.

I called the fertility clinic today to tell them we can't get a SA booking until 2 days after the appointment and the guy on reception just said "err that will be fine". I thought they needed the results for the consultation 😕 but at least it means we keep the early June appointment now. Has anyone else had the first fertility clinic appointment without SA results for them to look at?

@2020mission I've definitely heard of others that have - they don't seem to care, all it might do is delay ivf a bit as you'd need to potentially wait for a second SA to be done before qualifying. I think it just means at the fertility app they'll focus on next steps that can be done on you - eg hsg/blood tests etc.

@crazycatlady1981 how frustrating! This is a fear I have the waiting has been hard enough so far and once your talking ivf and actually speaking to consultants etc you assume you’ll actually make progress! I’d be fuming too. I’ll try not to get my hopes up re anything happening quickly for us then, as irritating as it is it’s the constant disappointment that gets you down... so no expectation may be the way to go. Hope you hear from Bath soon, or can you just contact them?!!

@polejunkie yeah don’t expect anything happening quickly with nhs!! 🙄 Although I do appreciate a free ivf cycle, we’re definitely paying in time rather than cash!
We had our previous appt on 8th March so we had all the final tests done that day so basically were ready to go with ivf as soon as those tests came back! But then had this pointless appt arranged and our next appt is a telephone appt on 27th april with the fertility nurse (who we saw in March) Im hoping she’ll have some helpful info by then. The main issue I have is that when my next cycle starts this weekend, I don’t know if we should try naturally or hold off in case we get to start this month? I don’t want to waste a month not doing anything if ivf isn’t starting! I think I’ll have to email her before fw and see if I can find out what’s happening!

@crazycatlady1981 I agree - lucky to have the funding but time ticks by so quickly! I would definitely contact them and see what they say, don’t miss an opportunity! I’m awaiting info pack so will see what that says and take it from there 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

@crazycatlady1981 went to the pharmacy to pick one up and then the hospital rang and said the courier is on its way 🤦🏾‍♀️ believe it when I see it!
How frustrating with that call! And eek to the coq10, I've just ordered a higher dose! 😖 all mine said was folic acid or pregnancare was enough. He didn't say what not to take though...
@2020mission we had to have the results, very odd! What if he has low sperm? The consultation seems pointless without it IMO.
