@MIW01 I get that, it's frustrating, we were never going to qualify for funding as the cut off is 35 where I live so we've been saving for the ivf for a while. Whilst there are some packages you can do to make it cheaper all involve a full cash payment up front as far as I know, so unless you had the cash it would have to be a bank loan to fund it. It sucks that they don't offer everyone the same chances, it's definitely not equality!

polejunkie · 29/03/2021 18:54

@Motherofkittens28 I’ve been so surprised reading about the different criteria across the different areas I’m genuinely surprised! I mean I’d herd the saying ‘postcode lottery’ before now but the reality is staggering. Some of us luckier than others in the ivf world, I’m lucky in that sense but it goes without saying that in this scenario ‘luck’ would be not needing or having to consider ivf at all... x

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/03/2021 19:09

Does anyone know how to add rhr to any apps? I have flo, clue, glow, Femometer and fertility friend and can't work out how to add it on any of them, so I can track that on the chart too 🤔

2020mission · 29/03/2021 19:14

@Marvellouslymadmum I added RHR to fertility friend as custom data, adding the heart rate in manually every day and then there was an option in the settings to display numeric data as a graph on the chart but it's only available for VIP accounts so it vanished once my free trial ran out. Not sure about the other apps.

Motherofkittens28 · 29/03/2021 19:15

@polejunkie oh i know! If we lived 3 miles down the road we would be in a different county where the age limit is 42! Even my fertility dr said that we should consider moving or pretending I lived with my parents to come under the other county. Its all so unfair, as if it isn't crap enough to need the help in the first place! I considered myself lucky though as I froze some eggs when I turned 35 when I was still single, so I will be turning to those if my second fresh ivf round doesn't work. Hopefully I can do the next round in May and the removal of the endo might have helped! Of course the dream would be to get pregnant naturally in April but as we haven't seen a single hint of a Bfp since we stated in August 2019 that seems unlikely.

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/03/2021 19:15

@2020mission ahh ok I've seen a few people with charts with bbt and rhr so maybe that's it 🤷🏼‍♀️

MIW01 · 29/03/2021 20:47

@Motherofkittens28 thats very sensible you froze your eggs. I'm sorry that your TTC journey hasn't been fruitful. I hope the next time works for you. We did anticipate the age limit and started TTC when I was 32 and they they took so long I turned 35 before I was seen and we then moved area to where age limit is 40 but now it's the hormone levels criteria that I don't meet. We planned that if it didn't happen naturally we would be entitled to funding after checking regulations hence not planning financially for IVF treatment so it's even more a kick in the teeth it's not happened!

Motherofkittens28 · 29/03/2021 21:13

@MIW01 they never seem to do things in time frames they should, you should get referred after a year of trying if you are under 35 and 6 months if over. I contacted my GP after 8 months of trying at 38yrs old and they told me to wait until it had been a year, they just look for any way not to fund you. Definitely complain , can't hurt!

JandL2020 · 29/03/2021 21:57

Love the name for this group, made me laugh! 😂

TTC since 2018. IVF round one last September ended in miscarriage. Now onto second round (FET) soon.

Good luck to everyone on this crappy crappy donkey poo journey xx

Crazydoglady123 · 29/03/2021 21:57

@MIW01 I would massively kick up a stink if it was me. When is your next appointment or when can you next speak to your consultant?

Crazydoglady123 · 29/03/2021 22:00

Yay you've joined @JandL2020

Girls I met @JandL2020 on another thread. She's local to me and having IVF at the same clinic so we exchanged numbers the other day and been chatting since! So nice to be able to make friends on this (as she said) "donkey poo journey" 💕

2020mission · 29/03/2021 22:04

Welcome @JandL2020 👋 fingers crossed for the next round!

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/03/2021 23:07

Hi @JandL2020 and welcome! Hope everything goes well for your next round of ivf

MIW01 · 29/03/2021 23:23

Welcome @JandL2020 fingers cross second time lucky for IVF

@Motherofkittens28 I'm not the only q that's been screwed unfortunately. Hearing about it everywhere now

@Crazydoglady123 I'm getting another blood test for FSH on 16th April for FSH and depending on results I will either be accepted or rejected by the specialist fertility GP in the area.

Ashleighz88 · 29/03/2021 23:58

@MIW01 I'm so sorry this has happened, honestly from the start of the process the nhs has been hard work and incompetent, fertility struggles are hard enough without these failings. I know we should be "grateful" for the nhs but honestly I think they do more harm than good sometimes. I could go on and on about the failings I've had, and some friends that went through it on the nhs too. I hope you get somewhere with your complaint and hopefully you can reach a plan somehow. ❤️

@Aimzie thank you, and you. Sometimes I feel like all this isn't really happening 🤯

@Crazydoglady123 ah we are similar then, I feel a different person now to the pre TTC me in 2018 😭 I am wishing you so much luck for the IVF 🍀

@Narwhal88 thank you, and also sending you luck for Wednesday🍀🤞🏻

@JandL2020 welcome, I'm new here too. So sorry you went through a miscarriage that must have been hard ❤️ good you are into the next cycle soon though. Do you have a date?

Girls that have already got their date or starting IVF, how long was it between repeating all tests with the fertility clinic and the appointment to discuss results/next steps (which I assume is IVF). I've been waiting since 19th of Jan 🙄

Crazydoglady123 · 30/03/2021 07:05

@Ashleighz88 me too! Re the IVF I had my AFC & AMH on the 9th March, first consultation on 16th March which was told can start on this cycle as I was CD6. Then had my planning appointment on 18th March to learn how to take injections, next day had our screening and medication arrived 23rd ready to start tomorrow CD21 so for me, really fast!

@MIW01 everything crossed for you 🤞

JandL2020 · 30/03/2021 08:24

@Ashleighz88 I know what you mean about how you feel different before you TTC. Some of the old me has come back recently but it’s rare glimmers and I just feel sad a lot of the time.

I didn’t have to repeat most tests last year due to already having done tests at another clinic which they accepted. I think they repeated scan and oh sperm analysis. I think I started process in June, and took a break in July and started everything in august - transfer was mid September. This time around for FET, clinic said they were booking in March for May transfers. My clinic don’t have a waiting list as such as it’s not attached to nhs - although I sense they are busy due to knock on effect of covid and nhs delays.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I will try and catch up with everyone’s posts soon xx

Crazydoglady123 · 30/03/2021 09:00

@notyetamumbuttrying how you doing chick? You feeling a bit better? Not long now till your appointment

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/03/2021 10:25

How's everyone's tuesday? I'm off to h & b for some more pregnacare today, feel Like I may aswell start buying them in bulk! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

notyetamumbuttrying · 30/03/2021 10:28

@Crazydoglady123 I'm ok thanks. Had a weird period, lighter and shorter and got really down yesterday. I'm usually upbeat when it's coming to an end, no idea what's up with me! Sleeping badly again too, I guess I'm trying to squash my anxt over whats coming up, not really sure 🤷🏾‍♀️
But you're right, it's not long now and hopefully I'll start to feel better as we'll have timelines etc. Hate being in limbo just waiting n waiting! How are those eggs of yours? Do you reckon you've ovulated or u waiting to be given drugs tomorrow? X

Annny27 · 30/03/2021 12:09

Afternoon everyone! I am about 1dpo, gonna try keep distracted and stop googling stuff like "period has arrived, negative test, am I pregnant" 🙈😂😂😂

@notyetamumbuttrying we all get down days throughout the cycle, this journey is shit :(

@aimzie are you trying this month or waiting for period?

@narwhal88 any updates on your embabies?

Aimzie · 30/03/2021 13:41

@Annny27 I didn't expect to even ovulate after the cp this month until my period came back but I'm 7dpo based on temp just so I guess well see I suppose but doubt much will have happened, although I actually read somewhere women can ovulate 2 weeks after a cp🙄❤️
Il try properly again this month tho with my new cup & preseed, our appointment is on the 22nd of April with our clinic so I might just relax and try not to obsess until then 👀 if I can even do that lol how are you getting on?

Crazydoglady123 · 30/03/2021 14:37

@notyetamumbuttrying I did think something was up as you'd been quiet. I think if you're anything like me you'll feel so much better when you're out of the limbo stage and have a plan. Hopefully not much longer for you 🤞 I think reading up my follicles turned into follicular cysts so I won't actually ovulate them. The injections I start tomorrow will shrink them back down though so very excited to inject!
