@2020mission I work for a big consultancy doing fraud investigations. I adore investigating but the hours and the pressure and stress have all got a bit much really. I could always go back to being a regular accountant I guess but would mean a big salary drop and I'm the main earner in my house.

@Crazydoglady123 we could get married outside at our venue but that isn't what we had planned. I think they are overacting to be honest so we will probably carry on and wait and see. We booked our wedding in August 2019 so I've been planning it for ages and really have in my mind how I want it. There are worse things but it's just so sad for everyone who doesn't get to have the day they wanted, feel like I've waited long enough to meet the right man and I want the day I'd planned! (Plus the baby I'd planned!!)

Motherofkittens28 · 23/03/2021 20:43

@Crazydoglady123 also ask me anything you like re the ivf, you guys were all really there for me when I went through my cycle and I'd love to return the favour!

Crazydoglady123 · 23/03/2021 21:05

Yay @paintfairy welcome to the infertile donkeys group

@clolo that's exciting! I'm nervous about egg collection but I'm trying to put it to the back of my mind and not think about it between now and then and will just deal with it right in the moment. I'm quite good at doing that.

@Motherofkittens28 I understand that. You spend years dreaming about and planning your wedding day, you want it as you'd imagined. I hope Covid does ease enough for you to have your special day.
Re the IVF, thank you so much! I will deffo be asking a million questions. At the minute, as I said above EC is one of my biggest worries but my other is using the bloody Ovaleap pen 🤦🏽‍♀️ I actually don't feel worried at all about injecting myself weirdly. I microchip dogs so maybe that makes it seem okay to me.

Motherofkittens28 · 23/03/2021 21:09

@Crazydoglady123 I've had two egg collections in my life now and I was totally unaware for both. You'll be a bit tender after, especially with your numbers but honestly the procedure itself is nothing, just a nice sleep! The needles for me didn't hurt at all, I barely felt them, ovaleap was fine once I'd done it once but I totally get the worry about it as I was freaked out before I did it.

@Motherofkittens28 I just hate the thought of drifting off bit. My last surgery (my boobs!) I had to go in on the day by myself and had to walk into theatre and the few minutes lying there before being knocked out just makes me feel queasy thinking about it with anxiousness. I get low blood pressure after ops and when I'm in hospital so the clinic have been made aware not to get me up too fast or I'll pass out. I think I might find some YouTube videos on the Ovaleap. I've been shown twice and have instructions but my dose is 262.5 and I have the 900 cartridges so the fourth dose will be split over two cartridges

Annny27 · 23/03/2021 21:20

@crazydoglady123 when I had my miscarriage surgery I LOVED drifting off haha. Was so excited to feel anesthetic haha

Crazydoglady123 · 23/03/2021 21:26

@Annny27 is that even normal to like that?! 🤣🤣🤣

Juno231 · 23/03/2021 21:27

@clolo the one thing I would say about amh increasing for minster is that it's common after chemo apparently. It's as if the amh after treatment is suppressed but tends to improve in the years after.

@Motherofkittens28 fingers crossed July isn't affected too much - I've got two weddings to go to then and they seem to think it's going ahead 🤞

Motherofkittens28 · 23/03/2021 21:53

@Crazydoglady123 my dose was 375 so I was splitting doses every 5 mins, its fine because you just dial up the full dose, inject it and see what is showing as still to do, write that down, swap the cartridge and dial up what you wrote down. Oh and there is a bit more in the cartridge than they say, so don't worry if you seem to get more doses than you expect from one.

@Annny27 I'm exactly the same, I love an anesthetic, quite looking forward to it on Thursday!

Motherofkittens28 · 23/03/2021 21:54

@Juno231 thanks! I think my venue is just overreacting at this point, it's just too soon to know if there will be any issues.

crazycatlady1981 · 24/03/2021 08:05

@Motherofkittens28 good luck for your lap tomorrow. We’ve tried insemination a few times, so it’s definitely worth a go if you are feeling sore after the lap. Also I’ve read on an ivf group about a few stories of people getting pregnant naturally after their first ivf fails. People seem to think the ivf clears out some bad eggs etc so you never know, it’s worth a shot!

Sorry to hear about your wedding venue, I’m sure they are panicking unnecessarily! And by July Covid is likely to be at the lowest/safest for ages with everyone having their first jabs and warmer weather!
Can I ask about injections too? Is there a point at which you are doing 2 injections in one day and do you do them at same time or different times? I know I’ll be on buserelin to start with but not sure what others I’ll be having later on.

@Annny27 @Juno231 it’s unbelievable to think that some people can actually plan out when they’re having a baby!! 🦄🦄🦄🦄🤬

@Theawkwardblonde glad to hear you are being looked after now! 💕

crazycatlady1981 · 24/03/2021 08:33

Also ladies I’ve added a new superfood to my diet, Goji berries! Apparently they’re good for implantation, egg health, sperm health and thickening lining! Another one for the ever increasing list!! My morning porridge is turning into an all day feast with all these seeds, supplements and berries I’m adding!! 🤣

Crazydoglady123 · 24/03/2021 09:07

Thanks @Motherofkittens28. Can I also ask are the needles for the pen in the cartridge boxes? If not I think they've missed them off my order.

@crazycatlady1981 you sound like me with all the seeds and berries 🤣 Re the injections I'm on buserelin and continue that while I have my stims so I'll be on two injections a day then. Plus on every fourth dose of Ovaleap I'll have to inject twice 🙄

RobinRose · 24/03/2021 09:15

@crazycatlady1981 are goji berries nice? I have seeds with my cereal/muesli everyday so adding some super berries might be good!

Narwhal88 · 24/03/2021 09:17

Hi all, sorry I'm not sure if I need to reply to anyone. Day 8 of stims today and last night felt really ill. Had to sit on the bathroom floor for a bit as kept thinking I was going to throw up 🤢 feeling a bit better this morning. Trying to get my protein in and fruit and veg but it's hard when you don't feel like eating! Going to let the nurse know this morning as I have another scan.
@Crazydoglady123 if you have any questions about the ivf then also happy to answer though I know you are on different meds to me.

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/03/2021 09:57

@crazycatlady1981 ooh another thing to add 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ off to my Tesco order I go! 💸

Motherofkittens28 · 24/03/2021 10:05

@Crazydoglady123 yes, the pen tips are in the boxes with the vial, you get loads of them, way more than you need.

@crazycatlady1981, yes I was doing buserelin and ovaleap each day after downregulation, I just did them both one after the other in my thighs. As @crazydoglady123 says, on the ovaleap you end up doing three some days if you need to swap vials to get the full dose

crazycatlady1981 · 24/03/2021 10:20

@RobinRose yes they taste nice, but they’re a bit chewy on their own so I recommend adding them to something warm & liquidy which plumps them up a bit. I have mine in warm porridge but you could also add them to hot water or herbal tea and drink/eat them that way. They’ve got a little bit of protein in them too for all of us protein addicts on here! 😬

@Crazydoglady123 @Motherofkittens28 ah thank you, that’s good to know, I like to mentally prepare myself for all the injections coming my way!

@Narwhal88 hope you feel better soon and fingers crossed the scan goes well today! 🤞🏻

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/03/2021 10:36

@Crazydoglady123 this seed cycling business - you said a tbsp of flax and tbsp of pumpkin up until - that's a lot of seeds! A table spoon is huge! I'll have more seeds than porridge 😂

polejunkie · 24/03/2021 10:56

Hello - Can I join? I've been lurking - currently waiting for referral for IVF... 33 (34 on Easter Sunday) have 1 little girl - 4, from previous relationship and have been TTC for 18 months.

AMH 7.6, had Baseline scan today which showed 12 follicles and my partner has lower than average motility and mobility, but pregnancy achievable (so they say) - he is 47...

So basically I know very little about IVF, I was told I have underactive thyroid so put on meds for a month before referral - blood test on Monday to check that so I hope our referral will be actioned next week. All I know is I'll be given quite a high dose of meds for the cycle as egg count rather low...

Any advice, experience etc. welcomed, it's like a minefield out there!!

Positive vibes to you all on your respective journeys from an IVF novice but a baby dancing pro :)

crazycatlady1981 · 24/03/2021 11:12

@polejunkie welcome! I have quite a low AMH too 6.1 and afc 10, but apparently they are normal for my age (39) and ok for ivf which hopefully starting in the next few months. Are you and your partner on any supplements? I’m on prenatal vitamins along with coq10 300mg and also DHA which both help with egg health. DH is on vitamins and coq10. I’d also recommend lots of protein in different forms to help with egg & sperm health! This group is great for learning all kinds of new info so feel free to ask any questions! 😊

@Marvellouslymadmum same here! My breakfast is 30g of actual porridge oats, 70g of everything else! 😂

Crazydoglady123 · 24/03/2021 11:15

@Narwhal88 you poor thing that sounds horrible! You still feeling sick now? Let us know how you get on and thank you, I will deffo be asking questions!

@Motherofkittens28 phew! I thought for a sec they'd missed it off my delivery.

@crazycatlady1981 knowledge is power haha

@Marvellouslymadmum yep, more seeds than porridge!

@polejunkie welcome! Just saying straight away I too am a fellow pole addict 🙋🏽‍♀️ You sound in a similar situation to a lot of us so will fit right in. I start my ivf next week

polejunkie · 24/03/2021 11:20

@crazycatlady1981 I have coq10 and DHA - got them a while back hoping they'd assist with natural conception, no such luck, but will continue to take along with folic etc. and thyroid tabs... I basically sound like rattle haha, can't wait for more meds...!

What I don't understand is the timeline, how do you know when you'll start?! I know referral is close, but know nothing about when we'll actually go through the IVF process, guess it depends on where you are and what is recommended for you personally?

@Crazydoglady123 yay for pole, cannot wait to get back to classes Grin are you nervous about starting IVF, or do you have a good understanding of what to expect?

Crazydoglady123 · 24/03/2021 11:30

@polejunkie I'm private but mine was unexpectedly fast. I had my consultation on CD6 and was told I could start this cycle. I'm on long protocol and start down regs CD21 and plan for stims to start two weeks after and EC and ET provisionally booked for 26th April & 1st May apparently. I'm nervous about aspects of it. The injections I feel fine about. A month or so ago I can say I had hardly any idea about how IVF worked and I'm still learning bits. I follow the IVF threads for info even though I don't contribute much yet. Regarding pole I'll probably leave re joining now my studio this year with all this going on. We're looking for a new house and we want to build a gym/pole studio in the garden so hopefully can just play about at home
