TTC baby #2 March Bus

Hey 😋

Thought I would start a thread for people trying to conceive their 2nd child. Hope some of you lovely ladies want to join in to keep each other sane!

So as I said I’m TTC #2. This is my first cycle. I’ve been tracking my period on the Flo app since my DS was born so have a good idea of my ovulation window. According to the app I’m due to ovulate tomorrow but I got a stronger result on a clear blue ovulation test yesterday than what I did today. DTD yesterday and hopefully again today if we find the time.

My first pregnancy was kind of unexpected i fell pregnant very quickly - around 2 months - after coming off the pill. I have not been on the pill for over a year and have been using condoms instead so it will be interesting to see how long it will take this time.

@tuxedocat I remember first time I was seeing lines all over the place. Then I was on a clear blue ovulation study and they gave you like 10 digi tests and they told you when to test and the first one I used it said pregnant so there was no line guessing wish those ones we met a bit cheaper, would take away the guesswork!

@JJ94 it's exactly the same as me. Only person I can talk to is my husband. So it's nice to have somewhere to openly talk about these things!
Don't know about you guys but we seem to be getting a lot of "are you gonna give DC a brother or sister yet?" As if that's a totally appropriate question to ask!

@tuxedocat I can defo see something!!! FRER is defo needed and a good hold!

I fully agree with you all. My husband is quite chill but I know he was gutted when I sent the pic and he thought it was negative.

@moonpie32 I get it aaaaall the time. And friends going on how wonderful 2 is all the time. One of my ‘friends’ said she was surprised we would consider a second cos we look like ‘one kid types’ 😅😅

@tuxedocat what does that even mean 😂😂 looking like a one child type. Wonder if you have to look a certain way?

My husband works away all week, but when i spoke to him on the phone the other day and told him I had come on, he was disappointed too. I just think I'm much more impatient at TTC than he is 🙈

@moonpie32 we get it too,people say how much our son would love a sibling. I just feel like saying "yeah we're working on it" but instead I just brush it off and say "maybe one day "
As for looking like a one child couple whats that even meant to mean 😂

I think the partners/hubby have it harder sometimes as they have to put up with us obsessing whilst really wanting it themselves!

People are so nosy with the child questions! Before we had our DD we knew we wanted to travel a bit after we got married first and as soon as we were wed the questions started🙄

Right?! I’ve no idea but I was like erm, thanks. She then had the audacity to tell me to wait til my son was 5 to start trying because she’s finding it hard being pregnant with her 4 year old 🧐 some people are utterly bizarre!

It’s tough on the guys isn’t it. They try to be equal parts caring so they don’t get too invested but then don’t want to be too caring so we see them upset.

I wish they taught more about TTC at school - it’s such a minefield!!

Yeah that's utterly bizarre! I don't know why people think they can force their opinions on children onto you!

@May2311 we were exactly the same as you! Wanted to do some things before kids and always got the awkward questions.

That's me defo out. AF has arrived a day early however I'm now using it as an excuse to lie on the sofa eating chocolate and starting season 2 of drag race uk while DC naps 😂

@May2311 @tuxedocat thanks ladies. I kinda expected it anyways although still disappointed!
Cos my cycles are "shorter" my fertile window starts a week today 😂 still rooting for everyone else though!

I loooooove drag race. I've caught up with the US version, watched all of all stars so thought I'd start season 2 of the UK.

@moonpie32 all that rest this week ready for next week! Are you going to do anything different or just go with the flow?

We did the opposite! We finished UK s2 and I think we will start the US one now. We’ve also been hooked on superstore on Netflix - so funny!!

@tuxedocat we will actually start trying this month😂 I might secretly do SMEP as that worked for us last time. I don't like putting too much pressure on my hubby. Still not tempting or doing OPKs though I've decided.

Ahhh I watched S1-11 before watching the UK one. I have to admit I prefer the US one although the first couple of seasons are a bit meh. Don't like Canada drag race at all. All stars is fab!
I'm addicted to Superstore. It's typical American sitcom like friends and Big Bang with a will they won't they. We've just started season 3

Same! I much prefer the US as it’s way funnier and more natural I think and snap on superstore! Will try the others for sure. We’ve just started S4. So good!

I think it's just my stupid humour that enjoys those types of programmes.

My husband got some clear blue digital ones (6 days early) and I’ve taken one and a BFN. Blue dye along the top of the window but he said there wasn’t any FRER in boots.

I’ll see how I go and test tomorrow or Sunday AM. not feeling too positive as I’m sure that should have picked something up but never mind!

@tuxedocat aren't the digital ones meant to be lower sensitivity? Is it the one with the weeks indicator?
There is still a chance as AF is due Sunday?

@moonpie32 it was the one with the line, not a digi. Ovia had me down for today but I checked my first cycle from when I was off the pill and it was 35 days so perhaps I’ve got it all a little wrong. I’m not sure! that would put me down for next week if that’s the case so I guess I’ll have to see 🤞🏻

@tuxedocat I didn't think they were as sensitive either. Plus did you store FMU? ( not that I'm trying to give you massive hope) it's just those type of things do make a difference! Fingers crossed😘😘

Ladies - writing this as I'm having a chill in the bath.... what's your take on the whole "no bath" thing in TWW? Does anyone know much about the research and rationale about why it's supposed to be bad? Xxx

@tuxedocat aw I know the one you mean. Like you say you may be having a longer cycle this month. Think 48-72 hours your hcg doubles so maybe try again Sunday? Still in with a chance so that's positive!

@May2311 I knew about hot baths in early pregnancy as it can cause lightheadedness, increase in body temp and in turn blood pressure etc but wasn't sure about TWW.
I'd imagine it's the same in TWW by that logic. I think it's if it's absolutely boiling (which is the way I like mines so my skin is like a lobster 😂)

@May2311 thank you 🥰 I didn’t use FMU no, I held for a few hours so I knew it was a long shot! I might try the CB tomorrow on FMU to see and then store my FMU for a FRER as I haven’t managed to pick one up today.

I have a feeling I’m probably due in a few days and it’s either super early or I’ve not read this cycle right. I’m certain I did O 4/6 so I guess it’s not within the realms of abnormal 🤞🏻

*ovulate between 4-6th March is what I meant to say!
