Hi ladies

I'm 23 and my partner (27) and I are TTC baby #1!

It was our first month trying this month and AF is due 2nd/3rd of March, so far just BFN! My cycle is roughly 26/27 days! But didn't expect to get pregnant first cycle so I'm feeling ok 👌🏼

Anyone else TTC baby no 1 with a similar cycle? 🥰 xx

@Kty09 haha what no way that's absolutely crazy !! My mum also didn't have any trouble conceiving my brothers she was a similar age to what I am now so hoping the same :) I had a tarot reading done and it's made me more excited , don't know if I believe in them until it happens though 😂

@taytay2020 no way when's AF due ??

Ooh if you have enough space for a little one I wouldn't worry too much! Our new place is only a 2 bed so I'm sure we'll have to move at some point but will do for a while !

@Genevive123 what did the tarot reading say? Is that with the cards? I don’t really have a clue about stuff like that! I was booked to get a reading this time last year but lockdown hit and I didn’t re book!
@taytay2020 haha I absolutely hate decorating so I would deffo make the most of all your efforts for a while 😂

taytay2020 · 07/03/2021 15:20

@genevive123 Well, I thought I was due last Thursday but apparently I guessed wrong! Got a bfn on Friday (as expected) so I guess I'm just waiting to see what happens now...

@kty09 We finally got our living room back in shape yesterday after spending a month in total chaos (including fitting a new turquoise carpet by ourselves). Today we're trying to finish the skirting board in our dining room - it's all a bit open plan so it won't really feel like the living room is done until the whole space is finished! I think I'll be painting into next week. Arggghhhh.

HopingForBabyM2021 · 07/03/2021 17:43

We also said we would move before TTC, but that went out the window fairly quickly 😂 we are currently in a fairly spacious 3 bed flat so I think we'll be fine for now, although I'm constantly dreaming about having a garden!

I have never tried tarot cards but have always been very curious! What did they say?!

I pay started AF 3 days ago, and it usually lasts 7 days 😭. Quite lucky though because it confirmed I wasn't pregnant and I got the Covid jab! Really happy that the guidance says you can TTC when you get the jab without having to wait, or I might not have been able to cope! I really do understand baby fever and maternal urges now!!

Kty09 · 07/03/2021 18:53

@HopingForBabyM2021 7 days poor you :( I’ve had the implant so barely had AF for 5 years so not enjoying that part of it obviously 😂 but it’s very short 3/4 days so I’m lucky.
Aw that’s great then all good to go now!
Yes the maternal urges! I’ve been broody for years but I can so see the difference in me compared to my OH now..he just doesn’t get the feeling of desire for it to happen to us, although he is excited. X

Neom87 · 07/03/2021 18:57

Hi ladies, hope there is room for one more :-)

A little about me, I'm 33 (edging on 34) and currently ttc out first. I stopped taking the pill on 25 Jan after 16 years! Had a small withdrawal bleed 28-29 Jan. Then had very sore nipples 12-15 Jan, not something I have experienced before so not sure if it was a sign of ovulation or not. I then felt like i was getting my period, around 21st Feb which I was quite pleased about as I was worried about how long it though take my body to get back to normal however, what I ended up with was (sorry if tmi) dark brown spotting- very light flow 21-26 Feb, so I have no idea where in my cycle I am. Whether to count that as a period and now in cycle 2 or if I'm still in a very long cycle 1!

taytay2020 · 07/03/2021 19:01

I'm not sure if I've got maternal urges or just an obsessive need to plan! I definitely research things more, then present DH with the facts or the options (and sometimes talk him into things like DIY projects where he'll be doing 80% of the work!)

Genevive123 · 07/03/2021 20:06

@taytay2020 hope you come on soon lovely!! It's the worst waiting to come on, I find when I stress too much it delays my period for sure!

@Kty09 so it said that I would get a positive pregnancy test in April - which would mean I would get pregnant on my cycle that begins at the end of March!!

@HopingForBabyM2021 congrats on the vaccine lovely - I won't be offered one until the very end so can't see me having one until after baby is born! I am 23 with no underlying health conditions! I don't know how you cope with 7 day AF! Mine is 5 days and I can just about put up with it, can't wait for 9 months of no periods lol!! It said I would get a positive pregnancy test in April, which would mean I conceive on the cycle that starts end of March!!

@Neom87 hello lovely!! Ooh exciting - have you started using OPK's yet? :)

OP posts:
Neom87 · 07/03/2021 20:44

Hi @genevive123 I have been using them off and on, they always seem to be low, and then I realised I probably wasn't using them properly. I struggle not to drink/wee for three hours before a test, and to do it twice a day, feels like I'm not allowed to drink or wee all day!!

Genevive123 · 07/03/2021 20:49

@Neom87 oh really? I haven't held wees to do them and got my peak absolutely fine :) I test twice a day once at around 8am and once at 5pm but I don't hold urine and haven't had a problem! I use Femometer and the app :) x

OP posts:
Neom87 · 07/03/2021 20:57

Oh @genevive123 that's good, once I read that it put me off! I like my brews too much! Haha! So I think about doing one but then I think oh I had those 2 brews, or I had a wee an hour ago! Grin So started thinking it was a waste to do! Will strat doing more regularly then if I know it doesn't matter too much!

Timetobeamummy · 07/03/2021 21:03

Evening ladies. It appears I am at the exact same point as a few of you so would be great to go through the pain altogether!

AF finished on Friday- Due to ov next weekend. We have also just bought our first home just before Christmas but was having some work done finally unpacked!

TTC #1 Cycle 2! OPKs at the ready 🙃

Genevive123 · 07/03/2021 21:06

@Neom87 haha I'm totally the same!! I am a massive tea lover and I am also one of those people who has a wee and then 5 mins later starts stressing thinking I need a wee again so I go again 😂 this was my peak from last month after a million wees so don't worry! I definitely recommend :)

@genevive123 that is so strong!! Do you try and stick to the same time each day?

Genevive123 · 07/03/2021 21:20

@Neom87 yes I did :) I was gutted we didn't conceive last month but I was expecting it as we just got a puppy a few months ago and we haven't got him a crate to go in when we're having sex yet lol, so it was pretty impossible to DTD!! To be fair with the ovulation sticks I would occasionally do an extra one because it makes me excited lol x

OP posts:
Neom87 · 07/03/2021 21:40

@genevive123 ah yes, can spoil the moment when they suddenly appear! I'm just impatient! I want to know what's going on Inside my body, it annoys me that I don't. It also annoys me that I don't know whether I should be tracking those days of dark spotting as a period on the apps. To me it's like what my periods were like one the pill for when I was just coming on but then they turned to bright red blood, but this never did Angry I was using premom, but I have had a look at femometer and it is a much nicer app, so I am switching to that!

Neom87 · 07/03/2021 21:42

Welcome @timetobeamummy! I'm a newbie too Smile

Genevive123 · 07/03/2021 21:49

@Timetobeamummy hello lovely!! Sounds like your on the same cycle as me and @Kty09 due to ovulate next weekend how exciting :) I finished AF friday too! Any idea which day you're supposed to be ovulating ?

@Neom87 haha for sure it does my partner struggled to focus on DTD as did I lol, so got a crate ready for this month !! Ooh yes order some OPKs they have them on Amazon ☺️ I've got 50 at the ready should last me the next two cycles lol! Are you taking anything like folic acid ?

OP posts:
Neom87 · 07/03/2021 21:59

@genevive123 I have some already, think i might poas shortly actually, now its not to critical to wait 3 hours! Grin I bought a mixed pack from amazon including some hcg ones. I bought the seven seas ones but reluctant to take as people have said they made their cycles longer, although they did have good reviews on amazon. Are you taking any? Were you on any contraception previously?

Genevive123 · 07/03/2021 22:01

Haha to do it !! I seem to have my cycle down pretty well now as I was tracking for a few months prior in preparation, I seem to get my peak the day before predicted ovulation on the app which would make sense :)

I'm on folic acid I have been for about a month now to prepare! No I've never been on contraception only ever used condoms x

OP posts:
Timetobeamummy · 07/03/2021 22:45

@Genevive123 according to my app Sunday but OPKs will help pin it down. Be interesting to see if the app is correct but not relying on it. Start my OPKs tomorrow. Is that about right?

I’m currently having a debate with my OH about getting a puppy! He keeps going on about it and thinks it will be good practice. I feel like he wants the puppy but I will end up looking after it. 🤣

@Neom87 I’m sure we will have a millions questions. Personally I am just taking folic acid and a couple of other vitamins. I’ve avoided Seven Seas for the same reasons.

@Genevive123 woooo 👶 so exciting! I find OPKs so confusing. I have a box of the premom ones that I'll start when AF finishes. I already used one just to try it out, not looking forward to doing it everyday!

Kty09 · 08/03/2021 09:20

@Genevive123 @Timetobeamummy how exciting! I feel a bit disheartened already using the OPKs cause the last few times I have used them I literally have one line and not even a hint of another! 😩 I only ever saw a good two lines on like CD9 but last month but that was my first normal cycle off contraception. I also drink loadssss of water so don’t think that helps! Hopefully during the next week they will get stronger! My app says Sunday too 🤞🏼
