Hi ladies

I'm 23 and my partner (27) and I are TTC baby #1!

It was our first month trying this month and AF is due 2nd/3rd of March, so far just BFN! My cycle is roughly 26/27 days! But didn't expect to get pregnant first cycle so I'm feeling ok 👌🏼

Anyone else TTC baby no 1 with a similar cycle? 🥰 xx

@Timetobeamummy @taytay2020 @Farmer123 it really is torture! I am 7dpo today and tested this morning - couldn't help myself! Obviously it was negative! In terms of symptoms, I am suffering some lower back pain today and a few twinges! No other symptoms though. How are you all doing?

Farmer123 · 10/03/2021 13:35

@Catmumsoph92 it’s the ultimate temptation isn’t it 😂🙈
AF is due Friday so I’m holding out until then. Only our first cycle so I know it’s very unlikely but I’m trying to be positive until then!

How is everyone doing?

Kty09 · 10/03/2021 16:17

So glad I bought those femometer LH strips @Genevive123 look at the difference! I feel soo relieved 😅

Farmer123 · 10/03/2021 16:54

So, I’ve done exactly what I said I wouldn’t and tested 🙈
BFN and AF due Friday so I guess I’m out for this round. Never mind, only first try so not too disheartened 😊

Kty09 · 10/03/2021 17:25

@Farmer123 how many DPO are you? There is still chance! My friend only got her positive on the day her AF was due 🤞🏼
I’m not taking a test until I’m late now!! It’s hard! X

Farmer123 · 10/03/2021 17:41

@Kty09 I’m 13DPO today. Guess you don’t know for sure until AF is due but as it’s our first cycle of TTC I’m not expecting it just yet. It is so, so hard! Bloody pregnancy sticks just call to me 😂
How are you getting on? X

Kty09 · 10/03/2021 17:56

@Farmer123 I was the same last month, I do think it’s good to kind of get to know your body for the first couple of months! It’s amazing what you find out when you start trying 😂
All good, on second proper cycle since contraception and due to ovulate around the weekend 🤞🏼 Then it’ll be the torturous waiting game! I find this couple of weeks much easier than the next 2! X

Neom87 · 10/03/2021 18:11

@kty09 I was exactly the same as you with the ops, yesterday got 35% and 49%, this morning 166% could not believe ny eyes! At least I know somethings going on in there now!

Kty09 · 10/03/2021 19:25

@Neom87 crazy how fast it jumps up! Was today the day your app said was OD too?

Neom87 · 10/03/2021 19:38

@kty09..Well the app wasn't giving me any predictions as I hadn't logged a proper period since finishing the pill in January, so it didn't have anything to go off. I had like 6 days of wierd brown spotting like at the beginning of your period when it's old blood, but then it just stayed like that so I logged as spotting rather than a period. Today I have changed it to be a period and it predicted ovulation tomorrow! So it looks spot on!!

Genevive123 · 10/03/2021 19:43

@Kty09 wooohoo!! Can see that nice pink line !! ❤️ mines up to 35% now so getting there slowly! I read something yesterday that vitamin D is meant to help people conceive have you read this? i ordered some last night !! They came today so going to take along with my folic acid !!

Kty09 · 10/03/2021 20:01

@Neom87 ah yes I remember you saying! It’s a bit confusing when it’s only your first cycle of normality isn’t it. That would be bang on wouldn’t it! It’ll be interesting to see if mine is at the weekend too.
@Genevive123 I know I feel so happy 😀 I was getting a bit worried it wasn’t rising but think those other OPKS were a bit crap! Ah yeah I have heard that, the supplements I take are supermarket version of the pregnacare and they include folic acid plus a few other vitamins including vitamin D! I took one on an empty stomach the other day and projectile threw up 2 mins later 😂 won’t be doing that again!

Genevive123 · 10/03/2021 20:18

@Kty09 it is soo exciting isn't it !! I love seeing the darker lines , it's nice knowing you're actually ovulating ! Ohh I haven't seen those ones! The folic acid ive been taking doesn't make me feel any different even on an empty stomach So I think I'll stick to it although won't have all the vitamins I need ! I know it's only my second month TTC but I'm so nervous about getting a negative result again xx

Kty09 · 10/03/2021 20:31

@Genevive123 so exciting!! I know what you mean, I read a statistic the other day saying 30% of couples trying will get pregnant each month and I think that is quite low really isn’t it. I also keep remembering they say it usually will happen within 6 months 🤞🏼 Once you get that BFP you will probably think the TTC period went really quickly but it doesn’t feel like it at the time! I’m dreading that TWW 🙈 and promised myself I won’t test until late because it’s not a good feeling is it 😩

Timetobeamummy · 10/03/2021 22:13

@Kty09 I have a similar effect if I take folic acid on an empty stomach oddly.

@Genevive123 we are still on track to Ovulate at the weekend I’m at 49% today 🤞🏻

I’ve ensured I have no tests ahead of TWW OH took them out the house to avoid any temptation during the two weeks 🙈

lisamxxx · 11/03/2021 00:51

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me jumping in but I have just started ttc last cycle so would be really good talking to others in the same boat as me. I'm 24 and me and my partner have just decided to try again after having a miscarriage at 11 weeks at the end of 2019. I never tracked ovulation last cycle as we have decided to take the laidback approach for a bit and just wait and see what happens but I did use the Flo app however I know this isn't the most accurate so never paid too much attention to it. I was constantly symptom spotting in the 2ww but only had sore boobs which I usually get on the run up to my af anyways. The problem I have is that my partner works nighshift 4 nights a week so we don't have much chance to do it but trying to do it at least twice a week. Just got my af on Tuesday so was a bit gutted but I had a feeling it wouldn't happen the first month. Fingers crossed for those positive tests soon!! 🤞🏻 xx

Farmer123 · 11/03/2021 07:06

Hi @lisamxxx
Lovely to have you join us 😊
I’m really sorry to hear about your mc and glad you feel ready to try again 😊
I use Flo and I find it very accurate. I was inputting my info for over a year before using it for TTC because I wanted to know when AF was due! It’s different for everyone though and some people’s Flo apps are waaaaaay off!
Taking it easy sounds good, got to do whatever is right for you.
I think not having any tests in the house sounds a good idea @Timetobeamummy !

Kty09 · 11/03/2021 09:47

Ahh so this is today?! I’m hoping this isn’t my peak peak - I’m not due to ovulate until the weekend and DH is away! I’m confused now 😂 I’m only on CD9?!

Genevive123 · 11/03/2021 12:43

@Kty09 looks like you'll get your peak tomorrow so you'd be ovulating on Saturday (usually a day after your peak)

I'm freaked out today ladies just went for a wee and wiped to a brown blood? A week after my period ended?

taytay2020 · 11/03/2021 13:10

Hi @lisamxxx! AF started on Tuesday for me too, so it looks like we'll have similar dates this month. I use flo as well, but because I used it to track bleeds while I was on the mini pill (which were very random!) flo doesn't really have a clue about my natural cycle. I'm hoping it'll become better calibrated as time goes on.

@timetobeamummy I'm the opposite! I didn't want to have to go into a shop specially to buy a test (we're doing click and collect these days) so I instead I bought a stash ahead of time so I'm prepared lol. I've got cheap ones for impatient testing and a couple of CB digitals which I'm absolutely not using unless it's to confirm a bfp!

@genevive123 Brown discharge after a period can be normal, so don't worry. It'll most likely just be a remnant from your period. Keep a note of it if you're worried, then if you do spot other symptoms you will have more info to go on. (Disclaimer: I'm not a medical professional! But there's a good article about 'is brown discharge normal?' on bodyform.co.uk which explains this quite well.)

Timetobeamummy · 11/03/2021 13:25

@lisamxxx I use flo and find it accurate says I’m due to ovulate at the weekend and my ovulation tests also suggest that. I think it’s as good as the info you put in. Takes a while to build the data up. I also use fertility friend which is good if your tracking temp.

@Kty09 looks like might be tomorrow for your ovulation or Saturday depends on if you say it’s peak peak. I would test again this evening as it’s best to do twice a day when you think you hit your peak.

@Genevive123 I had that last cycle my first I was super confused. Maybe because I had actually started paying attention to my body I noticed it. However it is perfectly normal it’s just old blood clearing out.

@taytay2020 I have a great stash from Amazon I just can’t have them in the house WFH means I have to much temptation so they are best out of sight.

lisamxxx · 11/03/2021 13:51

@Farmer123 thank you!! I've been keeping track of my cycles for about a year as well on the Flo app and it is usually pretty accurate on when I'm due on so hopefully it's the same with ovulation. It's good to know you find it pretty accurate though!! I keep telling myself I won't get sucked in to the obsession of testing yet but it's so hard! I am not looking forward to another 2ww just have to keep telling myself I won't test until af is late.

@taytay2020 looks like we are cycle buddies!! I am hoping this month will go a bit quicker than last but I doubt it. The 2ww is the worst can't help but constantly try and symptom spot. Hopefully this is our month!! Do you test early or just wait it out?

@Timetobeamummy that's good that it is the same as when you're testing!! Hopefully mine is pretty accurate then as I've been putting in my cycle info for a good while now!!

Kty09 · 11/03/2021 14:18

@Genevive123 I’ve just been googling about my high LH surge today (obviously 😂) and I came across something on here that said you can get spotting a couple of days before ovulation due to oestrogen levels dropping which can cause endometriosis to shed - this could possibly be what you experienced?

@Timetobeamummy ah thank you, yes I will check later too. I’m hoping it’s not the peak just yet, I think the follicles aren’t mature enough to ovulate this early?! Plus DH isn’t at home!! Hopefully I get a peak again in the next couple of days!

Genevive123 · 11/03/2021 16:13

@Kty09 ooh I've just read that too! Think I panicked as my LH level is going up so slowly but I remember this happened last month too and I panicked (not the blood but the slow LH rising)

@Timetobeamummy thank you lovely I think you're right where I'm focusing on it so much I'm noticing different things happening !!

@taytay2020 thank you haha you have all put my mind at rest!! Xx

Neom87 · 11/03/2021 18:14

@genevive123 I have had it happen often where I think my period has finished, nothing for a few days and then it's like the old blood clearing itself out. Hopefully it's just that happening.

Welcome @lisamxxx I am sorry to hear about your miscarriage, but glad you have found our little thread, I think we have a nice bunch here to support each other along the way Smile

Interested to know if any of you have told any family/friends that they are TTC? X
