Anyone good at reading ov sticks? I can’t decide if this is positive or not.

Great thank you! Time to get on it :D

Enjoy 😉

Is anyone else using Pregnacare? I decided to really commit to taking it this month and now I'm on day 13 and not a whiff of ovulation. I looked back at my cycles and every time I've taken it before it seems to have prolonged them! Did a bit of research and found out this is quite common- it even says it on the back of the packet. I'm feeling a bit annoyed actually as the whole process seems to drag on anyway without it being even longer! Angry Just wondered if anyone had had a similar experience? Think I will stop taking it today and see where it gets me x

Idreamof2more · 29/12/2020 11:50

Not personally but have read that it does x

Chica1990 · 29/12/2020 12:19

@ronniemipperton it’s not a true positive but it’s very close. The line by the end that says ‘max’ needs to be as dark or darker than the control line (the line towards the part of the test you hold). I often miss my peak tbh but def get on it now!

idkwhatsgoingon · 29/12/2020 12:43

@SEpoppet I've read about a lot of ladies who have been taking pregnacare and it delayed their ovulation as well. It probably could be that. I just take multivitamins and DP takes wellmen conception.

Catmum55566 · 29/12/2020 12:49

I agree that is close @ronniemipperton but you might get a darker one this evening or tomorrow. Depends if you have a gradual surge or a short one.

@SEpoppet I have heard this about pregnacare before, might be worth looking an alternatives for the next cycle? I agree that having a longer wait for ovulation makes everything seem slower. I find it worse than the TWW oddly enough.

CD14 for me and nothing much going on. Got back on the temping again post Christmas and my temps are very low so I am sure you are right about that clear blue peak being a false surge!

SEpoppet · 29/12/2020 14:30

Thanks for the advice all, might just start taking folic acid instead. Hopefully now I have stopped taking them it won't take long for things to go back to normal! @Catmum55566 oddly enough the reason I discovered you can have a false surge is because I was getting them when I was taking the pregnacare last time and googled it...didn't associate it with the pregnacare but now I think they might have been caused by that x

Chica1990 · 30/12/2020 04:30

Sorry to hear it @Monday55, I feel your pain. Are you privately funding the IUI out of interest? Sorry to be nosey, I’ve been wondering wether to bite the bullet and just pay for ivf

ronniemipperton · 30/12/2020 09:55

Thanks @Chica1990and @Catmum55566 - tested last night and this morning but only faint lines so no idea if I’ve missed it or if my body was gearing up to it but it didn’t happen. Fell asleep last night by accident so didn’t dtd either 🤦‍♀️

Chica1990 · 30/12/2020 10:58

@ronniemipperton you might be short so it’s hard to miss especially if your wee is diluted. You ovulate 12-36 hours after a positive ovulation test/LH surge so get on it still!!

Chica1990 · 30/12/2020 11:21

Sorry that meant to say the surge may be short so it’s easy to miss ^

ronniemipperton · 30/12/2020 11:26

@Chica1990 true, I’ve never really used opks (used to be good at bbt but my little one is very much not sleeping through so it’s not reliable at the moment) so don’t know if I have a short surge or not. Will keep testing/dtd whenever possible and keep everything except legs crossed :D

33Carr · 30/12/2020 11:38

Still waiting for AF! This is the 3rd day it's late, have tested but BFN! I've had a very stressful month so think it's all related 😞

legohaus · 30/12/2020 11:45

8DPO here now and no symptoms. With both my two previous pregnancies (DD and then MC), I had really sore boobs by now.

Trying hard not to symptom spot but it's SO hard.

Idreamof2more · 30/12/2020 11:52

I have no symptoms either at all and 12 dpo had awful boob pain in prev pregnancies so think I’m out.

SalemsPot22 · 30/12/2020 12:57

I’m in cd19 and still no sign of ovulation so wondering if I’ve missed it. So annoying! We’ve had lots of sex so it doesn’t really matter but i like to know what’s going on in there. Guess I just have to wait for period to turn up now.

idkwhatsgoingon · 30/12/2020 13:34

I think I'm 9dpo but I'm not 100% sure. I'm trying my hardest not to test until at least 12-13dpo. I don't really have many symptoms that are different than PMS sore boobs/nipples, cramps hear and then Sad but it is not over until AF arrives ladies

Farfaraway1 · 01/01/2021 06:32

Have been pretty busy here but just checking in..
@Idreamof2more & @legohaus have either of you tested at all yet?
@idkwhatsgoingon how you going holding out on the testing?

I’m about 4 dpo here.. nerve racking wait..........

Idreamof2more · 01/01/2021 07:30

I am due today but not testing until Sunday or Monday feel very much like af is creeping up on mr x

legohaus · 01/01/2021 07:54

@Farfaraway1 Tested this morning - it's my daughters birthday today and obviously NYD, so thought it would be amazing to get a positive.

BFN. Not even a hint of a line. Not even the squintiest of eyes would see one.

newyearisnewtome · 01/01/2021 08:17

AF arrived...I sort of expected it might as my cycle was all over the place last month. Currently CD5 so hoping I might get my BFP by the end of this month.

A gynaecologist called me about my dodgy cycle, said my prolonged bleeding could be due to hormones messing about due to a cyst. However she said the cyst is collapsing so in a couple of months she will check me over to ensure its gone. She can see no other issue. Hopefully I can get pregnant in the next couple of months!

My firstborn took 1/2 attempts, I was very lucky. Goes to show it doesn't always work first time!

Farfaraway1 · 01/01/2021 08:35

@legohaus 😫 when is your AF due? It’s so disappointing isn’t it. And no matter how hard and how long you stare at the test for it doesn’t make another line appear 😣☹️ Sending hugs xx
