Anyone TTC #2?

Lots of threads about TTC baby #1 so looking for someone baby #2 support!

If so how old is your current DC and what made you realise it was the right time?

DD has just turned 1 and we are thinking about #2 very soon! DD took 14 months to conceive so I’m prepared for another long slog...although a bit panicky that it could happen sooner! Am also still shifting some baby weight that clung on nicely during both lockdowns

Anyone else?

I’ve restrained myself! Only got CB digital so didn’t want to use that, I’ll see if AF arrives tomorrow

My DS will be 3 next week! He was a surprise lol. We're ready for another and this is my first month TTC and just want to make some friends along the way. My partner is a bit naive and believes it'll happen the first time but I'm just preparing for the next few months :)

Welcome @KSP8273 my partner was like that. But I think if we don't conceive this month he'll take next cycle more seriously. We postponed our wedding due to covid so now it's a race against time to get pregnant in between. We'll have to stop trying in a few months.

@miami2 Thank you. That's exactly what I'm thinking my OH will be like. It's a nightmare, I know a few people who's had to move their wedding. How long have you been TTC? Fingers crossed for you :)

@KSP8273 I am currently in my TWW of our 3rd cycle trying. They just don't get it 🙄 think cos we didn't really try for our DD he just thought I'd be easy this time too. What about u? X

Hi all! We’ve just started TTC baby 2. Came off the mini pill in November. Still no period yet, but I didn’t have a period between coming off the pill and falling pregnant with baby 1 (midwife flamed me for that, doctor didn’t seem to care). Baby 1 is 13 months.

@miami2 They really don't, but it seems like we're in the same boat as our DS was a surprise lol so he does think he has bionic sperm ATM. This is my first month TTC but tomorrow is my TWW I believe, just hope I've done everything right. Are you using any kits?? Fingers crossed for you :)

Welcome @KSP8273 my DP is the same, it took us a year (actually over a year with MCs) so DP seems to think the universe will even itself out and we’ll fall first time. But I’ve geared myself for another year of trying! But I feel more relaxed about it that way as well.

Hey @Nobeautysleep welcome! Our DCs are similar ages I’ve just missed this cycle (deliberately) so waiting for AF in a couple of weeks then we’re starting cycle 1! Eek!

@mamaatthegym Thank you for the welcome :) Ugh, men. My DP won't even entertain the idea it'll take months which gets my hopes up with his mad theories lol. Hence why I had to find a forum to prepare myself for the next few months if not years. I'm trying to be chilled but like I said, my hopes are up. I'm glad you're feeling that way, hopefully it happens fast for you. :)

Well, I took a CB digital this morning...and I’m pregnant! I’m in shock! Feeling scared, excited, guilty about DS1 not being my only baby anymore, scared some more 😂

I also got my positive result this morning after not believing my cheapie the other night! I did a frer and it’s a really dark result not a squinter!!!

I feel the same, I’m in shock, I’m excited but also sad for my ds that he won’t be our baby anymore (well he will, he’ll always be my baby, but you know what I mean lol!).

I don’t want to tell DH until Christmas morning now but no idea if I can keep it in!!

@Nobeautysleep thank you. I know if I can do it it’s going to be really hard! I don’t really see him during the week but I think he will guess at the weekend when I don’t have a glass of wine or a gin! There’s no way he’ll believe me if I say I just don’t fancy one lol!

Hello! Am I too late to jump on? We'll be TTC #2 around Christmas - after months of waiting to start, this all feels a bit scary! DD is almost 2, hoping for a 3ish year age gap. We conceived her immediately without any real planning, but I'm not expecting to be so lucky this time. I'd love an autumn baby though, so fingers crossed. Congrats to those of you with positives already!

Welcome @Mybobowler never too late! I’m not starting until Christmas either so we’ll be starting together! When’s CD1 for you? I think mine is around 15th.

@mamaatthegym hah I hope this is a lucky thread, certainly seems like it might be!

I think CD1 will be around 20th, so we should be fairly close. I've been using Natural Cycles for the last year or so, which is handy. I have stupidly short cycles and luteal phase though (about 22 and 10 days), so who knows what's going to happen?!

What's everyone doing to prepare, if anything? Just started taking folic acid and I've taken the big first step of thinking about cutting down on caffeine (not actually cutting down, mind you)

Ah yes @Mybobowler you've reminded me I really need to start remembering to take folic acid! Last time I was TTC I had some preconception vitamins from Morrison's which were a lot cheaper than the pregnacare ones, but seem to have stopped selling them - anyone know of any other supermarket own ones?

@babblingbrooks I'm not sure about supermarkets, but I think Boots do an own brand conception vitamin? Let me know if you find any others!

My broody feelings have been slightly dampened today by the fact that my mad toddler has suddenly decided to refuse all naps. Help!

Seven Seas to a ttc vitamin- £5 in Asda and £2.50 in bodycare- I took this for 3 months last time before ttc and caught first try. I've only been on it a few weeks this time before trying...

This was my 8th or 9th month of trying. I am just waiting for my online shop to arrive as I quickly added a clear blue to the shop as I feel like I need to see it in writing, I still can’t believe it! Although I am feeling really dizzy which isn’t normal for me so I’m thinking that must be an early symptom.

I’ve still not said anything to anyone either! Feels really strange having this big secret to myself! (And you lot! Lol!)
