Hello! We are trying for our second child and I am frustrated. I am sure several of you can relate to being frustrated with this whole TTC thing. 😅 Anyways. AF was due 3 days ago and has not shown her ugly face yet. But I have also gotten nothing but negatives (and one invalid). I was planning on not testing again until AF is a week late. Anyone get their BFP that late or even later? I am irregular, so it could just be a late period? I just want to know if I really am pregnant or not, so I can move on! Thanks for any insight you all provide! 😊

@HT1335 I do feel a little more relaxed, though docs still took my bloods Tuesday so I'll be calling for results next Tuesday which I fully expect to say not a lot lol! I'm thinking about paying for tests for dp sa and any that I may need too as we've been trying though somewhat casually for around 3 years now and apart from the two mc nothing. I know when you both have children from previous relationships you're not eligible for any ivf on nhs so had assumed you're not eligible for any tests either but not so sure now from what some others have said 🤔 I was thinking I may just start poas today and see if and when I get that LH surge!

It's so hard all this waiting! At least it's going on the right direction for you 🤞🏻 it'll go quickly once the balls rolling

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/01/2021 12:51

I just took my first opk and got a feint line, does that mean I'm near the LH surge or is that just nothing? According to the tests of its a lighter line than the test line its a negative but is that just for the surge and means it's on its way? 🤦🏼‍♀️

HT1335 · 28/01/2021 14:22

@Marvellouslymadmum I had this on the cheaper tests and I assumed a faint line meant the LH surge was on its way but I don’t know if that’s right?
Oh can you not get ivf if you’ve had children from previous relationships I didn’t realise that.. this is my first time ttc so I’m still on a huge learning curve! I just hope that we can all get some answers soon 🤞🏻
Seems like whatever stage your at with ttc it’s a waiting game doesn’t it x

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/01/2021 15:18

@HT1335 I bought the Femometer tests so not the really cheap but not expensive either! I put the pic in two apps and the Femometer app said yes and the other said no 🤦🏼‍♀️ so we dtd anyway and I'll try taking another one tomorrow 😂 no I believe that if you both have children you get no hope, if one of you does you get a little help and that's about it but I could be wrong. Doc phoned me today and said I've got really low iron too so she's prescribing me some of that and doing another test for something or other as well lol

HT1335 · 28/01/2021 17:05

@Marvellouslymadmum oh well I’m pleased the gp is looking at options and doing other tests! And yep no harm in lots of dtd is there... I’ve just said to my partner just because I’m potentially not ovulating it doesn’t mean we need to stop trying, so he’s thrilled about that 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/01/2021 20:33

Yea I don't know how far they'll go with tests as in I'm not sure if they'll do any fertility type testing but I'm going to ask next time I speak to her. We go through stages of lots of dtd extra even to bare minimum lol depends on our moods at the time 😂

Emmgrem · 28/01/2021 23:51

Hi ladies, I've just read the whole thread and would like to join as I'm potentially experiencing something similar to what I've read here. I had a faint positive at 10DPO, negative at 11DPO, but faint line was back again at 12dpo.
Felt like I was wasting FRERs so I'm now waiting until AF is 1 day late (tomorrow at 15dpo) to test again.

I'm wondering about a chemical pregnancy now though based on @ImpatientMama @Donnat89 and @Marvellouslymadmum 's experiences.
It seems like a chemical can delay your AF, and still show faint lines even after AF. @ImpatientMama when you had yours, how did the doctor confirm it?
It's great to see you've one got your BFP progressing along nicely 💖 bit of hope for us all!

I'm holding out hope still that I might get a BFP but like others here I've had cramps on and off the whole tww, it's so strange. This will be my first baby, aged 30 and cycle #3 off the pill.

ImpatientMama · 29/01/2021 01:33

Hello and welcome @Emmgrem! Sorry about those annoying tests! I definitely wasted money on FRER during my chemical. So I had a very faint line on two different tests one day and when I tested again a day or two later, there was no line. A couple days after that I started bleeding which counted as my AF that cycle. I was 6 days late when I got my positive so it definitely made that cycle a longer one. I did not use opks that cycle so I have no idea what dpo I was when all of this happened. I did go to the doctor when I was basically done bleeding and she did confirm it. I heard you don't really need to go to the doctor for one, but it just gave me piece of mind since it was the first time it happened to me. Waiting until AF is one day late is a good plan. Hopefully you just had a false negative in there? Keep us posted on how the testing goes! 🤞

I’ve just read all of these posts and I’m in slightly the same situation. I’m 16dpo which usually I would never reach, like clockwork (while taking letrozole) I’ll start my period on 13dpo. I’m having continuous BFNs but there are no signs of AF, my cervix has been REALLY high, softish and closed and my BBT has dropped a little but still above the cover line. Feeling so confused and upset, my fertility clinic is just telling me to wait and see but it’s so much easier said than done!

No AF and BFNs 🤷‍♀️
ImpatientMama · 29/01/2021 13:37

Hello @Jdubbs90! This was my chart last cycle. It had a dip like yours, right above the coverline so I was still hopeful. The next day it dipped below the coverline and I got my period the following day. I hope this isn't the case for you and you get a late bfp. But I wanted to share my experience with you. Yeah waiting is a pain. That is all you do really while ttc unfortunately. Keep us posted! We are here for you!

No AF and BFNs 🤷‍♀️

Hi ladies, an update from me CD 55 and no sign of AF still, did a test last weekend...BFN...so I definitely can’t kid myself that I’m pregnant. I’m just so worried that I’m not ovulating...I didn’t know when to start doing any ovulation tests so I am just hoping for Feb AF to show up and start again. Here’s to another weekend & week of anxiety 😞 x

HT1335 · 30/01/2021 08:59

@KES22 I feel your pain on this one, I hope AF shows soon for you
Have you been in touch with your gp?
Cd63 for me now and still no sign 🤷🏼‍♀️

KES22 · 30/01/2021 14:31

@HT1335 I called my GP week before last and she said unless I miss 3 periods in a row there’s not a lot they can do 😞
Have you had this happen before? X

mrssunshinexxx · 30/01/2021 14:53

@ImpatientMama I just found this thread I'm on month one of TTC no2 and my period is 6/7 days late but just getting negative tests but I am always really regular ! No idea what's going on
I went on contraception when my lo was 6 weeks okd and came off again in December had regular periods for the last 5 months (baby is 7 months ) but nothing since coming off the contraception I am breast feeding and I think it's going to cause me problems conceiving 😔

ImpatientMama · 30/01/2021 15:03

@KES22 sorry to hear about your struggles. I hope you get your period soon. A fresh start would be nice!

Welcome @mrssunshinexxx! First month and it is already proving to be an interesting journey! Yeah breastfeeding and your body adjusting coming off contraception could be why your cycle is longer this time. Wow you little one is 7 months and you are already trying for a second? Good for you. I am personally glad we waited a little over a year. I needed the first year to adjust to being a mom, plus my little guy was early and had trouble with gaining weight, so we needed that time to get him on track. He is doing so great now and we feel ready to make our family a little bigger. Good luck to you on this journey! We are here for you!

Thanks @ImpatientMama I haven't found it too difficult to be honest but watch baby no2 be harrrrrrd work! Grin I kind of just wish AF would show up! X

HT1335 · 30/01/2021 15:40

@KES22 no it’s my first time ttc I came off the pill in March and af was pretty regular but now it’s gone really irregular hence I’ve called the gp they have maybe referred me quick due to my age I have my appt at the fertility clinic in 3 weeks I’m really chuffed I got the letter today, just keep a record of everything and ring up again if you’re concerned
@mrssunshinexxx welcome!

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/02/2021 21:47

How's everyone doing? All gone quiet on here at the minute

mrssunshinexxx · 04/02/2021 01:51

I spoke to the gp yesterday and they confirmed the bleeds I have been having on the contraception aren't periods they are withdrawal bleeds she said v unlikely to get pregnant without periods and they b unlikely to come back whilst I'm still breast feeding as much as I am so I fee pretty gutted

crissy22 · 04/02/2021 02:52

I had brownish/red discharge days 4 and 5 of my sugar pill week. Could it have just been withdrawl bleeding?

KES22 · 04/02/2021 08:22

Well AF finally showed up for me on CD56 so at least I can start again and see what happens! Haven’t dtd much in the last few weeks waiting for AF, felt so stressed and anxious, but definitely need to up our game this month 😀. How are you doing @Marvellouslymadmum ?

HT1335 · 04/02/2021 09:44

@Marvellouslymadmum I’m just plodding along doing really well on the diet and exercise and we have our fertility clinic appt soon so trying to get my partners sample arranged before then, I’m remaining positive still no sign of AF now on cd69!
@mrssunshinexxx oh at least you have some answers it’s frustrating the waiting game though isn’t it
@crissy22 I’m really not sure about that maybe ask a nurse or gp at your surgery
@KES22 yes at least you now know what’s going on and can start again! Fingers crossed for you!

How is everyone else getting on??

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/02/2021 11:39

@HT1335 such a long wait for you but I'm so pleased that your fertility appointments are soon! In a way I sometimes feel like that little bit of intervention can give you a much better chance of conception.

@KES22 it's so strange that our bodies sometimes do these things to us - to trick us I think! All steam ahead this month then 😊

@crissy22 I'm not sure either, maybe a call to gp for that one

@mrssunshinexxx it's funny, I've heard this said a lot recently but I breastfed both of my now teenagers and my af was there like clockwork! I guess it's just another way everyone is different 🙃

ImpatientMama · 04/02/2021 12:49

@mrssunshinexxx I didn't get my period back until 10 months after my son was born. I breastfed him until he was a little over a year. Just keep trying, you never know!

@KES22 yay for a fresh cycle! Hopefully this is the one you get your bfp!

I've been doing fine. Just continuing to wait. Had to make some calls and get some paperwork done for the pregnancy program I am enrolling in through my husband's work to get my visits and delivery covered. My first appointment is a week from today. And I am guessing my first ultrasound will be the following week. The ultrasound will help me know exactly how far along I am. According to the apps I am using, I am around 6 weeks. It's still early, but so far, so good. How are you doing @Marvellouslymadmum and others?

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/02/2021 14:28

Hi @ImpatientMama glad to hear you are doing well! I'm ok just getting confused by opk and charts etc nothing unusual haha
